It is good to see that announcements are made in English for foreign travellers in the trains nowadays and also up to date displays of the stations on the journey,My previous experiences on Sri Lankan trains I found that there were no heads up announcements in English at the different stations mainly only in Singhalese and sometimes when trains are running late it is very easy to get on the wrong train because it can be confusing because trains are separated by only a few minutes ,But trains in Sri Lanka are generally very reliable,Love my motherland ❤❤❤

I love it when I see that plate which mentions manufactured by ICF India. I am really happy that India is exporting it to Srilanka.Its win-win situation for both countries. India can increase its GDP with exports and Srilanka can gain resources within less price in less time. good job both countries for keeping good relations. this is how South Asia can progress.
At the start every thing looks good, shining and beyond what expects from the SLR. If SLR has another video on TH-cam 6 posted months later, one can see the neglect, in at least the basic maintenance of the carriages. The dirt and grime on the roofs and the sides will indicate that the carriages are even not give a pressure wash at all. In Sri Lanka we only wash our faces only daily ! ! . Just look at the state of the Engines and carriages of our rolling stock. Shame. Can we ever improve ?
It would have been really good, if we also invested in tilting trains. As the train can maintain speed when going round bends, cutting journey time in many place.
The advice was good from the railway department personal, the people of our country must know that it is our tax that we are having luxury train for we can enjoy our journey. The railway department as a big responsibility to maintain and to look in to damages defaults in A/C all shcokets. I also request the railway department to employ girls and boys as hostesses so that they can maintain the moving train. Ones a week wash the train daily sweep and wipe the seats. As you say it is our money then it is the department's to take care of this beautiful train Thanks Keith Brohier Negombo.
It's so comfortable. All three classes are convenient.Happy about the new train.Please fix CCTV and fine to stop vandalism. I saw people eating peanuts and putting the skin down.Intercity Express AC train to kankesanthurai is still in good condition because it is privatized and maintained well.Maintanance is more important than purchasing new trains.Passengers who dirtying the train should be fined like Singapore. To the point of the comment below stated about vandalism of public properties is come from individuals. In school(even from pre school level) these thoughts should be seeded into young minds. If they were not thought, kids would not have been vigilant about things. Protecting the public means protect yourself. That is what developed nations practice.
Its supposed to me Modern, I wish the engine front was more contemporary looking, at least with a single frontal windshield. Also some destination station was pronounces in Indian Accent.
