    This video took me quite a while to produce as I wasn't happy with the first edit. Hence why it's a firstish ride review. If you'd like to see anything else added to my review videos please let me know in the comments. Thanks for watching and if you're new here please consider subscribing for future videos :)

    Thanks for confirming that I bought a good bike! Got one back in May, 2k miles(!) 16 plate, £4800 (5200 euros?), doesn't have the upgraded seat like the one you rode in this video, but still!
    I've only put 1000 miles on it, but there's still time for some pleasure riding before winter!
    Subbed!

      Haha happy to help :) Wow that's brand new!!! That's a brilliant deal best of luck with it :) For that price you could buy the fanciest seat imaginable and still be happy :D
      There is absolutely! I was out all day today :) Thanks!

    Ah my MT'S fancier, tourer cousin! :D
    That screen is...yeah...
    Never really knew that the 07 had a tracer model. I always thought it was the 09 & 10.
    No point reviewing mine as it's the same without the fairings. (You're still more than welcome)
    The MT-07 torque feels lovely to be fair :)
    Mine was €8399 new. Still a bargain.
    I probably could've done with the Tracer with the amount of mileage I did this year but I just love my naked look :P
    Haha, nobody uses hazards!
    Cracking review again man!

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I knoooow it's not as sleek as your bike but the screen looks well on it I think and offers a loooot of protection.
      It's the 07 and 09 I think I dunno does the 10 have a tracer model, I think it has a GT version instead. Which is a lovely bike! Did I ever mention I love the MT10?
      Gimme ;) I'll ride anything :D.....bike wise that is.
      Torque suits Ireland more I think, we don't really have the roads for mad top speeds reaaaallly so torque is just more usable.
      100% that's a bargain and a half. That whole bike family is excellent, I'd love to get a tenere 700
      Haha you might have been more comfy but cmon....nakeds look better :P
      I do.....when I filter everyday so maybe that's why it's a pet peeve of mine! :P
      Thanks man .... if only the rest of the world would cop their averageness at some point and subscribe to me I'd be laughing.

  • @PaddyOutback
    @PaddyOutback 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I was inches from buying one but went for the V-Strom. There wasn't much in it but some off road ability is important in these parts. The Tracer doesn't have that. It's slightly better on road though. Great bike. One of the best on the road dollar for dollar.

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the v strom is definitely the tougher machine! The Tracer can handle minor off roading but cast wheels etc it wouldn't last long certainly. I agree, cost wise it's a bloody excellent bike that punches way above its weight

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you very much :) it does in comparison to some more expensive bikes alright but it does feel very solid and "clicky". It's also nice and low profile. The only niggles I have it the placement of the horn button and hazard button!
      Definitely get a test ride :) thanks for watching!

      @TheGorillaBiker  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're welcome! For the Tracer? From what I could find looking into it there is a tall seat available from Yamaha, you can also get the original reupholstered and get gel added for extra lift or Shad do a comfort seat too. All are apparently superior to the original. I haven't physically tried any of them however

    Great review. I've not riden one myself, but as its basically the same bike as mine, but half faired, I'd say it would be the perfect middle weight tourer. I'm in love with the 2020 version. Did you find the ABS a little intrusive? Engine is great isn't it...

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! It's definitely looser than yours as well. That's the only thing is it doesn't feel sporty really. Lovely bike to ride. I like the 2020 version but myself and Kev talked through it and the front end....I just don't know does an R1esque front work on it! Not really but I was riding on dirty roads so didn't really get to give it a good test, I don't like not being able to lock up the back wheel tho :P Bloody brilliant engine.

    • @bikehubjapan
      @bikehubjapan 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheGorillaBiker Yep. Agreed. The front ABS is great, but I wish I could lock the back up. Never found the front intrusive, but the back is. I've actually done stoppies by mistake on mountain roads, but the rear abs kicks in a lot even in normal riding. Re: 2020 version...I think all Yamaha's will go that way. Like a brand thing

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Very interesting... also because i currently have yamaha fz6 s2 and thinking about getting 2017 tracer 700gt ... my concern is the power at the moment... i am test riding tracer next week.. but would like to know your opinion since you rode both back to back, which one is more fun to ride? For power and sound? To release that bit of a hooligan? . 600-800cc is the bracket of bikes I am looking at..i am also considering fazer fz8 2014 possibly...what do you think? Forget fz8 ?

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends. I own the fz6 s2 myself and I do like it but for a hit of hooliganism I think the down low power of the Tracer is perfect. Plus when you put a good exhaust on to that parallel twin it really sounds mean while the fazer only sounds good up high even with a good exhaust.
      Tbh I've ridden only one fz8 and I loved it.... If I had the choice I think I'd go for an MT09 but only because I'm very tall. Put of the three the fz6, Tracer MT07 and the fz8 I'd probably go for the Tracer. It's a brilliant all rounder

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I honestly have no idea in £, but I can see a brand new one is starting at 8450, so it's basically new with that mileage. If it has any extras I would think it's a good deal with the warranty and such :) Even if it's completely stock it's a nice saving from buying new.
