I put on drive up ramps backed up on ramps . Then used 2 Jack's to level it .on the front Then placed 2 jack stands under motor end while on Jack's and ramps as added security . Also if you have some card board or mats to put down for oil mess would be good
Free advice. I changed my z06 c7 oil last week and all went well except one minor issue that turned into a major problem . . While removing the oil.filter oil was running down my arm no biggie , but I was trying to not make a mess and did not realize the gasket from the old filter did not come off and I installed the. New gasket on the vehicle and added oil all while the oil filter had 2 gaskets . I started the car and it ran 20 Seconds and I heard a strange noise so I quickly shut it down . And when I got out of my car my garage floor was covered in full synthetic mobil 1 oil . After clean up and trouble shooting I found what I did wrong . So some free advice mess or no mess make sure you see the old gasket and clean up the oil filter area . Was tight fit under the car no excuse I should have known better. So if you wanna save yourself clean up time and money from having to buy more oil check your work and make sure old oil filter and gasket came off before adding g a new one.
While the oil is dripping out I punch a hole in the bottom of the oil filter and let it drip out as well. That prevents the oil leaking out and running down the side of the filter.

Yes so let oil warm up to temp then turn off car and check oil 5 minutes after turning it off

Yes because it pushs the oil to the back drain hole
The front drain is for the dry sump tank, the side drain is for the oil pan. Two separate oil containment.

I thought these cars had a pan or under side cover that covered all the underside??
