Every doctor will admit that every surgery carries a risk. They are right. Because of that risk, your doctor should try EVERY other method to help you before surgery. Make sure you have tried everything else to help your sinuses before you commit to something as serious as surgery. Any doctor who suggests surgery before exhausting all other options is being inexcusably reckless with the life of his patient.
Thanks u sooo much ma'am ..i just have my septoplasty and turbinate reduction surgery...but i still have lot of swelling ...inside and out side of nose
I have extreme OCD. Is there a way to get a full or total Rhinectomy without having cancer in the nose? It doesn’t make sense except to those with OCD.
I had a surgery done four years ago to my sinuses, specifically turbinoplasty on the inferior turbinates. Because of that operation I received Empty Nose Syndrome (ENS). I suffer from daily nerve pain, dry nose, anxiety from the paradoxical feeling that I don't get enough air to my nose. Think carefully before you do any operation to your nose (on turbinates and near them) , you can be at risk for ENS!!
i wish i didnt have my septoplasty and inferior turbinate reduction done.it caused me a lot of suffering from empty nose syndrome.2 ents told me both my inferior turbinates where reduced about 25 to 30 %.my surgeon didnt tell me about ens risks😠😧.now i constantly suffer.
Please do not do the turbenoplasty. Turbinates are not just useless chunks of meat in your nose. They are actually very important to the function of breathing. They help prevent infections, warm the air for your lungs, and help you detect your air. I am willing to bet the doctor did not tell you this. Look it up for yourself. If they operate on them, you could end up with a horrible condition.
Any type of turbinate reduction causes the risk of empty nose syndrome even in patients with a small amount of turbinate tissue reduced. the scarring dosnt heal or the nerves are damaged and cause ens.its not worth the risk that the suffering ens causes.i was one of the many unlucky ones that got ens as a result.
Thank you so much for such clear explanation. Helps a lot. Much love from Malaysia

I did the septoplasty..I still have splinters for 3 days more. can I sleep from side to side ..or I must facing up the whole time?
I had the surgery too. I ended up with a hole through my nose and nasal valve collapse.

Does rhinoplasty and septoplasty cause ENS or is it only caused by reduction/ removal of the turbinates? I'm confused...
Can we do only septoplasty?
@@cynthiahernandez4550 reduction of turbinates!
