Have you ever considered writing a program for those of us that work 12 hour shifts? A LOT of police, fire, EMS, nurses etc work a 12 hour day and either only workout on days at work or on days off. Either way, a 2 week workout schedule looks something like this: Monday, Tuesday: workoutWednesday, Thursday: restFriday, Saturday, Sunday: workoutMonday, Tuesday: restWednesday, Thursday: workoutFriday, Saturday, Sunday: restAnd then the cycle repeats. I think you might find a fairly large audience for a program that takes advantage of this schedule. Thanks for all your great videos and motivation!
Maybe doing giant sets will cut the amount of time you'll ever need to spend in a gym. He has talked about it in a couple of past videos. In fact, I've started a linear program based on one of Brian's videos and if I am really short of time, I can just finish my main giants sets in 25 minutes and get out of the gym. It helps me not skip any training session at all, even when I have a packed schedule.
Check out Tactical Barbell? It's not sexy but it's created with active military and emergency service folks in mind, where the one commodity you all have in common is "inconsistent recovery." Like I said not sexy, very simple basic training, based on frequency and waving 3 week percentages, but it's field tested and evolved by active military and police and EMTs and the like year round. Worth a peak.
AllAroundG, that’s my biggest issue with most programs. I can’t do one day on one day off to allow for “normal” recovery of muscle groups. I have to do three days in a row then two rest days etc. I’ll check that one that. Thanks!
In my opinion, mine do man. The way I set it up you can literally go 4 days on/2 days off if you wanted to. it wouldn't be ideal but it can be done. When my schedule was worse than shift work this is how I lifted. All of the free programs I give out can be adapted to this if you know what you are doing. That is what I work with so many of you guys.
PSA: Brian's programs are LEGIT! Time is money. Brain power is money. Having Brian knock out a comprehensive program is worth ALL THE MONEYS! I don't know Brian except through email so I don't get anything in return for saying this. If you are on the fence or sceptical about buying a program: DO IT!!! You will not be sad you did!
I can personally say that I've ran Brian's programs for the last year. Been able to hit a 2,3,4,5 PR split. Definitely take what he has to say seriously as it will help you more than you think. Thanks again Brian.
I just want to thank you Brian for helping me get into the best shape of my life at 50yrs old...I get so much out of WHY you do things and you explain it well
You're truly great person Brian. You have helped me more than you will know. I hope to make it down your way some day soon (I am in the Pittsburgh area)
Make progress forever ! What a statement! I'm hitting the gym so hard tomorrow. Week two of my personalize program from my Big bro Brian!! Get with it people and train hard!! Big ups
this is awesome. been waiting for someone to make this type of video for a long time. I'm just over halfway done with the linear program I got from you last December. will definitely be in touch for the next block.
Brian, I'm sure this won't be the first time you've heard this, but, where were you 20 years ago when my only source was Arnold's Encyclopedia to Modern Bodybuilding? Great video! Makes total sense.
This is good to see because I got a conjugate program from you and already finished my first 12 weeks. I've started it again but was thinking of getting a 4 horseman and dark horse programs to throw in and keep things on rotation. Good to see your layout matches my thinking of that almost exact.
Ok. Just wrote mine up. I am definitely excited for this year if training. I'm going in this order. Powerbuilder (I'm going to rename this something horse related in my phone ) Horsemen Dark Horse Conjugate (Also going to horse this up,too)
I just finished your conjugate and I was feeling like a went through the ringer! Then after a deload week, I came back and my deadlift 1rm went up 60 lbs from 385 to 445. Haven’t tested the rest yet!
Awesome video. I hadn't even given this content much thought! I've been tweaking your conjugate program for the last 18 months or so. I just modify the exercises for each phase based on what I want to work on, or how I'm feeling. Even got my wife on version of it to fit her goals! But a change is needed, been feeling 'topped out' for a bit now. Time to shoot you and email!
Awesome video! This is exactly the info I’ve been looking for. Been feeling bored/beat up with my current program I’ve been running since September. I didn’t know what go on to for the summer but now I have some ideas. Thanks!
I swear you put out this video the week before I'm getting done with a program LOL perfect timing. I was seriously going to ask about all of that! Awesome video, looks like I got homework to do. Your knowledge and your inspiration definitely makes you a hell of an appreciated man bro thank you. Are you feeling any better?
Must be early in the morning there, yet here he is, staying awake, and even upload a new vid with all its treasure to share with us. Can't thank you enough, Brian. BTW, have you heard about Flow state or zone by Mihaly? Might wanna make program for yourself and your athletes base on that.
You said you don't have AC, but do you have heat in your gym? The winter sucks way more than summer for me with no heat. I have to warm up our barbell with a propane torch if I want to be able to not wear gloves! Lol! Also movement in 2-3 layers of sweats is difficult. So excited for spring!
Hey Brian, thanks for sharing your annual layout. I've got a 12 week program from you that I'm waiting to heal up from some "tweaks" to start, and we had already talked about what to run afterwards that I could cycle back and forth with. I know you mentioned your goals video, which was awesome (already got my calendar for tick marks!), but I wanted to know if or how you adjust each block based on your goals for that year/season? I have some big 2019 goals, but I know that you suggest setting more short term attainable goals instead of monster far-out goals, so that you don't constantly change direction or focus and never achieve. Just take it slightly differently each season? Appreciate all your content and sharing knowledge brother.
Great stuff Brian. I wanted to ask ur permission to get the die empty logo with the rage quote tattooed on my back. I know that's ur stuff so thought I would ask first. Thanks brother!
Good video man! I wanted to ask what do you thing about kind of evoluting your program as a time goes...like you never change programs like separate things, you just change different reps schemes and exercises through the whole year...so the program is slowly changing all the time...does it make sence?
I've been wanting to do a conjugate program from you. I have bands and some chains but my rack has no holes for pegs. I have to go outside in the grass to deadlift so I don't break my floor.
I did a type of smolov for a year, when I reached my peak of strength I felt brutal, congestion, explosiveness, but after 6 months of that force peaks, I only lost strength, ruined my squat (I have trouble controlling it), and my bench press ... since this week I've already lowered the volume by half ... I knew I had to change it before, but I became addicted to that destruction
Depends on if you know your body. I know when mine is starting to top out. If you are so new that you don't understand what is going on then run it dry man.
Why is this not the only video involving rhino molestation? It’s a great analogy to be fair. I also remember you touching on something similar to this topic in a Q and A, I’m glad this got a full video (even if it’s a year or two after you mentioned it). Great video brother!
I like Brian, but this guy is throwing around words as if everyone knows what he's talking about...like what exactly is conjugate? 4 horseman? Dark horse? Like bro, not everyone even knows what these are
If you say bodybuilding three videos in a row, Jujimufu will appear out of nowhere like Beetlejuice

