Mark Hollis, with David Sylvian, amazing voices, so underrated in there musical talents. Mark brought so much pleasure to so many , no thrills just wonderful music . Rip man.
He had a great sound aswell ! It sometimes sounds as if he is playing fretless, but he's not . He just had that ability to make a fretted bass sound like a frettless....Brilliant 👌
Oh, God, his voice! And not only is his music ageless, the way he looked never dates either. He didn't conform in any form or fashion. Unique and irreplaceable. The world is an emptier place without him. He's gone home now, back to where his genius came from. Love you Mark.

This was just two weeks after Live Aid. Talk Talk did not appear that day but the lineup was very tight and many great bands did not make the cut. (Despite the movie, Queen were not the headline act. David Bowie, Elton John and Paul McCartney all appeared after. My personal favourite that day, which I watched live, was U2, with their 12 minute version of Bad. Legendary). Still, what a summer of music. So many great acts around then. Talk Talk are at least remembered by many now with lots of new fans. Can't say that for many of the 80s acts.

Just because I was there, a few hints. It was aroynd 16.30 and Mark was facing the sun. Half of the set he was holding a beer! Mesmerizing beautiful set of songs. And that comes from a heavy metal fun! Loved it
