People seem to think the best guitarist of all time discussion is based on some kind of physicality, which is simply not true. While I can't disagree with him saying Jeff Beck is one of the greatest of all time, its because of other reasons such as his note choice, vibrato, and songwriting. Its the intangibles that make a guitarist great, like the ability to produce melodies on the instrument that are in their head. Jimi Hendrix isn't considered great because he played backwards or with his teeth. Non musicians are always more impressed by this type of stuff but real listeners and musicians are impressed by the quality of sound they are producing.
I always say this too. My favourite is Jimi Hendrix but not because he played with his teeth, behind his head, or set his guitar on fire a few times. That is just show and of course it adds to the image and it is a nice story to tell but those are tricks and nothing more than that. Other people always say Jimi was the first to do certain things and they are right but tbh I don't really care about that too much either. It is what he did with it, how he played, his creativity and imagination and his songwriting. Indeed melody, choice of notes. I hate this video because it is so superficial.
Jeff era uno de los Magos de la guitarra. He leído diferentes comentarios despectivos.
