That is pretty much the premise of me wanting to start a YT channel but have procrastinating on. I turned sixty last summer and I have been shooting since my early teens later acquiring my first SLR early in high school and then my own darkroom setup in my junior year, so I have lots of information and knowledge I would like to pass on before I pass on so to speak... nothing is more valuable to the arts as giving knowledge to those looking to follow their own process in image making.
My first step in this process arrives tomorrow when I receive delivery to complete my camera scanning kits as I have hundreds of 35mm and 120 film negatives and slides I have shot dating back to the 70s. That and what I have done since going digital will hopefully get the ball rolling.

This was the top comment and it made me laugh. I have been working on starting a YT channel about life lessons I learned over 35+ years of taking pictures. What the experience taught me. The ups and downs. I also wanted to include the obstacles of being a woman and a gen x in a space dominated by millennials and gen z.

Photo hobbyist for the last 35-20 years, so never a business for me. All the same, I think the discussion about creating value with photography is so interesting. I think it could be the subject of a whole video or podcast series - I would certainly watch/listen!

I never reached a point of selling my photos. I capture emotion when I release the shutter. I try to end up with an image of " wanting to be there" in them. Like seeing an image of a forest path going off left or right with sunlight coming from that direction. Seeing a road go off, up, and over a hill.
When my images can make others feel what I get from them.
Think about paintings by artists. Good paintings cause an emotions.
There was a pro photographer writer for america's outdoor photography magazine. I read his column every issue. He became a mentor. He died suddenly, but his thoughts did help me " see " more.
He had a signature image he just "climbed" up into. In Nepal, he had climbed up a ridge and just at the top he see a once in a life time....dark clouded sky, bright ray of sunlight coming down on a monks convent with a rainbow. It " booms" out an emotion.
