3 of my shirts shrunk more than a full size in the dryer and I thought I was going to have to throw them out. This worked perfectly. After washing them now I just hang them to dry to make sure they don't shrink again.
One thing that you should learn: most clothes have a near the bottom that tells you (in symbols) how to wash and dry, wether to iron, etc. Just look online for “laundry symbol chart”. This is usually the method to wash clothes and have them stay their best
im boutta do this: edit: i’ve submerged my shirt under the conditioner, i’ll be back in an hour edit: just finished stretching it out, time to see how it ends up after air drying edit: its been 24hrs and it worked! My shirt feels a lot more lose and not tight on my chest!
Are the effects permanent or have you had to keep air-drying the shirt. I like my clothes dried in the dryer and want to know If I'll have to always air dry my stretched shirt
@@MrButterInaCan honestly after i heard about the benefits of air drying my shirts i haven’t used the drier on them since. I would imagine if you do decide to use the drier, they would end up shrinking again and you would have to repeat the process.
Great basic and straight to the point video. I tested this out on two t-shirts I have one old and the other fairly new both were a little tight across the chest and shoulders. This way of stretching worked perfectly, so just wanted to say thank-you. 👍😁
I ordered two diff vintage shirts that i love off grailed and being a dummy thinking “oh it says size L and looks big enough i should be all good” Not realizing i should have checked the measurements. Only about an inch needed rlly on the chest (pit to pit) area. I gotta try this asap. Major props for being quick and straightforward !
i have about a handful of clothing that needs to be stretched. never tried them on when i got them in primark. gonna try this method now. seems very straight forward. thank you ! honestly thought i was at a loss after spending a small fortune on them. now i know ill never be at a loss again !!
I'm about to try this with a Giorgio Armani hoodie which I've purchased in the biggest available size (XXL) knowing full well that they always run small. It is due here in a week, I'll do this trick and check back in to let you know how I went with it!
I have a beastars shirt that is a size too small now because of the gym, and this worked! There's actually air flowing through the shirt and it's not choking me! It's almost a size up. Granted a year from now its not gonna fit and will have to turn into a cutoff tank, but this works for getting the most of of your clothes! Any conditioner works. Thank you dude!
If the shirt has any graphics like that was probably ironed on will it mess up? I got a slipknot hoodie about a year ago and I don’t wanna mess it up :(
I am using this on tight pj pants that I really hate but I will do a update soon!! Update:so I just rolled it with the towel and stretched hopefully i will see the results once it drys!
yes, if you use hot water for washing and then a hot dryer you can lose most of your stretch. To keep your stretch only wash in cold water and then air dry.
Does a website exist where you can choose the exact size of the sleeves, collar, etc. individually? Normally they just have small, medium or large. But I'm fussy, I want each part to be the exact size I like.
Will it work on something more concentrated. I have a pair of shorts with a really tight waistband strip that runs thru it. I don't want to cut it because then they will be too loose, but will this process stretch something that typically wasn't meant to stretch out?
It depends on the fabric content of the shirt and also if it is knitted or woven. Knitted polyester shirts are much harder to stretch. Woven shirts are next to impossible. Most dress shirts are woven. But even woven blue jeans (cotton) stretch or shrink.
I love how straightforward this is. Thanks Chad.
So good. Other people would drag this on for 10 minutes
Its helpful bc of that.
It also works well with just room temperature or luke warm water✌🏼 I think that also puts less stress on the fibers of the shirt than using hot water
will it work with cold water? i had to use the hose lol
@@hahppyhour5380the cold water will probably firm the fibers in the shirt and make it hard to stretch
Fabric softener works too.
Doesn’t warm water shrink clothes?
thats only dryers on high heat and it always depends
Thanks so much for this tutorial! I love how you didn’t spend too much time talking about things that don’t matter

With cold water??
Did it stay loose permanently?
Thank you ❤

Does it work on a new cotton t shirt ⁉️
Goat
If it works on my.cotton shirt I'll either dry clean it or wash in cold water and air dry

