- For the past few years, Sonic games have been getting DLC expansions following their initial release. Will this happen again for Sonic Superstars? And if so, what could they add? Let's discuss this in today's video!

In my book, the only way to make a "old zone pack" work is to go for the most obscure ones, and by "obscure" I mean zones like Underground, Electric Egg, Launch Base and so on.
If the objective is to reference the past, then go wild, not predictable.
I imagine going open zone with them would be cool. Imagine exploring fully 3D Angel Island with all zones from SA1 and S3&K that were there to explore without limitations.

They should totally let PLUS bring back playable Mighty, Ray, and maybe Fang. But also would be cool to be able to play as Metal Sonic or the custom robot character from multiplayer.

Sonic Superstars Plus sounds very cool and I think that a Sonic Superstars Plus honestly could happen in the future. I really think that Fang should’ve been a playable character in Sonic Superstars and now here is what I’m worried about is that what kind of content could they do for a Sonic Superstars Plus and a Sonic Superstars Plus doesn’t really sound that interesting to me. I think a Sonic Superstars plus should not happen. Great video SF Productions)

While I do think that Superstars could get updates(preferably FREE content updates like Frontiers), There is one reason why they are probably not going to do a plus edition. Simple answer: The game was already released physically. Notice how Both Mania and Origins originally were digital exclusive but got physical versions with the Plus release.
Plus could be a digital addition to the game.
Things I want to see in this Plus DLC
1. Cosmetics for Sonic , Tails , Knuckles and Amy
2 . Make Trip to act more like a villain cause in the game she didn't feel like villain at all even like a threat to Sonic Tails , Knuckles and Amy heck even give her own boss battle like Eggman and Fang
3 . New playable charcters
4 . If some of us have the Original Sonic Superstars let us just update the game for free for the plus content
5 . New bonus stages such as Sonic 2 half pipe or Sonic 3 blue spheres stages and extra and additional content
6 . Encore Mode
7 . Jun Sonic 4 music to be rearranged by Tee Lopes
8 . Zones such as Sky Temple and Cyber Station to have 2 two acts or 3
9 . We can choose the 4 main characters and AI version of one 3 characters to follow the player
e.g Sonic and Amy and a mixture of any character or go solo
10 . Online Mode for the main game
And BOOM Now the game is worth 60$

If we get more playable characters we're likely going to get Mighty and Ray considering they do have 3D models for them ready to use given they've been seen prominently in merchandise
I agree with all, except 2 and 8. First: Trip was never actually a villain, just someone who was along for the ride, too scared to face Fang until she met Amy, that was the point of her character. Why make her evil? For the lolz? And second: I think the 1 act structure of some zones makes them not overstay it's welcome, it makes them uneven but not as much of a chore (and besides, they'd have to thinker of a second theme for them if they had an extra zone).
@@dragondelsur5156 The One Act Wonder zones are also a nice callback to zones like Wing Fortress and Sky Sanctuary. The whole Two Act > (Mostly) Optional Third Act > One Act format was a nice way to mix things up.

You could basically just give Knuckle's moveset to her and it would work. And since she is a similarly greedy, vain character-- she might be the perfect character to pick Fang up after losing to Trip and help him escape the island.
I like the idea of reimagining old zones for dlc content much more than base game content. That's how they should do it in the future. As for zones I would like:
Sunset Park - It's one of the best zones from Tirple Trouble so it makes perfect sense with Fang
Mariana Madness - Kuckles chaotix has some wack theme I would love to see return, and a Tee Lopes-ified Seascape would be epic
Aquatic Ruin - One of my favourites from Sonic 2
and White Park from Sonic 4 Episode 2 - best zone in Sonic 4, it counts.
I don't think most Sonic fans are looking forward to revisiting old zones for what it feels like the 20th time.
I'd rather they look back at those drawing boards, even for this game, and give another design run for certain scrapped zones that never got used in any Sonic game.
I think if it was some of the more obscure and unique zones that haven't been reused to death it could work.
I definitely want Super Emeralds back, especially since Sega loves to rob Tails, Amy, n Knuxs in terms if giving them proper Super forms. Tho if they actually brought back Hyper forms, then i wouldn't be surprised if they dicked Tails, Knuxs, and Amy again by having them get Super forms once u get all the Super Emeralds ☠. As for Trip, would be interesting to see her Hyper Dragon form but at the same time in terms of how controls, ya they gotta fix the way she plays in lvls
100% will buy it if it happens. i love the base game as is honestly. so even more content sounds fantastic.
If Superstars happens before adventure i think it would be cool to have a modern campaign that would be like Rush and Advance to show the transiction from classic to modern before adventure starts
If sonic superstars gets the “plus” treatment, I would love to have more options for sonic such as the super peel out ability or the Insta shield

