2016 Road King. Put Revo A on the rear...love it! The very next week, put Axeo on the front (Sept 2019). Best money I have spent on this bike! Totally changes the ride. Can’t believe I road 20,000 miles without this upgrade. No more weaving around man hole covers...it’s like they are not there anymore. Also, cornering is much better. Hands down to Legend!
I have the Legends Revo (not Revo A) on my 2019 Road Glide Special, what a difference they made in the ride. Well worth the price. I discussed the difference between the Revo and the Revo A with the folks at Revzilla and they didn't think the rebound adjustment was really needed on a heavy touring bike. Going with the standard Revo saves about $200.00 and is a notable improvement over the stock Harley Shock.
I put a Legends in my 22 Street Bob one season ago and it was definitely the best way to go since I already have a Bad Back . I could see the difference immediately from the stock one with 3500 miles. 👍
I put legend revo coil adjustable 724 . Saved the 200 . Shocks are still adjustable for rider and passenger . All are correct they should have a better shock for cost of bike . I have a 16 RG special . The legend have extended my ride time and made life so good on the bike now. Normal bumps are not even felt anymore . After checking with ohlins , progressive and legend and talking with techs at 3 dealerships and revzilla all recommended legend as best ride for my style . Couldn't be happier . 724 not cheap but by far my best upgrade ! Ride safe
Legend Revo-A is badass, but their Aero-A is better. Much easier to adjust for when you’re riding solo, with a passenger, with or without a tour pack, etc. Smoothest ride ever. And don’t forget the Axeos for the front. 👌🏽😎👍🏽
Like them both, but been leaning toward Legends shocks. Liked what Brian said, "Take them out for an hour, and if you don't like them will give your money back towards a different purchase." Lifetime warranty is great too. Initial cost up front, but never have to buy another shock again, which will be cheaper in the long run...if you keep your bike. Also great information on air shocks, and keeping it real too. Explaining how they where the top of the line back then. TJ, Steph, and Brian thanks for an awesome, and informative video. Really liked the light humor between TJ and Brian, and Steph commentary with light humor in the background was a bonus.
Before you decide check out Pro Action. I almost bought the Ohlins but after talking to both at Sturgis it is hands down Pro Action. Made in USA. Twice the recommended miles before a rebuild is needed. The owner used to be Ohlins race tech at the track. He knows what makes a good shock. He installed and tuned them to me and my load befor I purchased. If you do like them he puts the originals back on and no charge. Love them. Oh and my Progressive were good at first and junk in 25,000 miles. Never again.

I just got the Legend Revo A for my 2016 CVO LIMITED. Night and day better than the air ride. My wife loves them. I've ridden on full out construction roads with humps and jumps. The only thing you feel is the front and the rear soaks it up. AWESOME RECOMMEND FULLY!!

Owning a Harley is a lot about customizing your ride. The stock suspension really isn’t bad especially for what it was made for. A lot of us are doing suspension b. You know what? You are absolutely correct. I’m not saying they need to have Ohlins like Ducati but damn it’s supposed to be know for it’s plush riding. INDIAN is the brand putting FOX from the factory. H-D wake up. I would change suspension because I want a performance bagger. And some are doing that but the factory suspension is a joke. What is it 2.5” of travel or something? Just poor for a 30 thousand dollar machine. I own one and love it but can see it’s shortcomings also at least for the price.
bobberguy1 I see your point but when it comes to Motorsports whether it’s Motorcycle, Cars, ATV etc.etc., each brand model has it price point and all the higher performance parts are going to cost more money. Bottom line, if you want the upgrades your going to pay.
For both progressive and legend, How can you easily adjust the pre-load when need to increase it for heavyier load? Do you have to remove the saddlebag? Do you need a tool.
My deal is I want the best suspension made, irregardless of how much, but I want to set the suspension, leave it alone, don’t touch it again, and just ride. I don’t want to keep adjusting it this way then that way, then back to this way. So is that Legends? Adam Sandoval is riding Legends on both his Road Glide & Indian Darkhorse I believe.
Russ weirnimont is another shock company not sure i spelled it correctly. Hes been building shocks for racing offroad and developed shocks for harleys.
You got that link? Just got Progressive monotube cartridges for the fronts AND the 422s for the rear for $600 on Amazon. Vs $750 for JUST the fronts ('04 Softy) - just wondering if the Legends are really 2-3x the performance (front and rear) vs the Progressives?
