    Few years ago, my university had exchange program with Japanese students, so they went to Sarawak to experience the culture, education and food. I noticed that even the Malaysian food are spicy or not suitable with their taste, the Japanese students always finished the food and did not leave any leftover. When I watch you really enjoy the nasi dagang, I suddenly thought of my Japanese friends😊😂

      @Samurai Life of Stay At Home Dad Try another rice dish. its called Nasi tumpang. Native to the state of Kelantan. Its compacted rice wrapped in banana leaf and shaped like a Cornetto ice cream. compacted with the rice is omellette, choice of cooked in coconut milk n at the tail end is the best part chicken flakes or fish flakes.

      Nasi Dagang is native to Kelantan and Terengganu, it's not Terengganu signature dish. it's look similar but can be differentiated. Basically Kelantan's is served with gulai kuning ikan tongkol , Gulai Udang, Gulai Itik Serati and ayam, like this gentleman eat.Kelantan Nasi Dagang has their own rice, and it's quite challenging to cook. Terengganu rice is quite easy to cook and become the popular one.

    Nasi dagang is a dish that is well known in the east coast states of Terengganu and Kelantan. However they slightly differ from each other in terms of how it is prepared and served. I am from Terengganu, and traditionally, nasi dagang is always served with gulai ikan tongkol (or ikan ayer in local east coast dialect) which is tuna fish curry. I enjoy mine without the acar, but that is personal preference.. oh, please do try to eat local rice dishes with your hands.. more exciting experience when you feel the food with your own hands. Brother, try nasi dagang original.
    With tuna fish, thick gravy and pickles. Trengganu or Kelantan style. No beef no chicken.
    Original nasi dagang is tuna and pickles only. Superb.
    Selamat Datang to Malaysia 🇲🇾 and wish you pleasant travel experiences. Malaysia Truly Asia 👍

    Yes Malaysia is a very well balance place to live in. Slower pace. We have concrete high rise building and also a lot of nature. If you have chance make a trip to Penang. Every year Bon Odori event is celebrated. A lot of delicious food ☺️

    Terengganu's ver the rice is white served with 'lauk/gulai ikan tongkol' and 'acar', while Kelantan's the rice is commonly red and served, well it kinda you choose what you want from a variety of 'lauk/gulai' available, it doesn't really comes with 'lauk ikan tongkol'/tuna. I might be wrong with Kelantan's ver, but that is how I usually have it over there

    • @pudinichigo91
      @pudinichigo91 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, youre right, but for the gulai/lauk here in kelantan we also serve nasi dagang with fish curry/gulai ikan tongkol

    There are two versions of nasi dagang. Kelantan version and Terengganu version. The one that you tried I think the Kelantan version because that restaurant in Pantai Dalam serves Kelantanese food. The best one for my taste is the Trengganu version. The authentic nasi dagang is served with tuna fish. Chicken is common but not authentic. It's a recent addition. Next time you try nasi dagang you should try it with tuna. Happy discovering new things in Malaysia! 🙏

    Actually there is another version of Nasi Dagang. Served with Gulai Ikan Tongkol with fresh chillies, Acar and Telur rebus. And..nice to have kopi o instead of teh tarik 😁 Next time u can try to have Nasi Dagang at Kafe Masakan Terengganu Asli in Bandar Kinrara. Don't forget to order Keropok Lekor. They will serve u the fried, hot and fresh. U can tapaw Kuih Akok also. If u're lucky, try out Kaki Keramat and dip in your Kopi O. 😊

    You can made ACAR by yourself. The main seasoning is SALT, SUGAR and RICE VINEGAR.
    You can choose the ingredients such as PINEAPPLE, CUCUMBER, CABBAGE, CARROT, BOMBAY ONION and TURNIP.(sliced all into smaller strips). Just marinate for 1 hour and you can serve with rice. It's just like a SALAD.
