    I’m 61, take my old camera with me probably all the time.
    I happened upon your channel and I thank you for your content.
    I at times get criticised bc I take photos of sand, dirt, items on the ground nature or not.
    So many things I see differently others find funny 🤷🏽‍♀️
    Regardless, your content is great and I appreciate you 🙏🏽

    Hi Kim, New to your channel & I must say it's a lovely change to the normal photo blogger channels, you discuss how you feel at the time of your video, detailing how sometimes it's ok to be less than enthusiastic as well as being super excited, this is a true reflection of our mental health just now.
    I have been an avid amateur photographer since purchasing my first SLR camera back in 1981 then moving to medium format then back to SLR before joining the digital age with my DSLR. which created a new found love of photography, no longer worrying about only having 36 exposure film or slides with my SLR or 10 or 8 shots with medium format roll films.
    Keep up the good work Kim with true to life vlogs. Kindest regards Phil.

    I have just come across this video and instantly recognised your location here. I have spent many summers on this beach and you have reminded me, that I have taken some gorgeous sunset photos here in the past.
    I used to be right into going out with the camera, however not so much anymore and I'm at the stage of giving up with it. But I must say, seeing this scenery again and your interesting take on something so simple, has given me some inspiration.
    I would just like to say, thank you for this! 🙂👌

    I haven't done a lot of macro photography, but focus stacking is definitely useful for that. I never thought of extending it's use to landscape photography, usually relying on a small aperture to keep everything in focus.

    Most people think of a cloudless sky to be a perfect sky, but not photographers! I much prefer living in Scotland with clouds making every shot different, to a featureless blue void.

    • @jimcoon
      @jimcoon ปีที่แล้ว

      I enjoyed your comment about clouds. I visited Scotland (I live in Oregon, US) when I was 18 years old. I am now 70. My great grandfather was born in the small town of New Deer. It rained buckets every day for the 2 weeks I was in your beautiful country - and I loved every day I was there. I remember the rock walls that served as pasture boundaries. I was mesmerized by the miles and miles of rock walls. Best to you and yours! Jim in Oregon

    • @MrGjcannon
      @MrGjcannon ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Jim
      Glad you enjoyed visiting Scotland. We call the rock walls 'drystane dykes'. Unfortunately, they're gradually dusappearing as farmers put fences up by them and don't repair falls, which must be a pretty labour intensive task.

    • @dadautube
      @dadautube ปีที่แล้ว

      well said ... "a featureless blue" sky is 'perfect' only when we want a totally clear blue sky in our image for whatever the reason ... otherwise, half-cloudy skies with that ever changing light and shadows, although making it a little too hard for getting the right exposure at times, it allows for a lot more different and beautiful shots actually ... timelapse videos also work great only under half-cloudy skies, especially when they are moving a little faster than normal ...

    I have been a commercial photographer for 47 years. I have learned to have one tripod that I only use in sandy/dirty type locations. Sand gets into everything dealing with the tripod legs. It is just about impossible to get the sand out. I also have one tripod that I use for everything else on location and one heavy tripod I use in the studio.

    Liked! Wonderful presentation. I especially appreciate how you worked with a beach, without using clouds or permanent terrain features, to be so very creative. Here on the upper Gulf Coast, of Texas, where flat coastal plain meets sandy and muddy beaches, there are no significant dunes, no tall trees, no rocks, and a minimal tidal range, but you have shown how to creative something so significant, with such simple, low terrain features. Thanks!

    Another super video, Kim, with a valuable message to get out whatever the weather.
    I had similar experience yesterday going out into the Lakes under a clear blue sky - I didn’t see anyone else with a camera, probably because a clear sky doesn’t typically lend itself to dramatic or moody landscapes. It made me focus on what was there, though, and I ended up with a few images I’m really happy and which are a little different from the norm!