I run progressive 490s and a adjustable monotube cartridge in front. I have riden bikes with both progressive and legend shocks, along with Ohlins. The Progressive 490s and Legend Revos are VERY similar, and if someone is saying they are "a huge upgrade" it is because someone gave them a set of shocks and some money to say so. They are both amazing shocks, but the price difference with very little if any performance difference does it for me. If I was going to spend the amount that the Legends cost, I would just go with Ohlins instead, since they are a better performing shock than both the Progressive and Legends, at the same price or close to it as the Legends. I think some people just ride the hype train when it comes to certain upgrades (tbars, seats, shocks). Don't get me wrong, the Legends are amazing but they aren't blowing their competition out of the water.
I had Legends installed on my Harley tri gulid and it made so much of a better ride. The cost is going to be over a $1,000 with sales tax. And labor to install them and the set up took a little bit on and off the trike to get the preload set right $225. To install The trike road like shit beat you up all day and made me think about going back to my road king. My service man at our HD shop told me they be money well spent and he was right on. Best thing I put on my trike.
My Street Glide has the Legend Revo ARC Remote Reservoir shocks and their $1400.00 plus install but the best shock ever rode on. My custom built bike has Progressive adj coil overs and it's bad as around town and riding a few hrs straight. I haven't rode them any further. The money the Legend cost I'd only buy is riding for long rides like trips. I like the videos and you guys are badass..
Out of ALL the options you have on that bike, the BEST option you have is that sweet lady that sits behind you. I'm 70 and I know best. Take care of that option.
My 2010 Road glide custom Progressives in the front 440 progressive coil overs rear .It really slinks the twisties However when I had the mono from and OEM air rear I think it maybe rode better. My wife’s 2017 RGS with 10,000 miles took it out one day horrible and I could not dial it in went and got her a set Of Legend Revo a’s really big dif, easy to dial in .Thanks for reviews for humans
That was very helpful. I prefer old school self built Bikes instead of factory built. Ride Hard Bobber Chopper style I guess is how I would describe it. Light and Low. Loud and Proud.
Both Progressive & Legend shocks are better the OEM shocks but if you have a dresser the best are the Self leveling Wilberts from Germany. (preset with rider weigh and they self adjust to baggage & any extra added automaticly ) no manual or electrics needed.
Tei G. Can i ask why? I have HD lowering air shocks and the ride is unacceptable. It al,oat wants to throw you off crossing rough road, bridge transitions, etc. it also wallows in corners. I dont expect an 800lb bike to ride like my Ohlins Ducati, but its also very difficult to find a real review on a Harley that talk about specifics with how they effect rebound, compression, stopping, accelerating, high-speed cornering, turn in and troubled pavement
@@wyomatt The ohlins just made by bike handle so much better. I feel the slightly longer shock in the rear really did a great job of making my bike more balanced. The next job is doing the front end.
I have there. shock and adjusting them isn't easy as adjusting the factory shocks. I have the 944s that came with the bike. 2014 Ultra limited. Im loving on offer for the factory ones. I switch back and forth with 1 and 2 up and don't like taking the bags off every time to change the set up. Good informative video.
I'm not sure why everyone prefers the new harley coils over the old air shocks I've ridden both and I like the air and absolutely hate the coils the coils are so freaking stiff and the air is much much smoother
Take a minute before you buy and go take a look at JRI Shocks. They are out of Mooresville NC. I have them on my Electra glide and I think they are amazing. They're also 100% American made. From what I'm seeing with the Legend shock, the JRI's have more adjustability. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
I have progressive I believe their 444 I’m about 170lbs and if there is a dip in the road very jarring. I feel it all the way up my spine. Normal riding is fine but hit anything it’s like bouncing off the frame…2014 street glide s
The only REAL choice is the Legend RevA. I was so impressed with them and my FXR that I put cartridges from legend in the front and now I have the best suspension and the best handling bike I've ever had.
I recently purchased a 2021 Street Glide. The stock shocks are extremely stiff. Even on the softest setting. I just drop $875 + Shipping for some name brand shocks. The ride is better but still disappointing for the amount of $ I spent. If they were in the $450 ballpark I would have been content enough. Now I'm going back down the stock rabbit hole.
With the Legend shock the eyelet (bolt hole) is a ball and it allows the shock to rotate/pivot. The progressive shock looks to be rigid which is typical of most shocks. Is this true?
I see a lot of comments for Öhlins....Of the Öhlins that are available for the FLTRXS which one would be the best without going to the piggyback version?
