- If your clothes are too small, there are a few ways to upsize them or make them bigger so they fit you properly. I'm going to make these jeans bigger to show you that with a few guidelines and a little creativity, you can upsize your too small clothes.

I have purchased a few denim pieces from the thrift store that I really liked, that were too small. I have made a few of them larger, but used the side seam. I'm going to try it with the front addition.
what did you add to the side seam?
I have to go at english class and my jeans don't fit me😫😫
@@illestj3990 take the seam at the side out add denim or camouflage or a tie from the waist to wherever you need the added material. You can add it all the way down if you want. Also elastic waist bands from old clothes like skirts to the sides so that I have more stretch in the waist.

Rebecca Jones, I am in the opposite direction but tired of the "taking in seams" LOL. Now I can "downscale" using one of the methods in this video and have something different :-)

I like the breakaway look too! Normally this would be out of my comfort zone, but I can see from the knee down (for me). Now I understand the use of the snap fabric. Very creative!

I can't tell you how often people have given me their kids old clothes "...because you are so tiny!" I'm petite, but haven't been THAT tiny since I was a kid myself! If I like the fabric, or want to snatch the buttons, I keep it. Otherwise, I donate what I don't want for scraps.
I have shorts I have had many years that are so comfortable but don't fit my waste. They are striped but I don't like side stripes. Thought I was going to make an exception with these shorts and have a stripe on the side. Haven't been able to convince myself that I would actually wear them with side stripes so I just stare at them on the shelf. Thanks to your video, I am going to be wearing those shorts again this week! Yesss!

Omgosh I’m feeling incredibly blessed and excited to have found you and your amazing channel! In Canada we’ve lived through pretty much 2 years of lockdown with brief breaks sporadically. Locked at home with 3 kids (who I love beyond words to explain) no possible escape or personal/social interactions and no income during this period I have gained an obscene amount of weight! No longer had money to buy healthy nutritious fresh ingredients so had to rely on cheap prepackaged everything paired with new mental health struggles when I somehow decided to eat my feelings. Now things are definitely improving, in I hazard to say post pandemic Canada, but still need to deal with all the issues that time period caused. Although now back to having income the debt is soul crushing and literally no clothing I own comes close to being able to be pulled up let alone fitting. Due to massive pandemic debt I can’t even afford donation or thrift store items of clothing. After watching this awesome video my eyes are opened for the first time to possibilities I could never have dreamed of before! Wish I had better words than to thank you. I sincerely and wholeheartedly appreciate your personality, vision,skillset, thoughtfulness, kindness and willingness to show the world all of this. Thank you.

I thrifted a pair of really cute shorts last winter but they were a tad too small, but they had a back design that I had never seen before so I had to have them. If I get around to altering them I can finally wear them out next summer, thank you for the tutorial!

I love your videos! You have inspired me a lot! I have been learning to sew the past few years and this is pretty much all I do re-size my clothes and upcycle them! I love your channel! I just did a project where I sewed bigger pockets on the inside of my jeans, using a bandana. Its actually not hard! great job on this video, I will definitely do this!
YES thank you for this🙏😩 My weight change like a rollercoaster haha, and since I started with my meds I have gained alot and basically all my bottoms are too small. But now I’ll try to make some of them bigger and more exclusive and more creative😊

Love this upcycle ! Really cool results I was thinking once I saw the finished product that I might be cool do attach the snap closure with a curved edge resembling a slimmer leg . The black would act like a silhouette on the denim then which I think would be a really cool aesthetics and contrast . Just to add a little spice !

I found some jeans at the thrift store that had the cutest pattern that was 1 size too small but I couldn't leave behind. This is so helpful im excited to be able to have the chance to wear them after I fix them

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this rework. I have a pair of red and black basketball pants like these and I want to do something dope with them because they have to be altered anyway. This is definitely an option to consider. ☮️n🙏🏾s

I have a pair of cords I need to let out. An idea just came to me as I watched you cut and prepare the jeans. I will be looking for a black piece of fabric to add to cords.
I cut pieces for a pair of pants two years ago but never got to sewing them, since then I gained a few pounds and my morphology kind of changed so I don’t think they would fit me if I sew them now, I’m happy I found an alternative !
From all the tutorials I watch, I always come back to yours!! You rock! You make the coolest clothes and even if I’m not copying yours, it gives me so much inspiration to come up with new ideas !!!
