- Fix a Sagging Gate. This is really easy. I used a "kit," but you can buy the parts separately. The kit cost me $15 from Ace Hardware.
Get the kit here: www.amazon.com/National-Hardw...
Here is another video, showing detail on the top and bottom brackets.

$30 an like an hour of time fixed my sagging gates, and I have this video to thank. Thank you
Thank you for uploading!! I bought one, tried it out, fixed my issue!!
Very easy to understand! Clear instructions. Thank you!
Thank you so much!! Much easier, then the heavy brace, I purchased & less $$.
I did this about 7 years ago with two bolts and a ratchet strap. It's still holding up, amazingly. I need to fix my fathers gate tho and your vid will help me do it right this time. Thanks!
Edit: I get to do the thousandth like 😃🥳👍
Awesome video. Going to do this on the backyard door
Thanks. Great video.
Awesome video. Thank you sir
You turned the buckle towards you to tighten.
If the buckle was placed along the cable in the opposite direction (essentially backwards), one would have to turn it away from them to tighten.
EXCELLENT vid, thank you.
What a neat video. Thanks for the help. Now I just need to learn my tools....
Socket wrench in particular....
I can't stand not knowing how to do things for myself.
You saved a couple hundred bucks!!!!
Thanks brother
Thank you sir.
TY so much!!!👍👍
I understand that the gate sags because of the weight of the gate causes the hinges to sag/bend.
I was looking for a way to fix my gate with the hinges right off the bat. Would adding a higher gauge hinge / double hinges do the trick?
Hello, Can this product work on a vinyl gate?
How do u prevent it from warping after fixing the sag?
Not to be too nitpicky, but it is called a wire rope clip. The “saddle“ is just one part of it.
Often gates get a twist as well. This method works provided it doesn't increase the twist.
Looks like a great solution but it seems as though the gate has to be removed in order to screw on the bottom bracket.
I believe the 4 bottom bracket holes are on the side and in the front so no need to remove the gate.
I will shortly be producing another video that shows in more detail.
You right
My ex did this for my gate in the back yard but the threads pulled out and now the gate sags again. =/ I suggest using Lock tite red to keep the threads from pulling,
the cable will stretch in time so you have to leave enough thread to tighten it more when that happens or shorten the wire.
Lol he said nuts
Are you related to Mike Rowe??
You’ve got a voice like honey.
You are very kind! Best, Chris
Sounds like Mike Rowe!
@@dynamite7993 Wa-ha! I said that out loud while I was watching!
Brilliant!
Put a wheel instead 😂
Wish I could see where you attached the top. Never seen the whole gate.
Oh no now I have to make another video :) The little corner plate is the same at the top as it is the bottom. Best, Chris
Those gate kits can twist a gate permanently because they pull from one side.
Would it not be easier to cut a bit off the bottom of the gate?
There's always someone who tries to find the easy way out Mickey Mouse method......
But then your gate will still be sagging. The top part of the gate will still be uneven if you don’t lift it.
Eventually your latch won't match up. Then when you actually do fix it you'll have a big ugly gap at the bottom of your gate door.
Be careful of this Ace product! I will be returning mine tomorrow. The turnbuckle threads (on mine) are such that turning either direction in the middle pulls in on one end and releases the other an equal amount; thus no tightening is possible! One end is showing metal shards so it must have backwards threaded itself somehow. Must be very cheap construction.
This means you need to switch the screws: the hook screw in A side needs to go to B side, and the hook screw in B side needs to go to A side