I hope the game does get some form of DLC next year. Fang would be a cool addition. Would be nice if they did something about the online mode too. It's completely dead, which renders collecting coins pointless...More levels would be nice too. Some zones only had one act! Apart from some of the boss encounters (I'm looking at you Fang), I enjoyed my time with Superstars, but now I've finished all 3 parts of the campaign, I'm ready for more content!
I could be wrong, but in addition to the somewhat likely return of mighty and ray, bean the dynamite duck, bark the polar bear, and the highly likely/unlikely return of hyper sonic, i would also like to see the grand return of honey the cat, another sonic character who, just like bean and bark, hasn't seen the light of day ever since sonic the fighters.
All I ask for is when I buy Superstars with plus it has Mighty and Ray as DLC Characters.
Honestly, I wish they added Honey the Cat as a playable character like she's only Classic Sonic Character rn that's haven't been referenced or seen in Current Classic Sonic game

What excuse? She is literally an anthropomorphic version of the Fighting Vipers character Honey.
If it does, hopefully it’s not overpriced here like base Superstars ($99)
For me to even consider picking up Sonic Superstars Plus, I want 2 things:
1. Bring back Mighty and Ray with a new campaign
2. More cosmetics for the Single Player like Giving Trip her armor, or Knuckles his freaking COWBOY HAT 🤠
Things two major things I'd like to see are playable Fang (because he's RIGHT THERE), a way to unlock the DLC skins, and Music Improvements. Maybe an Encore or Throwback mode as well.

How about we add
*Characters*:mighty and ray (better super chars)
Abilities:unlimited emerald powers with super characters
Costumes:holiday costumes (a whole year of costumes like the SF road map)
For Sonic Superstars Plus, I'd add five new playable characters: Charmy (he could have the air dash from generations), Espio (he could wall jump, or damage enemies while running), Vector (who can slam into the ground and bounce like the bubble shield), Mighty, and Ray.
If they added old zones they should do mystic cave, maybe like collision chaos, star light, and maybe launch base or lava reef
The only thing i wish like you Is Fang as playable character THAT WILL BE FANG-TASTIC 🤧👌🤠🌟💜
I would to see throw back 8 bit sonic games as they have over the years done a lot of missed opportunities there!

Give us a classic mode, with bosses you can cheese through, lives, and elemental shields instead of emerald power-ups (but you still can go super).
I'd also really like to see the return of Bean and Bark. One thing you didn't mention that I would want would be to make certain bosses less frustrating. Like when Sonic Mania Plus changed the Metal Sonic boss quite a bit. Also, yeah this game would have been a good opportunity to bring back the Super Emeralds since it would have given the devs room for more emerald powers that couldn't make it.
Sonic Superstars already has its version of Encore Mode in the form of Trip's Story. I guess they could reuse the same assets and create a mode designed for the four core characters. Maybe they could create a Challenge Mode for the Custom Robot characters?
If they make a DLC expansion for Superstars, I wouldn't mind seeing smaller modifications being made to the main game like Encore did with Mania Mode. Things like expanding Frozen Base Act 2 so it isn't just a brief shmup segment, allowing players to play both Frozen Base Act 1 and Act Tails instead of just one or the other, and including "arranged" music for Zones that got chiptunes. In fact, since we know there were unused "chiptune" versions of certain songs, it might be cool to have an option for alternate soundtracks like they eventually did with Colors Ultimate (Something like: Original Mix, Arranged Mix, Chiptune Mix). Adding more story scenes to create more context for the Last Story would be nice too.
😠Fang - If Bean & Bark don't show up on Sonic Superstars Plus to help me defeat Sonic and his friends their fired
If they bring back older levels it could lead to many many games reusing levels for a decade or more. I don’t want that to happen.
We can only hope. We need at least 3 enhanced versions of newer classic sonic games to be properly satisfied for the decade