Agreed. I'm an EMT, and coming off a 24hr shift and trying to work out sucks.

I cannot imagine why anyone would dislike this video. Must have been a mistake!

Absolutely man and contests mess a lot of things up as well so those have to come into account.
Great stuff Brian. I wanted to ask ur permission to get the die empty logo with the rage quote tattooed on my back. I know that's ur stuff so thought I would ask first. Thanks brother!
I would be honored man!
@@BrianAlsruheOfficial Thank u!
I F#$*ING HATE watching commercials, but you're worth it, dude. OH GOD MAKE KARLIE KLOSS GO AWAY!
It is how I keep these things free man, I am sorry.
Brian Alsruhe I know it! That’s why I watch ‘em. I still want to hire Amanda Bynes to neck punch Karlie Kloss, though.
Good video man! I wanted to ask what do you thing about kind of evoluting your program as a time goes...like you never change programs like separate things, you just change different reps schemes and exercises through the whole year...so the program is slowly changing all the time...does it make sence?

The Sandlot! Classic!
Great Catch!

Man your getting close to that 150000 subs
I stopped checking, I honestly have no idea where I am at
Brian, do you have any advice on neck training? Doing it safely and smartly, for those of us who dabble in rugby and boxing?
I've always just done bridging man, nothing with weights.
@@BrianAlsruheOfficial I'll give it a go, thank you for listening :)
Power!
Thank Stefan !
Hey Brian! Do you think its enough to have a yoke or squat stand instead of a power rack?
If your Yoke has tall enough uprights then yes.
Did you run a year long smolov variation or did you just cycle the program over and over again?
sounds brutal
What if after 12 weeks you are still feeling ok and gains are still coming in?
I would keep on it so I don't "fix what isn't broken"
I’d say try it for another month and go from there
Depends on if you know your body. I know when mine is starting to top out. If you are so new that you don't understand what is going on then run it dry man.
Can a program be just as effective again if its done after a long break?
Eg: after doing a different 12 week program then coming back to it again.
Absolutely man
Which of your programs would you recommend for women who’re beginning to lift?
Linear would probably be best.
Brian Alsruhe I appreciate your response!!
Where would you put your linear progression from way back? :)
With beginners brother. Or in the technique phase
It's awesome that you are more athletic than some crossfit loonies in my gym
Thanks man!
0:01~0:04 How Brian teaches physics :)

I'm surprised there isn't any everyday carry in there. By the way, I would love to see a more specific strongman program.