Ohlins Blackline HD-772. I am about to purchase these ones myself! It all depends on your weight and what you are looking to do. Call this guy, he is the man to talk to as well. www.motorcyclemetal.com/gpage32.html they are $900 on the Ohlins website and $760.75 through him! I hope this helps and is not too late. Let me know what you ended up doing or already did. Army all the way!

I put Progressive 944 on my 15 ultra cornering was great but way to stiff of a ride for comfort. Switched to Legends Revo-A's cornering is great and ride comfort is awesome. Wasted $700 plus on Progressive. I'm very happy with Legends.
I’m new to this and my m8 softail Fatboy transfers bumps to our teeth. They weren’t good with stock now they are horribly worse. I know it must be an adjustment. Sag… rebound etc. I have legends on front. Legend Air for the back. Harley installed. They left the front on zero. Back is supposed to be 3 rebound. I’m changing the 3 to 1 to see if it helps. I’ve watched every video I can find. So far I believe I need someone to measure sag with me and my wife on it.
Changed the sag today. Seemed like very little change from the top. Even had to add more air after my wife got on the back. Had a person measuring 3/4 - 1inch and found out it was at about 4 inch sag. Rode again afterwards and it was much much better. Wife was happy. I believe we might be able to get a little better. Rebound is at 3. Might change the 3 to something else and try. If the seat wasn’t such a pain to remove etc. I’m looking for an air gauge… I think that will help keep my correct sag. Much happier after actually using measuring tape. I want to be able to lower so short wife can get on and off then pop back up to correct location. Any suggestions? Thank you.
@@TheOrneryOne I bought legends front and back because of your videos by the way. :). I believe when everything is set right we will be thrilled. Thank you.

If you get a chance please ask them if they’ve compared the difference between the REVO-A and the REVO ARC Remote Reservoir. I’ve been going back and forth between the two and wondering if the REVO ARC is worth the extra money.
Any updated reviews on these shocks?Leaning towards a set for my 17 RG Spl, that still has stock rear shocks. I have had back surgery and looking for a set of shocks that will allow me to ride all day again without the horrible jolt in bumps that the stock shocks cause. Thanks in advance.
That is to damn much money...if you can get a set of the progressive that someone took off...I would go that way. Hell everyone better have a tool kit with them with a flat head Sdriver. No is one of those companies want to give you a set to run and "test" then go for it. those prices ain't for no working stiff.
Put a set of legends on my wifes sportster they where very good, but she is short and they didn't make a shorter version. I ended up putting the progressive 490 on for her they are good but not as good as the legend. Now for the bad I put the Legend AXEO front cartridge on my fat bob and they are horrible. I will be removing them and putting Ohlin front and rear.
I am running FOX IFP-R's on my 19 SGS and they are as good or better than the Legend revo-a's for 2/3 the price. My buddy is running the revo-a's on his 17 SG and there is virtually no difference in the ride quality.
@@jimbeam4111 I went with the 12 inch HD's I am 5'10 and about 310lbs. I was afraid that with the std shocks I would be pushing it with 2 up. I have them set at about 1.5 (preload) and 2 clicks past 1/2 on the rebound and the ride is soft yet responsive and no bottoming out. Best money I have spent on any bike.
I’m running the Fox IFP-R’s as well and they are amazing. It really transformed my bike into now what feels like a Monoshock frame. I went with 13s as its what is needed IMO for these frames. Best money spent yet.
I run the legend full air the rear on my 16’ street glide and the axeo 21 on the front love the ride but it does take time to dial the rear in especially if you run a passenger or the bags are full but with on board air compressor you can adjust it going down the road! Not progressive
I bought the basic Revo for my 13 Streeglide, great riding but there was a notch cut into the springs in the exact same spot. kind of bummed about that, u cant see it cause of the bags but still. I emailed Legend to try an find out if the cut notch is from there machines when making the shocks and is it normal. If i had seen the notch before i got my bike all apart on the jack i prob would of sent them back.
I've read about this complaint/concern elsewhere and it was discovered that the notch is not in the spring steel, it's in the powder coating only. The notch comes from the hanger hook that carries the spring through the powder-spraying booth during the coating process. There's no flaw in the spring itself.
Nope...not if you ride. Ran them in racing so put them on the bike.....needed rebuild in less than 18 k...no help with parts other than one a hole that i wouldnt buy lawnmower tires from.
