I insanely rode my sportster for the first 5 years on the stock suspension. I installed progressive 412s and progressive front springs this year. What a difference that made for me. I have 2 more upgrades for comfort I have to do and those are a seat and a windshield. Keep the great videos coming.
Thanks I really appreciate that and it’s really hard to explain to somebody about the suspension. I really didn’t think it was that bad until I made the change
Good stuff BoDean! I have a 13 FLHTK and going with Legend both front and rear. I understand the front suspension is primarily for handling and performance while the rear enhances the comfort level. I can't wait to try my bike with both. It has 36K on it and it's definately time for an upgrade.
Thanks for the video,
Ride safe my friend.
Appreciate that and if people only knew how much better it is.
Looking forward to it. Isn't it a shame that Harley sucks when it comes to seats and suspension? I already have a Mustang Regal touring seat on the bike that made a world of difference. Now, when I get Legend front and rear, I'm not going want to get off the thing!
Take care Man.
Nice review of these Bob. I have Revo (not A) on the Dyna and it’s amazing the game changer it was. I’d love to get the matching front to go with it. Pricey, yes. Worth it, of course!!!
Waiting on the front here for sure, all that TH-cam money just don’t add up to pay for them 😂
Best money I have spent on my bike a few years ago. Ill be putting the Revo's on the 2021 Road Glide Special soon. Good stuff. Ride safe Bob
Thanks Rick and I agree on such a great investment!
I bought a set of Revo A’s after your video when you first installed yours. I put them on my 21 road king and a world of difference they made over the stock ones. I always thought the stock ones were OK but this was a game changer if you ask me. Thanks for your informative videos
So glad Terry and happy your enjoying them
I had the REVO's on my 2020 Street Glide Special - great shocks - I recently upgraded to a 2022 Street Glide ST - went to the SE Ohlin's with remote reservoir - those are exceptional as well. I love both - both are SIGNIFICANTLY better than stock.
That’s good to know Jason, that’s why I said I really don’t have anything to compare them to other than stock but I hear really good things about Ohlins as well
I installed the standard Legends Record on my Road Glide and love the improvement I ride and the improvement in the way the bike now handles. I've had several tell me that the Legends front suspension makes a huge difference. I currently saving up for that!
I have been in the same position, can’t wait till we both get them done
I have the rear Revo A's 13" and the front Axio cartridge kit front, at first the front will feel a bit stiff even with zero preload on them, there's a good reason for this, once you get on the twisties and the canyons you will know, they handle amazingly better then the mushy stock front end. Remember for both rider and passenger confort is dictated by the rear shocks and the front end is for your handling, with the Axeo cartridge kit that excessive dive while braking is all but gone, you still compress the front while on a turn when you trail break and this loads the front tire for better grip, but it feels solid and planted to the road.
Really appreciate that and now that I have the fronts, starting to see what you are talking about. I am glad I decided on these
Hey Bo, there are plenty of vids on the TH-cams about the Legends front suspension. I know for sure that Ornery One guy had Legends front and rear done and those guys love them. I have Revo A's and the Legends front suspension in boxes with a Stage 5 pile of parts waiting to get installed on my '00 RKC. Adam Sandoval sold me on the front and rear suspension when he had had his installed on his Road Glide at the Legends facility in Sturgis, which he did a video about. The Legends tech explained and demonstrated really well how much of an improvement their system is. Legends has a TH-cam channel as well. I encourage you to check it out 👍
I appreciate that and I actually follow all of those guys and seen those videos. It’s funny how a lot of feedback from people that actually have them on helps drive your decisions. Ride safe and thanks
Wait until you feel how nice your bike not only rides, but handles when you upgrade your front end. Great review. 👍
Appreciate that Mike I just gotta do it
I'm not going to lie...stock Harley suspension was not the worst I've ridden on!...but it does not even come close to the new suspension!...I went with Progressive 444HD's for the back and Progressive Mono-tubes for the front!...loving it!!...thanks for sharing....stay safe...ride safe!!😎🤙👍🤙👍🇨🇦
Thanks brother……I agree that stock was not bad but wow on the upgrade
I also have a 2021 RGL. When My wife and I ride two up she complains the railroad crossing are too rough. I usually slow down to about 30mph. I thinking of getting the Legends Revo-A 13 inch or the Revo Arc 13 inch.
My wife told me there was a noticeable difference in the ride for her
One of the best upgrade I ever did to my bike! I need to add fronts soon.
Can you get a sponsor for us please Bry 🤷♂️
I love my Legends as well. It takes care of the little squirm in the rear around corners. The movement that the shocks allow help that. And just the overall ride quality improved with long rides really counts.
