    Seeing that JC Penney Auto Insurance ad made me remember how department stores used to have special little areas for things other than shopping in the early 80s and into the 90s. We had a store that had a Ticketmaster area, as well as a travel agency within the store. I kind of miss that. Heck, I kind of miss the malls and department stores of this time frame in general. Sure, the Internet has made shopping more convenient, but today's youth will not understand what the malls and big department stores once were.

      The days when you had to wait on the bench in the clothing section while your mom tries on 20 different work dresses with big shoulder pads while being forced to listen to Kenny G's "I've been missing You" and Goerge Michaels "Careless whisper" over the store speakers. But at least I had my Jabberjaw fanny pack full of Hot Wheels :D

      I wish I could replace the modern commercials stuck in shows on streaming channels with '80s commercials.

    I may have said this before (I've been subscribed to your channel for awhile), but I just wanted to thank you immensely for preserving and bringing back all these old commercials that many of us were so diligent to hit PAUSE over when we were taping our _Million Dollar Movies_ or whatever other televised cinematic epics that we wanted to record in a "seamless" fashion, lol. At 4:02, that Atari 5200 commercial... I remember one of my best friends had that console; one time when I spent the night at his house, he brought it out and had _Defender_, one of my favorite arcade games at the time. Man, it was amazing-a complete copy of the original down to every detail. I dug it so much that I played it that night until the wee hours of the morning when my eyes were already sizzling and my friend was fast asleep. Thanks again for conjuring up all these memories!

    1330 for a computer?! Dang, I didn't know they were that expensive!

    • @VladamireD
      @VladamireD 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      In the early 80's? Yeah. My current computer cost about that much and could emulate all the computers in that ad and not break a sweat. Check out the Computer Chronicles here on TH-cam if you're interested in early computing, it was a PBS show that covered the latest news and breakthroughs in the industry of the time.

    • @Tr0nzoid
      @Tr0nzoid 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That was a low price for one then. You can spend that much or more for a computer now if you know what you're shopping for, like getting a solid state drive, a touch screen, and a graphics card.

    Denny's-"..we take our lean horse meat patty..."
    Serengeti-that looked like a trailer for one of those"artsy" horror films..kept expecting to hear the announcer say"Rated R." at the end
    Benson-was the Governor having a stroke..?
    High Road To China-would be interesting to see a remake starring Jay Hernandez and Perdita Weeks(Magnum and Higgins respectively( from the new Magnum P.I
    American Airlines-"Dick Lord"..sounds like a Xbox Live/PSN gamertag

    Every ad in the 80s and 90s was obsessed with telling you about the price of the product. That's such a foreign concept these days, idc about the price just throw it on my credit card I'll deal with it later
