Which cemented a love-hate relationship with the game as I remember having a lot of fun with it, but at the same time it was the game I was stuck with while everyone else was screaming how Doom was the best game of all time.
Yay, you finally did Blake Stone! One of the main FPS games of my childhood. Wolf 3D (shareware), Blake Stone (shareware), Doom, Heretic, and Duke3D were my favorites, and I've been wondering when Blake Stone would make an appearance on your channel. Thanks for playing Blake Stone!
I was 5 or 6 when I first played Blake Stone, and I'll tell you, the rooms with the infinite spawning plasma monsters terrified me. I would just run to the other door, my heart pounding the entire way through. 🤣
Have to hand it to Civvie, that James Bond homage is just top-tier stylish.
im so glad you did Blake Stone, because i tried replaying it recently and it has been the ONLY game EVER to give me full on motion sickness! thank you so much!
I played this so much as a kid. Damn, the memories. I played this even more than Doom for a while.
I gotta say I loved the video. It's amazing how entertaining Civvie is playing a game I've never heard of.
Hell yea!!! Apogee hours for the win
civvie dropping the mini farscape reference.... i knew you were my favourite but having an image of commander crichton in the first minute of the episode.. now that just makes me unbearably happy lolol
If I’m not mistaken, the silent pistol does extra damage to unaware enemies, meaning you can sneak up and oneshot a few basic guards without alerting enemies. Basic protostealth mechanics as well! Too bad there are precious few occasions to do this
Ah... my favorite Wolf3d engine game. And definitely in my top 3 "Boomer Shooters" (along with Blood and Heretic)
I had no idea Planet Strike existed until recently and it's the first time in 10 years I'd felt excitement 😅
Srsly, just watching this review fills me with joy ❤🎉
Edit: I have the OST in mp3 format and listen to it regularly 😁
Damn, this video is so good! From the murica early on, to Katie's sphere edit, to you trying to convince your caretakers you're a video essayist... Just straight up fantastic writing throughout it all! The damn Tech Wars part had me wheezing!
"This game is hiding more secrets than the CIA!" Accurate
More than MI6 indeed
Civvie I can't tell you how stoked I am for this one. Blake Stone is an underated classic and I've been waiting for this day since you did the original Wolf3d vids.
I always wondered if we'd get a good Blake Stone video from Civvie. Another old favorite from my dos era childhood. Shame it was killed off by Doom. It really had potential.