Amen….happy with mine for sure
I put the Legend Axeo's on the front last summer on my 2018 FLTRU....unbelievable difference, like a new bike, wish it had been my first upgrade as I have 74,000kms. on it now. So I put the Revo's on the back this winter , can't wait to try them out. Doing a southewest USA trip this summer
That’s great and I put the fronts on last month and have not ridden yet. I hate the difference you see? I have the backs on and they are like night and day
I’m so glad that I spent the money on the legend revo’s . A big difference
So agree and it’s hard for people that are running on stock and just don’t realize how good it can be. That’s why I try to play it up in this video and the original one because I know it helps people
Suspension upgrades in general are certainly a game changer, especially on Harley’s.
I went for the Wilbers setup (front and back) on mine, they are a set and forget process where the preload is set, and then the technology automatically makes any adjustments for you.
Either way, I’m glad that you have a much more comfortable ride now. 😉✌️
I was watching your video where you were talking about that and I had nothing but great things about Wilbers as well
I've searched youtube for a review of the Wilbers by someone who wasn't given them for free. I'm intrigued by the set it and forget since I also go from solo to 2-up at any given moment.
Great video ,I have the same bike and it was your channel that put me onto KST have a set of 14 pathfinders Asli went with Revo A s ,for the forks I decided on traxxion dynamic AR 25 and I've got to say I believe that has been my best value upgrade so far
Great to hear that is working out!
Great review. Your experience with the Revo-a is spot on with mine. I did try the Ohlins 36E on my 22 RG and then tried the Legends REVO-A and the Revo-a was better. It’s not exactly and apples to apples comparison bc the Ohlins didn’t have the rebound adjustment but still overall I’d say the Legends were a lot better for plushness and handling. I’m legends all out now gotta do the front.
thanks and the front does make a difference. I have since bought a 24 Road Glide that comes stock with better suspension but still may flip out!
Your right about the rear. One of the people from legend told me rear shocks for comfort and front shocks for stability in the corners. You have to think about how hard your going to take the corners on a thousand pound motorcycle to determine if it’s a good value upgrade. Good luck.
That’s a very good point Rodney, thank you
Good to hear you are still liking them. Hoping to get them for my bike here soon.
They have been great and I’m starting to do some videos on things I introduced six months ago and kind of give an update. Hope you’re well and keep up the good work on the channel
You will be able to feel that again when you upgrade the front. The Axeos are valved to complement the rear suspension.
I hear only good things and going to pull the trigger
I just couldn't upgrade one end of the suspension and not the other, proper suspension transforms a bike.... The Victory is getting primed for new legs soon 😁
I totally get that but at $1000 a pop sometimes they come at different times. So what’s going on with the victory, traded in for a Harley?
@@BoDean52 ..Vic is resting this season for the most part.. Hopefully before next season, it's going to get Tracxxion Dynamics fork inserts, a Penske rear shock and new wheel bearings... It'll be about a $2200 investment but it'll be completely refreshed and good for a long time to come
I had Revo-a rear shocks on my 2015 Limited and really enjoyed them. The Axeo front cartridges are a game changer. Lots of stability and zero fork dive under hard braking. I didn't put Legend suspension on my RoadGlide Ultra. I'm considering Wilbers because I often go from solo to 2up and back in a single day and adjusting either the Legends or stock suspension isn't as easy as it sounds and it's tedious. I'd prefer self-leveling and self-adjusting rear shocks. Ride safe...
That’s actually a good reason girl with the Wilbers Ryan, I am 90% solo so it works out for me but if not I may have went that way as well.
I agree with you Ryan. I am torn between the two for the simple fact, Legends have a lifetime warranty and Wilbers has only a 5 year warranty on theirs. You can take the Legends off your bike and put them on another bike if you do buy/change bikes in the future. I haven't decided which way I'll be going but both "I think" are very good suspensions.
I don’t think it’s a big deal unless your spouse or significant other hits the 200lb mark.
@@Roadglide911,
Good point. At 132lb, she's the lighter one of the two of us. Ride safe
Great review, thank you for your time and videos
Thank you sir I really appreciate that
Yeah this winter probably be putting on. Need to save up for them though. LOL. Nice video. 👍
Thanks man and they are pricey for sure, saving for the fronts right now
I get my A's put on today!!
That’s awesome can’t wait to hear what you think
They are a difference maker for sure. Huge difference in twisties.
Your advice has been spot on so far my friend
🛑🛑 Great Video 👍
I’m sporting Arnott Air Suspension on my CVO Ultra.
•Great Handling.👍•Great Ride. 👍
•No Messing Around👍
Thank you sir and suspension such a big deal
@@BoDean52
Agreed….Money well spent, if you ask me 👍
Measure the sag in the front to see how much compression you get. It will give you an idea of how much actual travel is left. The RG same as the last gen Goldwing, Showa internals. They are woefully under sprung.
Thanks Pete and will do
I came so close to springing for the Legends shocks while in Sturgis, but whimped out. Now you make me wish I had done so…
Wait, did you just use the phrase “a bunch more weight” and “Mrs BoDean” in the same sentence?? 😇
I had go back and watch.......oops
I put Revos on the rear of my 2015 SG and cartridges up front. Bottom line is that the STOCK front on my 2022 RG rides better than the SG with front cartridges. I’d suggest that you ride a cartridged RG before spending a grand on what may be a marginal change if any.
