    Love Volvos. They are certainly one of the best cars.

    Turbo-Charged 6-cylinder MANUAL V60/S60 all day! Is Polestar listening and viewing these comments!?

    S60 first time Volvo owner...and holy mother of god!!! It's unquestionable that a Polestar is my next one...A station wagon model would be a classic from the get-go as the ultimate SLEEPER (safest family) machine.

    The farts bro, the farts upon gear changes 🔥🔥I've been in 1 of these.. It's a very quick car, doesn't feel like 367hp🔥it's a beast

    Polestar Wes, I completely agree with you. I'm glad I have the inline six. IMHO, it is the sweetest engine Volvo has made. Kinda' sad that my next Volvo might be a 2020 full electric V90.

    The added 100 lbs goes over the rear axle, it may even help in some ways.

    I would love to see a V90 Polestar. That car is absolutely gorgeous, now it just needs the speed and handling to back up the looks both inside and out.

    I've driven Volvo's 2017 2.0 S90 AWD T6. Eight speed transmissions does quite a bit of shifting to keep it on the cam!
    I've driven Audi's 2017 2.0 A5 Quattro and sedan. It shifted a lot less for the same results and returned a more rewarding drive.
    I own Volvo's S60 R twice!2006 S60R with their 2.5 five-cylinder engine six speed auto, and the 2004.
    I'd prefer the first addition Polestar S60 sedan with the 3.0 six-cylinder engine. The high tech four turbo of today is, in my opinion a revamped Saab four-cylinder 2.3 Turbo from what the 80's?? Which could be modified to produce near 300hp then!! So, high-tech is basically old-tech modified.
    Audi is back to their five-cylinder engine in their 2018 RS3 making 400hp! And you don't have to stop, climb out the car to adjust it's suspension like in some four wheel drive truck to engage it's four wheel drive!?
    I simply press a button in my 2006 S60R to adjust suspension settings! Now everybody in 2017 does! Sounds like nothing but old fashion marketing when you really look at it.
    P.S. The Audi A5 is smoother and quieter rolling compared to the ride quality of Volvo S90. However, Polestar is exclusive and that is what any true car enthusiasts wants in the end.

    Out of those 3 options V90 would be best but for better performance a revised V60 or even better a revised V40 would be the ideal choice.

    V90 or the for sure to come at some point, V60 on the new platform. Pref manual but that 8 speed gearbox is kinda cool too so I'd be able to live with that. I always feel like Volvo is overlooked and underestimated and alot of people dont think they are either premium enough or fast enough or just dont know anything about them at all.
    I love them, Volvo's have always had cool designs and cant for the life of me see whats not premium about the Volvo's these days or even going back the last 20 - 30 years, I've not been in a tooon of cars but I've been in to some of their top models before, like the S90's of the 90's and other cars from Mercedes and BMW and Saab and what not, Audi... you know, and I've never ever thought, damn if only this Volvo was more premium then that BMW or Mercedes. Guess their problem is that they are playing it too safe so alot of people just gloss over Volvo alltogehter, even motorjournalists do so.
    The Volvo turbo models of the 80's where pretty quick cars, the 850R or T5 too and if you knew what you where doing you could get a ton of power out of those 5 cylinder engines. Even now when the XC90, S and V90 is out it feels like they are overlooked.
    I feel like right now I need to go to Volvo my self and yell at them to get them to really push harder to get their cars out there, show people what they can do.
    Just look at what came out a few weeks ago... "Oh right, we kinda had the ring record for a few weeks last year..." ooops, forgot to mention that. Some dont think its a big deal, I dont think its a huge deal really... but its Volvo we are talking about! They need all the streetcred they can get.
    That good with the moms cred is not enough guys! xD Also, this talk about Volvo's being boxy!... There have been a million other cars sold thats been boxy. Mercedes W124 series? Abit more rounded perhaps but thats splitting hairs... BMW's of the 70's and 80s where pretty boxy too, just abit more angels to them. But yet only Volvo get the "brick" and "rolling refrigerator" stamp. xD
    Volvo has all they need to make a proper weapon, thats for sure! They just need to dare do it. It does not need to rival the RS6 with 600 hp and 0 - 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds... but 4 - 4.5 would be sweet and 420? 450? hp maybe? I dunno... Not sure how realistic that is with these 2 liter engines. 8k RPM limit and a massive amount of boost? ;P Everyone knows that you can with the right engine even at 2 liters or less get insane power, 600, 800, 1000 hp! :D But that will not last long ofc, so wonder where the limit would be for a production 2 liter with alot of boost.. ;) and is 367 hp wheel hp? xD IF thats the case, then I'm pretty happy already I think! :D almost..