Yea, my $25k, 2021 HD Street Glide rides like a log wagon.. I'd hate to see what the previous suspensions rode like.. I bought a used set of 12" basic Ohlin shock for the rear and immediate 50% improvement.. Pitiful, but having to decide on the front upgrade as well..shame on the motor co. My best advice for the rear, if you have 12" in the rear, and if you have enough inseam/ footing go up to 13"..even if it's a mid range priced shock, that extra 1" shock alone will make the most difference.
The sick part of it is all these shocks are way overprice, you can buy good coilovers for a sports car, for all four corners for less than two on a harley

Wilbur shocks self adjusting
I got Legends. DREAM RIDE....
Russ weirnimont is another shock company not sure i spelled it correctly. Hes been building shocks for racing offroad and developed shocks for harleys.
Another utuber had progressive shocks and changed to legend shocks. He said there was no comparison. The legends were superior.
To install
The trike road like shit beat you up all day and made me think about going back to my road king. My service man at our HD shop told me they be money well spent and he was right on. Best thing I put on my trike.
My Street Glide has the
Legend Revo ARC Remote Reservoir shocks and their $1400.00 plus install but the best shock ever rode on. My custom built bike has Progressive adj coil overs and it's bad as around town and riding a few hrs straight. I haven't rode them any further. The money the Legend cost I'd only buy is riding for long rides like trips. I like the videos and you guys are badass..
I went with Shotgun Shock’s for my HD Air Ride love it!!
Out of ALL the options you have on that bike, the BEST option you have is that sweet lady that sits behind you. I'm 70 and I know best. Take care of that option.
Purchased Legend Revo A shocks for my 2019 HD SGS. The ride is day and night from the stock HD adjustable shocks. Ride is notably smoother.
For the price, they better be freakin magic. This is nothing but an ad for Legends.
Legends all the way and swap the front with legends Axeo! Best money on my 15 SG!
My 2010 Road glide custom Progressives in the front 440 progressive coil overs rear .It really slinks the twisties
However when I had the mono from and OEM air rear I think it maybe rode better.
My wife’s 2017 RGS with 10,000 miles took it out one day horrible and I could not dial it in went and got her a set
Of Legend Revo a’s really big dif, easy to dial in .Thanks for reviews for humans
I suggest Ohlins also.
I put burly slammer plus shocks on my '19 RGS. It made a world of difference.
I just bought the Revo A’s for my 2021 love them
I'm not sure why everyone prefers the new harley coils over the old air shocks I've ridden both and I like the air and absolutely hate the coils the coils are so freaking stiff and the air is much much smoother
I have been looking into upgrading the shocks and fork set up on my bike in the near future. Been thing about both Progressive and Legend
ran progressive 944s on my rd king but legends are the only way to go after my tour pac gets here for my 21 special suspension will bw next
Sweet!!! We freakin love Legends but the people are outstanding & such a great group of riders themselves!!!
Thank you for the ideas.
Russ Wernimont Designs RS-1. Excellent product and worth every penny.
Ohlins is the best. Used both of these and sold them for ohlins. Best money I've spent on my sg
Currently running 444 on my WG, too firm for my 85 kg frame.
Would not get them again and at $1100 Aud I expected a much better shock.
Jim D That guy is a complete asshole......full of himself and no customer support a year later. Anything goes wrong? It already your fault. I am a racers also and he is known as a dumb f.......in those circles.
The ORNERY ONE you, Brian and Hannah was having a great time Brother, damn I left Denny's to soon yesterday, keep rockin Brother 💯
Legend also has an air shock Aero-A-FLH. What is your opinion of those shocks?
I put Progressive 944 on my 15 ultra cornering was great but way to stiff of a ride for comfort. Switched to Legends Revo-A's cornering is great and ride comfort is awesome. Wasted $700 plus on Progressive. I'm very happy with Legends.
Also have the 944's,not real happy with them...switching to revo a's
I’m new to this and my m8 softail Fatboy transfers bumps to our teeth. They weren’t good with stock now they are horribly worse. I know it must be an adjustment. Sag… rebound etc. I have legends on front. Legend Air for the back. Harley installed. They left the front on zero. Back is supposed to be 3 rebound. I’m changing the 3 to 1 to see if it helps. I’ve watched every video I can find. So far I believe I need someone to measure sag with me and my wife on it.
Yes that is correct... you need to get the correct measurement & set the sag with you both on it.
Thank you.
I just picked up an 18 RGS with the same setup, can't say enough about Legends,
This guy for Harley is good. Very knowledgeable unlike most dealers. I thought you live in Arkansas, why go up to Missouri? Are you by the MO border?
