@@misterpatinaif you didn’t use Oxystrip and just blasted it would you get the same results. Letting a project sit for 28 days to strip off paint seems quite long, I love the way it came out!!!
@BuddyDanger 28 days was just a joke (there’s a movie called '28 days later'). I use paint stripper before sandblasting, because I don’t want to have the paint particles in my sandblasting cabinet, nor in my lungs.
Hey folks, additional info: The small gear with the 'missing teeth' isnt broke, it was manufactured this way - these teeth are missing on purpose: otherwise this gear wouldnt fit into the housing. On the other hand it controls the "way" of the lever, so it only can make a 90° turn. Thanks!
Excuse me Mister P but you mixed up the franchise timeline. This is John Wick 2 - Return of the Firethread as John Wick appeard first in my train lantern resto. It seems that Keanu is working with different producers. Let's confront him together while having our next beer. The laser work is really really nice. Overall great job and satisfying video.
Greetings from Petersburg! That's what I like about old blowtorches? The fact is that they work completely cynically, disregarding the quality of fuel, weather and temperature conditions, the condition of the valve and nozzle. And they don't care about their looks. They. Just. Сontinue to work. What about modern blowtorches? Either the gasoline is not the same, then the pressure is low, then the nozzle is a little dirty, then the weather is cold / hot.. Sucks, not blowtorches. As for your work, my friend, I would be pleased to work with such a blowtorch. Health and peace to your family! 🤝🤝🤝
Nice restoration. Laser machine is very interesting... About how it is working the blowtorch: Start by put 5-6 pumps for pressure, as you said. To preheat the head, you must put a small quantity of gasoline in the "cup" under the head and ignite. After preheating, works as you said. This type of blowtorch use normal gasoline, for cars, which is not so light. That is why the head was covered in soot at the beginning...
Nice sandblasting process! It works like only air, no dust. I restored Gustav Barthel on board the vessel and use handmade sandblasting camera (material plywood) - excessive dust. All your cinemas are very interesting and useful for beginners!
This genius never disappoints. I'm fascinated by his dedication and skill and to be truthful, somewhat jealous. Another highly enjoyable video. Thanks.
Beautifully done, sir. It was interesting to see the brass wheel brush polish the brass nozzle assembly. The torch looks brand new. The stenciling and painting looked spot on. I suspect that’ll go on the self somewhere to be displayed.
I still have one of my fathers. I remember him using it in the 1950's and 60's until propane torches became available. Finally cleaning it up this winter, I hope.
nice work 👍💪👍 sometimes i use a blowtorch of this type, but not exactly this one, for soldering. i not really need it - just for fun and enjoying the old technique
Oh, hey, I thought I was a Patreon at some point. Glad to see the channel is still going strong. I'll definitely be resubbing, I had to drop most of my subs.
For dents that are hard to pull, would using a stud welder and then a threaded rod be an option? Speaking as someone whose sole experience is from watching a bunch of TH-cam videos.
Mister Patina, you might be able to fabricate a cleaning brush for the torch out of a set of Carburetor Cleaning Brushes, they are used to clean carb jets, which are pretty narrow. try going down to your local auto parts store and ask about brass cleaning brushes for carburetor jets.
The Bakelite Boys sounds like a retro 1920s jazz band; perhaps a smaller version of Palast Orchester. I'd pay to listen to them! 😁 That laser is astounding. Looking forward to seeing what you do in the new workshop! 🙂🐵
Great restoration! Now I know who made the old blowtorch I got back to a nice and working condition many years ago which had no label or tag on it. On mine the tank is brass (same shape) and the valve / burner part is different (detachable nozzle, no cleaning lever, simpler casting, more plugs) , but the pump unit and the handle are absolutely identical (the latter is mounted with screws). Although I don´t know how yours came from the factory, I think it is missing a hood over the burner.
When Mister Patina and My Mechanics release videos one day apart from one another, it's a perfect weekend.
Thanks Colin! :-)

I was just writting about that..😄 ,work safety ,Peace..✌️
"Movie Night" with Mister Patina. Great movie referenced humour along with another great restoration!
Haha, thanks! Iam glad you enjoyed!
Top job. Body looks brand new. Labels, including laser engraving, showed your continued attention to detail. Fantastic. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome restoration Mr Patina.👍
Thanks my friend! 🙂
Why do you need to strip the paint if youre gonna sandblast? Would the paint and whatever else mess up the machine?
Youre right, it would conterminate the blasting media :-)