Plus Dlc prediction
A new Classic mode that adds lives to the mix, with 3 random boxes becoming 1up boxes, a Option to use Knuckles Chaotix's act clear theme, as well as finally using the unused mania act clear theme for getting all the chaos emeralds.
Oh and 3 charaters to make a even eight, Mighty, Ray & The cool unused bird design, becoming a Rooster named Flock the Roost! He can fly like 3 times, has the highest jump & also can go into a run much faster.
Also only in classic mode, a 12th zone is in there, its Sleeping Egg Zone, but where it places in is randomised.
My idea for a superstars encore mode is that it brings Mighty & Ray back & they team up with Trip to fight maybe the hole hooligans team
I think that would be neat & we’d even a new trio team out of it

Anyways, I’m hoping they finish de-Sonic 4ing all the tracks, bug fixes, playable fang, among other things. Also, I want hyper sonic to return SO bad.
Superstars DLC is planned, however we don't know the scale of it. For all we know it's like the Frontiers free updates, that'll have multiple releases that add some stuff that should've been in the game at launch

@reisanaya It’s very obvious when you realize that Fang was completely reworked to be in a duo with Trip. And how the final boss in superstars has that sinister vibe of consequences awaiting to happen in the aftermath.

I mean I can actually can see a Superstars Plus. Mania Plus added a new story mode, some extra features that weren’t in the game original and Mighty & Ray. Origins Plus added Amy into all of the 4 main games and added Knux in CD (along with some extra game gear games and bug fixes)
I would like to think that for Superstars Plus:
Mighty & Ray extra story (along with Bark & Bean.) and maybe add more skins (new and old.) Such as: the adventure powerups (For the whole gain) maybe the comic exclusive skins could be free, maybe have the metal skins be playable outside of battle mode.
The release date could most likely come out by: Early or Mid 2024.
The perfect Superstars dlc would be Adding the classic chaotix with ray to against Fang,bean,bark,and maybe a upgraded mecha sonic and could have 6 or 8 new zones in it and could even have A new villian and it could cost around 20 bucks

I kind of want a playable Eggman DLC
They gotta add Fang and Metal Sonic and possibly Mighty and Ray. And add some more stuff. And for completing the new special stages I think they would give Sonic his Insta Shield and Peel Out. If they can, they should add the Super Emeralds. And maybe they don’t gotta turn him into Hyper Sonic. Cause they did say Northstar Island has some weird energy which is why the Emeralds have those powers so I think it would make sense if the introduced a new form. Like “Northstar Sonic”. Or something like that.

i feel like the chaotix have a slight chance of being playable because of the color of the two stars which are orange and purple which are the characters of espio and charms, or the purple can be playable fang, there’s just a lot of possibilities going on in my mind lol
There isn't much I want from a pseudo Sonic Superstars Plus other than Fang being playable, but lemme think of something:
Fang gets his own campaign (non canon for next reasons) where he fights against evil versions of Sonic and co, it's all a dream sequence but it works just the same. As for gameplay, it's up to you but I don't think Sega will let Fang deviate from the gameplay formula the other 5 characters follow.
A small challenge mode where Amy carries an armored Trip around harder obstacles, I think it's such a cool concept to let it rot, the hazards on Act Amy after Trip is on her back weren't that hard, I get why, but nonetheless I think it can work.
More skins could be ideal, especially for Trip because she has none, maybe some more concept art for skins could be nice.
Maybe fucking release the LEGO Eggman skin for once, being a pre order bonus is shit.
I think with Superstars and Fang, they want a part 2 to be a campaign that continues after the final boss, from Fang’s perspective.

What I like to see for Superstars DLC is a new story Champaign with the return of Mighty and Ray and have them tag along with the main cast but also give more story context on the whole deal with trips species and the black dragon
But one thing I’d really hope to see for DLC is an option to swap the style of music from Sonic 4-esque to Tee Lopes-ish. That way they can use it as an excuse to have composers make a more consistent ost

I don't know if SEGA would be called out for intentionally or unintentionally stealing if they took Fang’s galactic move set but it could work to keep the one-button rule in check, as for Metal Sonic I think they should release or update the game to have a Metal skin pack that lets you play as the metal version or even your Metal character from the battle mode if that game mode online servers are dead then you mine as well update it to where you can use the metal fighters in the main Champaign besides them appearing in sky temple and cyber station zone.
If they ever release a physical plus version, I really hope they don't make the mistake of origins plus which was that you had to use a download code for the rest of the ''plus dlc's'' which doesn't make sense if the cartridge even says sonic origins plus.
Mania plus did it right, everything was on the cartridge and/or disc.
I hope not since with every Plus release the returns can starting to dire (and die).
Mania Plus was stellar and SEGA saw that in the sales and wanting the physical added to it but now..