Thank you for this. Also i think stretching the armpit part of the tshirt would give a more natural baggy look, as some t-shirts are small in bust
Thank you! I found a KISS shirt I got at a show in 2011 and wanted to breathe some new life into it.
Man your two videos have been ultra helpful for me these last few days. I hope you upload again soon 🥺
that's what i'm saying! he only has 2 videos but both are so clutch!

will it retain this shape or just snap back smaller once washed again?
This worked very well for me. Thank you so much!
Did the size stay the same after washing again?
Thanks
Love the camera work and the thorough explanation, will definitely try this with a hoodie of mine! 🤍
Thanks Tamara! I appreciate it.

Does this only work with cotton shirts or could it be used for athletic shirts as well?
you just wear it without a rinse of the conditioner?
Currently trying this method out with a costume that fitted a little tight, so I’ll update if it works, material of the costume is lycra
how did it go?
So? Did it work?
Never would’ve thought of this!! Def gonna try
Earned a sub! Very direct and straight forward
Thanks for the heads up I'm going to try it. I bought three blouses and they're too clingy thanks Sandra
Thanks so much for the video, it seems like it worked great! Are most shirts fine to wash after you let them dry out?
Thanks so much! From my experience, yes.
It works thank you so much 😊😊

Great video. Straightforward as shit. Thank you.
What happens after you wash it? Does it shrink back to regular size or is there a way to keep it stretched?

It really works thanks alot mate
Does it stay that big or do i have to do the whole prozess over again when i want to wear it?
After a few washes it may shrink back down. I think it depends a lot on the t-shirt make
Just avoid putting it in the dryer, and let your clothes air dye from now on.
Just try to wash it at lowest temperature possible and always air-dry it
You can let it soak for 20 minutes it works as well
did it go back to its original size after it was washed?
U ain’t jus a chad ur a gigachad for this
Will try this tomorrow and update how it went
So did it work?
Wow. Thanks for sharing this information, Chad.
Will this damage a graphic tee? (I have some hot topic and Spencer shirts I bought only like, a week ago and I don’t wanna risk damaging the desgin)
Could I use fabric softener instead of conditioner? Also, will machine washing shrink the shirt back to its original size?
yes, washing machine would shrink it!!
fabric softener works great. Wash it cold and air dry flat or on a hanger to prevent shrinking
Thanks Chad👊😎
Does anyone know how ling it keeps the stretch?
Isn't the conditionner gonna discolor the clothing piece?
Question: Will it remain this way after being washed (regular cold machine wash), or do I need to do this every time I want to wear it? Thanks
what happeneds when you wash it and dry it, does it go back to its original fiber length?
yes, if you use hot water for washing and then a hot dryer you can lose most of your stretch. To keep your stretch only wash in cold water and then air dry.
great video!
Can I confirm that the sizing is done according to where you stretch? I'm not looking to turn a medium into a large, just a little extra belly space.
I thought hot water shrinks more. U should instead use cold water.
Trying it now. Im trusting your process🤞
does this work on sweatshirts? The neck area is too small needs to be stretched everywhere else is perfect.
How long do you pull on the shirt and I wonder if you could put the shirt in the doorway with the door closed and then pull on it?
Does a website exist where you can choose the exact size of the sleeves, collar, etc. individually? Normally they just have small, medium or large. But I'm fussy, I want each part to be the exact size I like.
Won’t the clothing item feel greasy/silky as it’s been soaking in conditioner?? If so, how do I make it not feel this way?
wash it after it dries
@@eluxy5355 won’t that just shrink it again though??
Does the type of conditioner matter? Does it have to be a powder base like you use or can it be liquid??
will it go back to how it was if i wash it?
Very simple I like it:)
No one mentioned the globs of conditioner that attached to shirt, what do I do with that?
Incorporate it in the water more
thank you Chad !!! 👍

Probably not going to work on a polyester jacket that is most likely woven and not knitted.
How long or how many times should you stretch out the shirt before drying it out ?
