I just wash the item, stretch it while it’s wet, and air dry. The key is to remember to never machine dry it.

This absolutely works. I bought a AMI Paris sweater from Poshmark. I wear a large (40-42) and the Poshmark description was the same, but when it arrived it fit like a SMEDium lol. I did this method, but the AMI Paris sweater is so well made the material isn’t very elastic even wet/ damp. So when it was 3/4 dry, I put the sweater on and did some extreme stretching … I crouched down and pulled the sweater over my knees and stretched the length .. did this for the back by wearing the sweater backwards. This elongated the length evenly. I then put my elbows in the chest area and spread my arms/ elbows apart and repeated around the obliques. Allowed it to air dry flat and there is so much room it’s even baggy.

Simply wash your shirt with other clothing as usual. Toss it in the dryer for 5 minutes with other clothing to prevent wrinkling. Take the shirt out while it's still damp and warm from the dryer. Stretch it gently then shake the shirt and hang to dry. Works like a charm.

I bought a *brand new* leather biker jacket from Poshmark for $80 - the girl originally paid $200.
It’s size Small, she said it “fit” her but was pretty tight when crossing arms in front, zipping up etc. Well, it *was* brand new and stiff but she never took the time to wear it. Her loss, my gain ✌🏽
Tutorial on TH-cam said throw leather jacket in washing machine - hear me out! - with fabric softener *only* - no detergent.
Run its cycle, take out.. put it on over thick hoodie or sweater. It’s a bit heavy, wet and uncomfortable but not terrible.
Zip it up and go at it with tons of arm and back stretches for several minutes, working on loosening it up.
Take it off and let it completely air dry.
Worked like a charm w zero damage to leather jacket!! I went to her YT channel to comment & thank her! 😎

Rinse the conditioner out with cool water. Put the wet shirt, sweatshirt, whatever item you like, on your body after soaking. Pull your arms inside the body of the shirt and press to sides, forward and back to stretch. Additionally, grab the outside of the shirt with your hands and pull outward around the body/torso and the bottom of the arms. For the arms put two arms into one sleeve and pull apart or, while still wearing the item, pull your left arm out of the left sleeve, so it's in the body of the shirt, reach cross and work your left hand down along your right arm inside the sleeve...repeat this action the other side. Don't forget to push outward at the shoulder seams as well. Do this in front of the mirror until you get to look you want. If the shirt can be stretched this method will definitely work.
You can do the same thing with pants just think about putting your arms down inside the top of the wet pants and working down the legs. Then grab the outside seams of the pants and pulll to stretch further. Remember you are wearing the wet pants the entire time. Also slowly bend and stretch your body into more extreme positions, like squat and lunge, to stretch the the crotch another areas more thoroughly.

I like to re-stretch mine on a wire fence in a shaded area. it offers many points to attach clips (metal "binder clip" paperclips work well) and offers good air flow. Slower dry, with less temperature fluctuation works best. It is not just heat that shrinks things, but quick temp eratire changes as well. if stretching wool, soaking in a mild borax solution (tsp per gallon or so), or hair conditioner, or lanolin (in similar proportion recipe) will soften the fibers and prevent damage from stretching. In those low proportions, rinse is not needed, as they are safe for skin contact even without diluting.
I have stretched a LOT of wools. sweaters I buy several sizes larger and shrink them on purpose. It tightens the weave and makes some knits thicker.

    Good video.
Question: You did the 30 minute soak, then you wring the shirt out, and then rolled it in the towel. But I didn’t see you rinse the conditioner out. So do you leave the conditioner water in the shirt, or rinse it out then let it dry with the conditioner in the fabric? I watched the video a few times and I never see you rinsing out the conditioner solution.
    Thanks in advance!

Just tried this on clothes that I machine dried and clothes that shrunk from a long time of not wearing. Confirmed it works and lasts. I just washed the clothes that I conditioned and thought the conditioned particles would be washed away. It didnt.
From a scientific standpoint, i think this makes sense because the clothes that get machine dried lose their humidity and the clothes that shrunk from a long time of not wearing get dried out and stale from being in a place like Southern California. Thats why I've always heard this common rhetoric to wear your clothes to sustain them. It's because the water from our body sustains those clothes. I'd imagine clothes that get dried out need conditioning every so often. I dont know how this is not a more commonly-done maintenance process, but it should definitely be a yearly task for everyone to do to keep their clothes as long and as fresh as possible.
