In this video I'll be taking a look at the Stanford Guitars Crossroad Marquee.
The Marquee is Stanfords take on the classic single cut guitar that we all know and love, but with a few little twists of their own.
From a distance, visually it looks the part, but it's when you get up close and personal you can see what they've brought to the table. The first thing you'll notice is that it's a flat top, as opposed to a carved top.
The body is actually semi hollow which really makes this guitar ring and adds a sweetness to the tone, rather than the usual forward sounding low end of a standard LP style.
They've opted for the vintage feeling chunky neck and PAF style pickups, coupled with a fast 12" radius fretboard this guitar covers the best of vintage and modern tones.
In the video I am plugged into the Blackstar Studio 10 6L6 which is mic'd with an Aston Origin condenser mic. In front of the amp there is a Surfy Industries Surfybear Classic Spring Reverb unit. The overdrive comes from the Chevtone Messiah and the MXR Timmy.

Since I‘m a proud Maybach owner and by now a die hard fan boy, I‘ll get one like that as a „take me everywhere and beat me up“-guitar.
This way, I can have something that feels nearly like home when sitting drunk as drunk could be on a festival camp ground without the constant fear of damaging or losing it.
It‘s Maybach‘s „Epiphone“ if you will.
It could use trapezoid inlays though…

Maybach are one of the best guitar companies in the world in my opinion. They make some of the best guitars around.
Stanford make some awesome stuff too. It’s definitely got the vibe of Maybach at half the price. I do agree different inlays would really give this guitar that extra 10%!

Looks and sounds great. Stanford are doing great stuff. Pickups in particular sound really open and bright. Great demo.

Stanford are making such good guitars! I love their stuff. They're all around the £1000 mark too which for the quality is unreal. They play every bit, if not better, than another brand with a big old G on the Headstock. I've really taken to this brand.
Everything comes with a hardcase too... whats not to love!

@@LeighFugeGuitar I got an epiphone casino coupe a while back and got a real hunger for the P90 fully hollow thing. Their 330 style guitar looks like amazing bang for buck. Did you like it?

Absolutely! They're a great company and I agree, I'd love to see them take on the Junior. Stanford are like a sister company to Maybach guitars, and Maybach have their own take on the Junior which is awesome, but I'd love to see Stanford take that on.
