Just picked up the same model torch yesterday with the idea of cleaning it up and making it a user again. Thank you for the time you put into this beautiful restoration!

As your dad I’m a little prejudiced but you took this restoration to the next level. Many people don’t realize how much time it takes to do this whole production from the restoration itself (including Photoshop work on decal) to hours of editing. And a few calls to old dad to get some input😜. Very proud of you. Keep it up👍

Hello Martin, I have a lot to ask you fella. Hope that is all right. Be honest with me on the safety of this gasoline blow torch. Somehow this cannot be safe ??? Gasoline in your hand somehow just cannot get someone into trouble ??? Can you please give me some information to put my mind at ease ???? Thank you Sir Martin for you time also.

I just picked up the same one at a flea market! I had the same urge to make it some beautiful shelf art, but after watching your involved video I’ve decided this thing is meant to be dirty and I’d better just leave it that way. But I do intend on making it reliable to use at the least, so I really appreciate this video for seeing all the inner workings!

Congratulations on a great video and an actual restoration video.

Thank you for this video. I have an identical model torch, although from a different brand. It's ready for restoration and I was hoping to find something to guide me. You did an outstanding job on your torch. I hope I can do half so well. I really want it for a tool in the shop. I blacksmith for a hobby and these torches are very useful.

Inspires me to restore mine to working condition. I don't think my 1920s/1930s blow torch has been lit since the 1970s or 1980s and probably before it wound up at the antique store where I purchased it, the torch probably sat in an old person's shed or garage for years.

Now That is a proper restoration, and not just buffing it up, are painting a tool, and declaring you restored it. Very very nice work, and you've made yourself proud, by doing it the right way, and that's never the easy way. Yet, it's easier than doing it the second time.
I already read your Pop's comments, and his chest busted the buttons off his shirt it swelled up so big. So it's obvious his feelings about the efforts you applied in a few pieces of shiny brass, and all that goes into a excellent video.
That, and you listened, when he gave his advice. No school, like old school knowledge, when you need it.

Walnut shell in the sandblaster works very well for softer metals and does no damage.

I’ll have to get a box to try. I have quite a few projects that are brass or aluminum. Thank you for the tip!

I’m not a big fan of ripping things apart and trying to restore them anymore.
I used to be, but then realized that people, such as myself now, prefer things original and untouched. The most I’ll do now is clean it up non agree I let best I can and that’s it. Nice video, but not my style.

Mine didn't take as much to get going, but I wasn't as worried about appearance. Someone either took better care of mine, or it just wasn't heavily used or beaten industrially. Yours seems like it was left exposed to harsh conditions for a long time.. very impressive work. The only thing I can't get to go on it is the head. Do you suggest any ways to unscrew it other than just cutting it? Also, what was that paste you used at 16:01?

The cord inside the tank is less of a fuel filter and more a pathway to help get the fuel up into the nozzle, although it does help filter too 😉

@@PegasusProjects i got a lot of these while the buyers were only wanting fire extinguisher...many for not much more than scrap price...with the new surface mount LEDS...bluetooth speakers and such.. it's never been easier to modify and create one of a kind pieces...i also understand the mind of the purist...not wanting to damage....but...when you bite the bullet and take that leap...i hope you document it for us.

@@imperialpresence3331 I will. The few I have are extremely common and not valuable. They're beyond what I'm comfortable restoring and lighting up. I'll make a video out of it for you.

OK, I thought I liked it when you sanded every little piece on the drill press (I did like it), I thought I liked it when you rebuilt those old screws heads (I did, really impressive), and I thought I liked it when you took the time to recreate the label (again, well done, sir); but refitting the spigot handle with a brass center piece was just too much. It's over the top. It's crazy for this piece. AND THAT IS WHY I AM A PROUD SUBSCRIBER. ...(also I really liked the polishing and painting of the logo plunger handle).
