By the sounds of it triumph has really stepped up their game and pushed the speedy into that hyper naked sector, alongside the Superduke and Aprilia and even street fighter V4. Good job triumph
Nice review on that awesome machine Dan. I love Triumph's so much. They all look great now. That bike has definitely plenty of go in it. Sound's amazing to. Good job sir.
Thanks for a another great review EnglishbikerDan, think I would stick with a 765 Street triple, this bike kinda scares me! Bike looks fantastic though!
Rear seat cowl has something of the Starship Enterprise about it! Honestly, most sci-fi rear seat cowl I have ever seen. Time to buy some ventilated kit whilst it’s cheap and on special offer.
Thanks for the review! Nice to hear the suspension isn't as harsh as others have made it out to be. Maybe Triumph made some adjustments following the initial reviews. I'm picking up my sapphire black RS this Sunday!
Hi, enjoyed the video and recognised the roads as they are very familiar to me, strange that I like to ride my 1200rs through the same stretch past odium and the raf base. I would recommend the extra two front screens not only do they help with the wind blast but make the front of the bike look much better. The Triumph heated grips are also very good especially now as the temp has dropped.
It's handful in a good way what a machine I'd luv to own one of these and who knows maybe I will make the leap ,don't know if I would do it justice though .Nice on e Dan .Cheers : )
Thanks so much for reminding us all of long hot summer evenings! I love the look of this bike and it's nice to see a review saying the suspension isn't too harsh and hard. Personally I wish Triumph had done a less track focused R model (previously owned a base model 1050) but no they go with RS and now more extreme position RR. Thanks for the review, holding onto my MT10 a little longer I think.
@@gamekeeper687 It's simply less choice for the customer and means folks with a smaller budget will go to an alternative brand. Triumph's choice of course.
@@Banditmanuk fair point, in my time with the brand at a dealer we only sold maybe 2 S’s out of let’s say 50 Speed Triples sold (previous gen) so I can see why they’re cutting those losses and focusing on the single model
You can do but it’s not much different tbh , to get it really soft you have to go to a specialist but if you soften it too much it’ll dive when you’re braking , my advice would be to live with it … it’s not TOO bad after a few weeks of owning it I can say that from personal experience 👍
So, I own a Ducati V4s, Ducati 1260s, triumph 1200 rs and don’t fool yourself into believing the 1200 RS isn’t a race/track bike. I own an American version of the triumph and it has an aftermarket exhaust snd airfilter. The bike will easily knock the hell out of some big players on a track. People that complain about the suspension, well, they’ve never adjusted a manual suspension. This bike is way more of a beast than what people seem to make of it. Also, the journalists that are seemingly scared of this bike snd talk this this bike is scary, stay off this bike. I been doing 60mph in 2nd gear snd snd the electronics of the bike all but prevented A wheelie. But don’t act like this bike is not user friendly, please. This is by far the best sports bike triumph has ever made. I’ll be making a video in America “Leviathanarmy” to demonstrate this awesome bike. This is just the most awesome bike for the money, snd not even the money, just best bike for value. Great bike. More vids to come. I have a straight line snd cornering vid vs. a Ducati 1099. Enjoy.
I have a 2005 GSXR Hayabusa I know it's like comparing apples to oranges but I can't ride the Hayabusa anymore back wrist shoulders are just in too much pain I don't want to be in pain I'm looking for the sickest bike for the streets don't say KTM 1290 Super Duke I want something more reliable but yet upright you think this would be a good choice for me remember I'm coming from a Busa and how does this compare to an mt-10 how's the low-end power.
Glad to hear the suspension isn't as track orientated as other reviews have indicated. Also that there seems to be reasonable power across the range. I'd be interested to know if there's a Triumph cowl fairing like that off the Thruxton would fit as the position looks a bit exposed.
Great review! I am thinking about upgrading from my Honda cb650r to this monster. Since you have ridden both I am wondering is the Speed Triple RS too much for the street? Thanks in advance!
In all honesty, yeah it's overkill. The fun part of this bike is far beyond what is sensible on the road. But, we all enjoy different things so it might float your boat!
I’d definitely say demo one ☝️ you’ll love it honestly, it’s fast but it’s also quite friendly to ride , the fuel ⛽️ consumption is the scary part , put £15 in then go for a ride you’ll be stopping for fuel again 1/2 later lol 😂 but yeah it’s absolutely incredible to ride huge smiles and fun 🤩 it’s quite comfy too 👍
It's an awesome bike, but there's so much power there, it's harder to have as much fun as a lesser bike, at least on the street, but you kinda know that going in. I left mine on the stiff suspension settings, as I already have another squishy bike. I have lifted the front in 2nd gear several times accidentally, I can't imagine wanting more power. The steering takes more effort than my middle weight bikes, but I like that. The 765 was _way_ too tipsy, imho. Biggest 1200RS complaint is the tiny UI on the screen and UI button interface, the original '18 765 had a vastly better UI design.
guess it is about it's being neither fish nor flesh (ABS on track...) that it is falling back the direct competitors u get 4 alike price in certain tests.
This must be some engine. Too much for me, I regret. If I was 15 years younger ... Nice TFT, although I don't like the overall styling. Maybe it's the headlights. I'd rather have a mark 3 MT-09, and that has an odd light. Interestingly, the looks of the Speeed Triple started growing on me during the course of the review. Nice jacket: what is it please? I also get hay fever. Good review.
Yes 🙌🏼 you can save me lol , which dial is the pre load the black dial or the gold dial on the rear shock and which way to make it softer ?? I’ve tried it but it’s still too firm ,😥
@@pcarts232 the confusion I believe with this bike is that the rear shock is actually under sprung for most riders in general and so is working at the bottom of its stroke! I’m 14 stone for reference and started finding mine too harsh after a good few rides out and knew it wasn’t right at all! I took mine to a suspension specialist and after measuring rider sag, actually found mine was sat at bottom of stroke with my weight and riding the bump stop frequently causing that harsh feeling everyone complains about with this bike! That road from Odiham to Alton is great. There are some really stunning roads south/east of Alton too. That's normally where I go for a weekend blast.

With fully adjustable suspension like that you should surly be able to soften it up enough to suit bad roads or lighter riders etc
It was perfectly setup for the road. Track people would want it stiffer though.
