  • [Dimensity 9300 vs 9200+ vs Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 vs 8 Gen 2 vs Apple A17 Pro] I compare the Vivo X100 Pro (MTD9300) to the Xiaomi 13T Pro (MTD9200+), iQOO 12 (SD8Gen3), Samsung S23 Ultra (SD8Gen2 OC), and iPhone 15 Pro Max (A17 Pro) in this extremely DETAILED Benchmark comparison where I run through AnTuTu v10, Geekbench 6, and 3DMark (Wild Life Extreme & Solar Bay). With new MediaTek and Qualcomm chipsets, it's going to be a tough battle - Who do you think will come out on top?

    The dimensity 9300 is so interesting. Despite having no efficiency cores it was able to sustain more stability than the 8 gen 3 . But this can be a manufacturer's fault like in the IQOO. The main performance of this chip will be revealed when 8 gen 3 for galaxy will be announced.

      Both 9300 and 8 Gen 3 uses X4, difference being 9300 uses 4 X4 cores and 4 mid-cores whilst 8 Gen 3 only have a single X4 with 5 mid core and 2 e-core. Resulting in 8 Gen 3 pushing it's single X4 and mid-cores way harder than 9300 and thus worse efficiency.
      Very ironic because Qualcomm are the one that increases mid core count in their 8 Gen 2 and resulting in better efficiency, you would think Qualcomm would get sign that increasing bigger core count is the way for better efficiency, but no, instead Mediatek are the one doing that and taking the W in performance this Gen.

  • @searklarak
    @searklarak 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +114

    Mediatek is a beast. I wouldn't dare consider them in the past but as they're fabbed by TSMC and making improvements every generation have allowed them to finally catch up and even surpass Snapdragon in most areas. Sure, it's not 100% perfect as it runs hot and probably isn't the most power efficient compared to the other chips as it has 0 energy efficient cores, but if you rarely play games or do media creation such as recording lots of 8k videos, then it really doesn't matter and you're still getting that top flagship level performance and aren't missing out on much.

    The 8 gen 3 is a beast, not in terms of raw performance but because of how raw and uncontrollable it is, we're going back to the SD 8 Gen 1 days, people always complained about it being a Samsung thing but TSMC chips are mid in terms of heat too, so what's happening? I'm gonna say it's trying to cram too much in the same process node as the 8 gen 2, the next SoC gen is going to be the real efficiency king.
    Additionally, this test was done in the phones' performance modes, that is why they are so hot. This is how it should be! The devices don't go that high usually, saw some gaming benchmarks and the X100 Pro and the S23 Ultra give out similar temps at the same games. So X100 Pro users rejoice! Mediatek is just as good as Snapdragon now!!
    Samsung's goodlock has a thermal guardian app which allows the phone to increase temps more before throttling. That's a bit of a hassle but also allows more control, wish they put it in one system setting.
    Anyways, wish you did a retest due to the SD 8 Gen 3 results, this must've been a mistake like ain't no way the Iqoo regularly stays at 41 degrees at idle.

    Great video as always! I have a 15 pro max as well but mine scored a 7234 in Geekbench. It is a terabyte though so I don’t know if that potentially has something to do with it. Not sure if the multicore score includes storage, from what I could discern it didn’t but correct me if I’m wrong. Again, great test though! It doesn't depend on storage, the a17 pro scores range between 7100 to 7400 when running. I had mine score about 7374, and it is 512 gb. I think his scores are lower as it was continuous after running antutu, which may have pre heated the phone, causing performance drop.

      Their weights are different. The iPhone is smooth because the principle of his system is more scientific. Android‘s mechanism is loose and rough.
      And Antutu has a performance test of the disk in the test weight, and the iPhone lags behind here. The iPhone is far behind in terms of physical performance.

    Looks like Samsung will have to do some thermal throttling of temps to stop the SD8G3 from overheating. It looks like it is a hot phone at the moment, assuming it is fully optimised.
    I'm not sure that most consumers care much for performance anymore, as it is overkill for most of us. For instance, I do not play games on my phone, so the GPU is moot. Hoping AI is the next big thing, giving us extra rather than the race for more GPU and CPU.

      We've hit the peak of performance for while now, as I still have the s20+ as a backup phone, now a 4-year-old phone. It's still very fast and plays most games at max settings.
