Well, you certainly weren't lying about this last episode paying off big time! What an ending to the year, and one of the best episodes ever! We deserved it considering the general shortage of D!Zone'd in the recent weeks. I guess the only way that this video could have been even more fun is if the first map, a 10/10, was then followed by a hysterically bad level somewhere in the 1/10 - 2.5/10 range, qualifying it for the top 5 worst maps of the year. Speaking of which, I'm ready with my lists, so I'm gonna watch your D!Zone'd class of 2024 next. Maybe tomorrow!
Funnily enough, that did happen this year! In one video I played a 10/10 map (which appears in this year's top 5) and the map that immediately followed it was a 1.5/10 (which, of course, landed in the bottom 5). :D
Whatever has been alleged about his conduct when he joined Id Software, its easy to see why Tim Willits got tapped to join Id. Raven 6 is a great Doom wad.
DMOMEN is pretty good too. The level of atmosphere is high for an early pwad and it feels like it's got a good challenge especially for Doom 1. Husband and wife team did good.
For sure! You could say the same thing about Randy Pitchford, really-some of the Duke levels he made were solid. Advancing into management can do some really funny things to people. I'm still surprised that DMOMEN was made in 1994. I think the only real giveaway are the odd doors (the one with the skull key marking and the one that blended into the rest of the wall). Really impressive stuff!
That first one, in pretty sure the lights on the ceiling let you know where the linedefs were for that final "puzzle"
Yep, another one of those details I didn't notice until I edited the video. x)

RA6 is just RAVEN6.WAD by Tim Willits and Theresa Chasar and DMOMEN was really good, i do remember playing this one awhile back
Really ended the year on a high note
Last minute push for DZOTY!

Thanks, appreciate it! Happy New Year!
Gotta hate those shotchainers, they tend to sneak up on you at the worst possible moments XD.

dmomen is on idgames as "The Omen" by David and Kathy Bruni.
28:07 taken from Jimi Tenor's "Take Me Baby" (1995)? ;)
Not intentionally! I have no idea where that came from. :P
I have a old cd of DZone wads 99% terrible but you find a gem
Haha yeah. I remember that being really annoying when I was a kid, but nowadays it's kinda fun to look for the diamonds in the rough.
What makes me a good DMOMEN?
D!Zone is good now?!
It has its moments!