Thanks a ton for that comment…..I would not be happy if they were not better. I must say with just the rears on I really like it how it is and may not spend the money at all.
Legends are legendary. Go Blue!
Hail yeah, go Blue, It is almost football time my friend
I'm glad you put out this video, and glad you really like the Legend Revo-A [they're tops so far in my research] - the stockers GOT TO GO! Did you do the install yourself?
I actually did not install these myself because they were putting on the bars at the same time so just had them throw them on. They really are easy to put on you just need a second set of hands to help you adjust the preload
@@BoDean52 Thanks, that's good info! Makes sense, if it's in the shop for other stuff anyway... that's probably the route I'll go too.
Your timing is perfect with this video. As soon as I can afford the upgrade, Scarlett is getting suspension. The question is Legends or Ohlins. I have heard several people having issues with Legends leaking. Have you had any issues with that? Cause when I do upgrade, I want to do both front and back. I plan to install my rear ones myself, but the front... I will pay the techs to do those.
And I miss the wave! It is just not the same riding on the left.
I have had no problems but they are still new. Lifetime warranty so guess I will be okay. You need to fix the wave problem over there
Legends Front and Back
3years Comfortable..worth it
I need to do the front and glad to hear it, back have been great
Dude! You need to be more careful in what you say! Example: Around the 2:35 time stamp you said "When I carried a lot more weight, like Mrs. Bo Dean". Prayin' for ya, Bud!
Sometimes I am not real smart and hopefully she will not see this video
Yep, suspension is everything bro.
No doubt!
wanna do an east coast ride in July and spend July 4th in Boston? I'm traveling from Wisco to the east coast..
Sounds like a riot, not sure of my summer yet though. Where abouts in WI are you?
Most excellent that you are so satisfied 👍🏻🍻
For sure and thanks
Ive always upgraded with Progressive Suspension products..You cant beat them for the money...And iam always looking to save money...
Nothing wrong with that and there’s still a very good upgrade
I never changed the suspension on any of my seven HD's, I kept them all stock. I now know that was a mistake, I should have upgraded my HD suspensions. 😔
To me it’s worth at least the bike I tour with to do that on I don’t know if I would do it on my runaround bike
Hey Bodean,
I did the fronts after installing the rears.
I was so happy with the rears and when I had the money saved for the fronts I did them.
Was the front worth it?
Oh yea 😎 no regrets here 😉 especially with front nose dive when you apply the front brakes, the Cornering also feels different.
That is so great to know, thank you. I am definitely going to get them put on
Thanks for the review.
Appreciate you Jim
Is it too soon to say “we told you so” lol. I personally recommend waiting till you hit like 20k and it’s time for a front suspension rebuild anyway before tossing in the new front end.
Good idea there but you know how I listen 😂
12” or 13” Revo A? I have the exact same bike except for paint.
13 and they great, just put front on as well
How many turns per 50# of wait added.
I don’t know you’re really gonna have to go onto the legends page and see. My sag was sad when I installed them and I basically only adjust the dial.
If you think it feels way better with the rear shocks done wait until you get the front done
I hear that from many, how are you both feeling my friend?
@@BoDean52 getting there slowly, we both thought it would be quicker than it has been, trust me get that front suspension done, I put in the axeo
I have the front and rear legends the front seem kinda stiff but it does ride better got about 2000 miles on them right now
That’s great and really good to know, appreciate it
No problem with Harley warranty?
Nope… They will actually order them and put them on for you
Your bars have a lot of pull back. What kind are they?
They are factory 47 and I like them a lot
@@BoDean52 thanks I have T Rex arms and I need something like that
Im looking at putting these on my ultralimited, you still happy with these a year later? Thanks
Yes, game changers!
Cool, thank you very much. Thanks for the response & videos
@scottcarey3182 my pleasure and let me know how you like them once you get them on
Did you go with the 12'' or the 13'?
13 and love them!
💯💯👍👍
Thanks brother, hope you’re well
Wich is it 3 4 or 5 thousand mile review?
Pick one Andrew
👍
Thanks
Suspension technologys are american made and Lifetime guaranteed.... get another bike? Take the shocks with you... Guaranteed !!!
I definitely have the stock ones in my garage just in case
@@BoDean52 me too
You know is lts a shame when you literally have to trash the stock shocks from a brand new bike. Harley has to do better.
I totally get that in a while the original shocks at least on this bike we’re not bad they were definitely far closer to that than they were good. For 30,000, you’re right we should have better suspension
Harley stock shocks ... are just a problem waiting to happen... strong on one side weak on the other... bad on the swing arm for sure.... ANY AFTERMARKET REAR SHOCKS WILL BE AN IMPROVEMENT
Good point as usual
Hiway to HELL...HAHA
😂, Dad jokes continue on the channel
@@BoDean52 ha, Im a dad 5x over haha
