If anyone thinks the Soviets didn’t do much during world war 2 I highly recommend the documentary series “Untold History of the United States”
Everyone knows they basically took the brunt of Hitler's military when he invaded them and that led to lower troop numbers on the western front and when everyone thought the Soviets would loose (even the Soviets) they gained a surprising amount of victories and blessings from nature and beat the Germans back to Poland within a year.
@@Craisont yeah, but it's also worth mentioning that a huge part of Soviet success was due to the western aid. Not gonna disregard the human sacrifice of the Soviet troops but they wouldn't have been able to do much was it not for lend lease.

What I've always enjoyed about this channel is how he somehow manages to be apolitical... on a channel about international politics. It's kept it lighthearted and really enjoyable. That being said, you know Drew is mad when he injects a serious opinion on politics without a real punchline, I don't know that I have ever seen him do that. I don't mind that though, he has every right to express his opinions, I was just taken aback by it given his style. Made me laugh actually. 10/10 would Putin on horseback again.

OK, I get that New Zealand is 2 islands, but if they had the same response as the U.S. (Where I live, and I assume a lot of this comment section also lives) then the virus would have gotten out of control until it was impossible to eradicate it.
To be fair with New Zealand, the world is very connected today. So their perk of being an island nation doesn't really work all that well when it comes to diseases. Now if we were talking like the 1700s or 1800s then yeah that would come in handy.
