This is just the beginning. Stay tune for a series of videos about how I turbo charge my 2018 5.7L V8 Toyota Tundra using a kit that I got from Turbokits.com kit link: www.turbokits....
Excellent question! In the beginning of March of this year Turbokits.com company released this kit for the first time. At that moment they were looking for like 2 or 3 DIY guys who want to work with them by giving feedback on the whole process from the install to the tuning to the driving, etc. Also, they were offering about $1,000 worth of extras and some discounts as well. At that moment I saw a great opportunity to make something different and learn about it at the same time. I don’t have experience with SC but based on what I saw on reviews the Magnuson SC is a great and a proven technology for Tundras with a good warranty. There is plenty of data about SC on Tundras, so at the end of this turbo kit install journey we can use all that information to compare both and help in the decision making of the 2 systems. My plan is to share every single aspect of this install in a transparent way so that we can make a fair comparison later. I don’t think we will see transmission issues compared to the similar impact that SC have over it but let’s see how it goes. I got all stock logs that will help to compare the impact in terms of the temp. among other stuff. I am supper excited about this install I will do my best to cover every detail. Stay tune for more!
The DYNO run in the video is a stock run for comparison after the install. It may vary on my Tundra but they made a stage 1 DYNO run that resulted in 439WHP / 500WTQ at 4.5 PSI. Here is the short video they posted about it th-cam.com/users/shorts7Y73tON0EAM
Yes, Water/Meth kit, SCG-1 Boost Controller, Fuse Box Relocation, Pipes among many other stuff! But I will cover all details in a series of videos. Stay tune! 🙂