    guys, whats the reliability on these? i'm down to this and a toyota, and i need to know how reliable a polestar volvo is! a turbo charged and supercharged engine just screams problems to me, but i could be wrong!

    The 4 cylinder is what you want from a Polestar. The 6 cylinder Polestar is a souped up T6 R-Design.
    The 4 cylinder character makes you laugh all day. What a great piece of technology. The sound coming from it is very nice and sporty. Like a modern race car. The 6 cylinder shouts harder than it performs. A very nice shout that is must be said.

    • @v60polestar88
      @v60polestar88 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      JOJOD01 The 4 is also a souped up version of the new T6 a which is a supercharged and turbo. The 6 sounds much better unlike the vacuum sounding 4. The 6 is also smoother and more refined.
      T5= 4 cyl turbo
      T6= 4 cyl turbo/supercharged

    • @JOJOD01
      @JOJOD01 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Polestar 4 cylinder engine, B4204T43, is a different engine from the regular T6 4 cylinder version.

    • @v60polestar88
      @v60polestar88 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      JOJOD01 No it's the same Drive-E engine with different fuel pump, larger intake, and different camshaft. Volvo only makes one engine now. The Drive-E with turbocharger or super and turbocharged. I am a volvo4life guy and know my Volvos. Only difference between 16 and 17 is engine/transmission and the S+ launch control. I am sure the 17 is lighter too.

    • @aramiris
      @aramiris 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wes, I think that is what JOJO meant too, you see when yo change all that shit, you basically get a new engine, the B4204T43 is significantly different from the regular 4cyl T6.

    • @JOJOD01
      @JOJOD01 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The engine also comes with different compression ratio. The block is the same, the internals aren't. Different animal from the normal T6-4.

    Sounds pretty good for a four-cylinder with that much air being stolen out of the exhaust.

    V60 Polestar, once it's re-designed. V90 isn't that much bigger for the driver and front passenger, if any, and I don't need the rear seat legroom.

    The straight 6 is still the better engine.

    • @billdexhart5179
      @billdexhart5179 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe not better (not much the 6 does measurably better than the 4 compared to the other way round) but certainly more desirable.

    • @v60polestar88
      @v60polestar88 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bill Dexhart The 6 is smoother, more torque, sounds better, and proven reliability. The 4 has more hp and better fuel economy. I am not a big fan of every automaker ditching 6 cylinders for fours

    • @billdexhart5179
      @billdexhart5179 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Smoother probably, torque you got a point (although its only 20 ft-lb or 5%) and sound is personal preference (and unmeasurable) and if the 6 is more reliable is yet to be proven with the 4.
      Meanwhile the 4 is lighter, more economical, more powerful, more compact, more universal and cheaper (probably to produce and no doubt in development costs).
      Having said that, I agree and I'm said to see Volvo's straight-5 go. What a gem that was!

    • @v60polestar88
      @v60polestar88 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bill Dexhart Yes and the 4 only has 20 more hp. I am a Volvo guy and the 4 is already having oil burning issues stated on many forums. Sound has been criticized by many auto critics in magazines and on TH-cam. Saying it sounds like a vacuum. A 4 will never sound as good as a 5,6, or 8 cylinder that's just fact. I purchased my 16 because I wanted the 6. I do wish they would have put the 8 speed auto in my car but the 6 speed is still good. Most XC90 owners in the forums wished Volvo offer a 6 cylinder option because they felt the 4 wasn't refined enough.

      What forums do you recommend. I just bought a 2017 V60 Polestar and love it. I know there is a huge enthusiast community but am relatively new to Volvo performance.

      This is based on the Ford EUCD platform from 2006 which in itself is a stretched version of the 2003 Ford C1 platform.
