- In today's video I do an unboxing and first imprpessions of the Novation Launchkey 49 mk3. I bought this keyboard to start creating music in Ableton after not using it for years now. Happy to be back and apply some of what I have learned making music with mobile gear, to my Ableton productions.

I love Ableton. I don’t work in the typical fashion that most Ableton users probably do. I work in the linear view or the arrangement view. So for me it’s just what I’m comfortable with.

@@KhordmasterThis is a video it's a review of a keyboard or what ?. This thing isn't even a keyboard, it's a Abelton controller. People are trying to figure out how to use and configure this complicated ass device, this is common sense dude.
You ask someone at the strore, the tell you to go on TH-cam...assuming people on TH-cam know what to explain, you don't. I bought the wrong keyboard now, us older people are not freaking familiar with all this stuff you guys have been doing at home with software, this is a software controller, understand ?. I guess not.

I’ve had the LaunchKey 49 MK3 for 2 years and it’s awesome. The pads, knobs, faders and transport never let me down. It has some hidden features like ‘…’ key that makes the pads into a mouse - just more reasons to NOT have to touch your computer while creating. It’s the best control surface I’ve ever owned 😊
BRO so true... the ability to press that button really does help make you not have to touch the keyboard or mouse at all. it has such tight integration with ableton!
I love it too. I've got the Control XL next to it which has a few redundant controls in factory settings but I can definitely customize in Components.

My friend, I'm a beginner playing the keyboard and I want to record the melodies that come to my mind. I'd like to produce my own songs in the near future and I'm looking for a midi keyboard to do that. Do you think this 49-keys keyboard is the best option?

I just got the 49 version. I have 5 black keys with a “clicky” sound when pressed… anyone experienced this or does all your black keys sound the same when pressed? Just 5 black keys make this, the last 3 from the 3rd octave and the first 2 from the 4th octave, the other black keys are actually very silent.
i ended up selling mine so can't check! but I don't recall any such issue

@@mosesmalone9091 I’ve reached the holy grail where I have access to virtually any piece of music gear without paying (which is dope!) so decided to offload some things

@@plantificationpodcast well I sold it hahhaa. But not for obvious reasons. Coincidentally tho, Ableton note did that. I’m obsessed with it now. Will be making a video on it soon!
