Welcome to the second episode of Ancient Palestine, where I talk about the further history of those lands. It is still a region in which Israel plays a significant role. However, in this History of Palestine, further Ancient Empires appear, which will soon finally dominate Ancient Israel, contributing to its fall and disintegration on the Historical maps of the Middle East in that distant time.
In the film I will present the period from the 8th to the 6th century BC. We will see the sophisticated game of the powers of that time, such as Egypt, Assyria and Babylon, and the slow fall of both Hebrew Kingdoms, which stood in their way of gaining dominance in those regions of the world. My story is mainly based on non-Biblical sources. I consider them more historically reliable because thanks to them I can verify History written from only one source. We will learn about the history of the last Kings of both the Northern Kingdom and Judah, until the final collapse of their statehood and enslavement by other then powerful powers. Despite this, the History of Ancient Palestine does not end at all, nor does it mean the end of the nation of Israel. In the film, we reach the times of the rise of another of the Great Ancient Empires, namely Persia. As it turns out, Israelis can find their way there as well, but this is a completely different story of Palestine.