Bringing back hyper sonic isn’t a bad idea but probably bringing something similar like hyper sonic would be better I mean Sega did made super sonic 2 so another upgraded super sonic would be a amazing addition to superstars, especially for a plus version.
New music compositions for the tracks that did not meet the standard or some kind of juke box mode that lets you swap out the music with other tracks from the series or new compositions
I don't know if Sega will do it, I feel like the only reason mania and origins got a plus dlc was just to put it in store shelfs. I hope superstars does get a plus, but I don't know the game is already almost a year old and we heard nothing.

Sf if superstars plus was to happen the thing they need to add first before anything else is act 2 to levels with one act maybe a boss rush trip in co op time attack mode maybe they can make time attack like this one side mission in generations where you race a phantom sonic except this time you have to beat it with the fastest time maybe you can get new characters from it also the doublganger can be one of the metal robots you make the new characters i want in superstars plus are Honey the cat and i can keep the ones you listed the same but with 3 more characters mecha sonic and silver sonic and then a metal shadow maybe they can add a retro mode where lives are included and yeah let me know what you think of my idea oh one more thing i think it shouldn't be called plus it's redondent

Seems inevitable at this point. A Plus version also gives the game a second launch, since it apparently underperformed slightly below Sega's expectations.

I can 100% guarantee that if there is a plus it will not include Hyper Sonic or Super Emeralds, Sega are adamant on that staying dead which is a shame.

If it does happen then here’s my two cents. New Playable Characters I would really like to see Mighty and Ray come back ,and be playable ,and on top of that Metal Sonic ( yes I know we have him in the versus mode but I mean regularly) and uh that’s it for new characters .yeah there’s others like Espio Bark etc but those are the ones I would really like to see. on to modes let’s throw in an encore mode ,idk how you would make it not a copy from Mania,but I’d just think it be cool and ,uh yeah that’s all I have not much but I’d be happy if this was the end result.
Now for the super emeralds idea I don’t believe it would happen since it seems that sonic team has a hate boner for it so I thought of the chaos rings from chaotix that give abilities based on the elemental shields
Of course, Sega loves making plus versions for Classic Sonic games, Sonic Mania Plus and Sonic Origins Plus. I wouldn’t be surprised if we got Sonic Superstars Plus next year, but they’d have to fix a lot of things with the games in order to convince me to buy it.

We know how Fang met them. But the aftermath of the fang boss and the dragon boss is vague.

I can understand why you want Metal Sonic and Fang as playable characters. Sadly, that's probably not gonna work. Fang is already labeled as bad guy in this game's story, so that's one out. And Metal Sonic? Putting him along with cast, which are in really bad terms with him and considering he's Robotnik's creation - that will look super odd. And considering, this game has multiplayer (which let's face it, people prefer to play solo anyway due to how awkward multiplayer is) - yeah, it'll look more awkward. So why did Fang and Metal worked fine in Triple Trouble 16-bit? That's because, they're "Free Mode only" characters. As much as I hated Sonic 4, playable Metal Sonic did worked out well, because they did make his own Story Mode to showcase how Metal managed to catch up with Sonic and Tails after his defeat in Sonic CD. So, honestly I'm more leaning towards Mighty and Ray to return.
If you really want playable Metal and Fang, they should have own Story Modes to avoid any issues I mentioned.

I don't think we will get a Sonic Superstars Plus, simply because of how poor it did. Like 4,000 copies, compared to Mario Wonder and Spiderman 2 sales. Even if they fixed a lot of the issues like they did in Origins Plus, I guareente you not a lot of people would play it. Nick or GamerApologist said that games shouldn't rely on dlc or updates, and just let the game come out finished. Also check out Sunset City, it's a really good Sonic Podcast. They're absolutley hilarious.

I am honestly upset to have preordered the game and then found out Fang wasn't playable in it. But then, also-- he never once uses a gun of any sort in the game and so... I think they don't really know what to do about that. The cork gun was too silly, a realistic gun was too problematic. They might not want him to use a gun at all-- despite being allowed to shoot giant plasma rays at other characters from his bike.

Take what I’m about to say with a grain of salt. But I believe in leaked documents from investors meetings at SEGA, it mentioned Superstars would receive DLC next year. So Sonic Superstars Plus might be more likely than we think. Although I’ll say this again, take this information with a grain of salt. I could be very wrong.
Looking at Shadow Generations, it seems pretty clear on what they are planning with Fang.