Edit: new subscriber here 👊
I’ve never thought much of Progressive to be on the same level as Legend. Can Legend compete with Ohlins?
My 2017 Ultra rides great. I have no idea why people spend that much on shocks. 15k so far. I’ve bought some go fast parts, my shocks are great. I ride daily. Of Course I don’t give a shit what people think
I have the air shocks on my 2016 RGultra , they are horrible. It seems like ever processeding year a better shock comes out. Whats the best one for 2022 , I need the upgrade bad lol . Thanks for sharing. Big Mex from central California
If you get a chance please ask them if they’ve compared the difference between the REVO-A and the REVO ARC Remote Reservoir. I’ve been going back and forth between the two and wondering if the REVO ARC is worth the extra money.
Great video and thanks for informing. Became a subscriber. Looking forward to more.
Hooorah
Any updated reviews on these shocks?Leaning towards a set for my 17 RG Spl, that still has stock rear shocks. I have had back surgery and looking for a set of shocks that will allow me to ride all day again without the horrible jolt in bumps that the stock shocks cause.
Thanks in advance.
Which ever shocks, your getting the biggest discount on.
Once I started playing with the factory shocks on my 17 RGU, not sure I’d change.
Seems like a no brainer
Get the legend $$$ and bring it back if you don’t like it
Ride safe
I have an ultra. Limited 2021 I tiptoe on it too short of legs what shocks do you recommend to put on the lower it a good inch
What do you think of the ohlins HD-044?
Suspension Technologies!!
The dial is just for rebound, correct?
That is to damn much money...if you can get a set of the progressive that someone took off...I would go that way. Hell everyone better have a tool kit with them with a flat head Sdriver. No is one of those companies want to give you a set to run and "test" then go for it. those prices ain't for no working stiff.
Very helpful info thx for sharing.
Legends Ben’s through the rest legends make the best
Legends all the way!
I hate the springs on my Street Glide. Liked the air ride on my road king better.
BigCheez I was thinking of getting the foxes for my rgs. Did you get the 13 inch or stay with the 12’s?
@@jimbeam4111 I went with the 12 inch HD's I am 5'10 and about 310lbs. I was afraid that with the std shocks I would be pushing it with 2 up. I have them set at about 1.5 (preload) and 2 clicks past 1/2 on the rebound and the ride is soft yet responsive and no bottoming out. Best money I have spent on any bike.
BigCheez thanks.
Laidlaw did a comparison between Fox and Legend. Said they were pretty close. I think they said the Fox was a bit stiffer for smaller bumps
You should check out fox!
Would like to see a comparison including ProAction shocks. I want to lower my Ultra limited. Anyone have any feedback?
Legends are the superior choice
Adam Sandoval has legends on his and says he loves them
He probably did not pay for those
I have hyrneated disks in my lower back how would the legends benefit me
I bought the basic Revo for my 13 Streeglide, great riding but there was a notch cut into the springs in the exact same spot. kind of bummed about that, u cant see it cause of the bags but still. I emailed Legend to try an find out if the cut notch is from there machines when making the shocks and is it normal. If i had seen the notch before i got my bike all apart on the jack i prob would of sent them back.
Really?!? That is crazy. I would like to hear what happens!! Keep me posted.
I've read about this complaint/concern elsewhere and it was discovered that the notch is not in the spring steel, it's in the powder coating only. The notch comes from the hanger hook that carries the spring through the powder-spraying booth during the coating process. There's no flaw in the spring itself.
Revo A comes in a 12" or 13" The 13" adds a half inch to the seat but adds 1" more travel
Cool video. Why do motorcycle shocks cost so much more than comparable truck/car shocks? Or are they not really comparable?
I think it's the amount produced is so much less than the application for cars and trucks.
Interesting video, I am looking for new rear suspension for my bike. Cool video, big like 👍.
See a comparison chart of shocks at this link- www.dkcustomproducts.com/overview-of-performance-rear-shocks-71.htm
Best suspension? OHLINS brah!
1000% agree
Nope...not if you ride. Ran them in racing so put them on the bike.....needed rebuild in less than 18 k...no help with parts other than one a hole that i wouldnt buy lawnmower tires from.
Naw, RWDs
You can’t talk about shocks and at least not bring up Ohlins..... just my opinion 🤷♂️
Joseph Galligher 🤘
Or RWDs
$1000 shocks? I hope the have gold nuggets inside of them
Yea, my $25k, 2021 HD Street Glide rides like a log wagon..
