Well, this was fun. I got to join you guys in not knowing what was coming this Sunday and enjoy a little tune by Toni Lindgren and her brother Trevor Lindgren (joined by their friend Travis Worth). I hope you enjoyed this "Toni Takeover" and make sure to check out her TH-cam channel to keep up with the stuff she's going to be posting this year! Toni's channel: th-cam.com/channels/XoPP_wiMrp1xkHpQnpbt-Q.html See you next week! Reina
North Soul and Toni! What a great video! Trevor really rocks that mandolin. Saw North Soul open for Reina at the High Noon Saloon in Madison and have become a big fan. What a talented family, those Lindgrens! Thanks for the link to Toni’s page, Reina!
To me, it always looks like she is living in more then one world at the same time. Misterious woman, but I like it. Hoop she will be in my next life too. 😊
Thats my favorite Steely Dan song also. Im almost 65 and remember when that song came out in the 70s. I was a kid in my early 20s. Its almost like it was yesterday. Ive fond and bittersweet memories.
As the candle of my life grows dim and wanes it makes my old soul feel so good to see that the light burns brightly in so many young talents. Love these renditions.
As A DAN OF STEEL FAN since 1974....this Tune has always been one of my favorites....didn't get radio play back in the day but Steely Dan Fans know the instant it starts it's A Sweet Groovy Ride....Cheers Everyone
It always does my heart good when I see young people playing good music from my generation! A lot of music these days isn't even music,,, just machines! Bravo to all you kids!
You beat me to this response. Reina and all her pals make for great music and video in general, but Toni adds something extra. Not just the multi instrumental talent, but just watch her add just a bit of her own bliss with a smile or a bob of the head when a groove hits just right. She is an essential part of the chemistry of Reina’s Sunday’s. Looking forward to more Toni videos.
Cheers Toni. Well done. I had this thought. I really like you guys because you are transparent in your music. No gimmicks or electronic trickery. Just hugely talented people sharing their passion with the rest of us. Thank you.
Yes and I truly appreciate that they are all clean and they dress like their actual gender. That weird gender problem that's going around tdd these days makes me cringe. I wont even listen to music from those wackos or watch their movies or videos. I do however feel kind of sorry for those who are born with both sexes. Most seem very confused about what they really are and end up being open to both sides of the fence. It's sad. But these kids are just plain and simple performers doing what they love. Ya can't shake a stick at that.
Loved this . Brought tears to my eyes . I saw Steely Dan at Wembley stadium beginning of last year . Dirty Work was possibly my favourite of the set . This cover ?? I love it that young people are loving Steely . Great 🤗👍👍👍
I said right off ,"He could be her brother!" Sweet! Great work! Now 2022. I wish I had tuned into all of you earlier to keep spirits up in the darker times. Now I'm catching up.
I spent my final semester of college living/working in Mpls, and commuting Mondays and Wednesdays back to UW @ Eau Claire to finish my degree. I had two cassette tapes. I can't remember one, but the other one was Can't Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan. You know it is a good album when you've listened to it 1,000 times and still enjoy it.
Now that was different and fun! Love me some Steely Dan and of course I absolutely love Toni... Love have you put the light on Toni, you are truly a classic!! Sunday complete...
So I'm an old dude who had a copy of that album in the 70's. Also, proud to say I was the 88,989th viewer of this video - glad I was - y'all did the tune justice. Keep it up, I'm watching. About to go subscribe to Toni Lindgren.
I am a fan of Toni, but I am a fan of Reina too, you two make beautiful harmonies together. All the people you work with make great music and I am blown away how well you can do the music that was so far beyond your time. I am 59 and I love your videos and the covers you do, you bring life back into the classic rock songs. Keep up the good work. You do great work Reina, I look forward to your videos every time I see a new one. I have also binge watched your older stuff ... That goodness you playing live shows, you do have a beautiful voice.
I think you are a beautiful person for supporting Toni´s work. Toni is amazing, but so are you. Love your voice and emotion you bring into your songs. Keep it up!
You never can have enough Toni in your life” I love ya both but as a guitarist myself I’m a fan of her style and way she flows with the music. I also think she’s beautiful! Come to Rome Ga I know a few venue owners here.
It makes me happy when people from your generation discover great music from the past. Great cover by Toni and friends. She is very talented as are you and your group of friends.
I was a lifeguard at Moravian Falls, NC swimming hole, the summer between sophomore and junior college stint. "Dirty Work" and "Rikki Don't loose That Number" played on the jukebox loud speaker all summer, good memories, good times.
Thanks once more for my Sunday (early Monday) smile. It's inspiring to watch and listen to incredibly talented young musicians performing and enjoying the hell out of it. Nice selection as well.
Well now, I'm impressed!!😁 Donald Fagen & Walter Becker (aka Steely Dan) wrote some of the most technically challenging music in jazz/rock/pop history, so this group was taking on a real task just to perform it and make it flow. I got hooked on Steely Dan back in the early 70's with their hit 'Reelin' in the Years' and actually bought the 'Pretzel Logic' album on vinyl in 1974 before I graduated from high school. Very cool stuff, thanks Reina!😍🎵🎶🎵👍👍
YIKES!!!! That was killer. Had to watch twice... once to see and hear Toni and Trevor and friend do a great Steely Dan tune, second to watch Reina jammin and singing along (like me) to the vibes. Make sure Toni and crew know we had a blast with the Sunday Morning offering.
Excellent presentation. I actually came to your channel via Toni's channel today, after watching her Alaska camper van rendition of the wonderful Bob Dylan song Buckets of Rain. You are both, and all your other collaborators, such wonderful musicians and singers. Long may you all run, sing and play great music.
Amazing job! Covering any Steely Dan song is very hard work. It’s not easy because there are so many instruments used that a lot of times some people do it right or it does a lot of injustice. but you guys did this great well done!
It's acoustic, meaning no vocal amplification, cept that guitar, so,... but yeah he's very talented, they harmonize very well. Excellent interpretation, why not say that rather than pick it apart, it's quite obvious the talent is there, and HUGE !
Tony Lucca introduced this song to me. Funny thing is I was a fan of the original artist but this song doesn’t make the radio. It’s covers like this that connect me to the past and respect artists who expose me to the future.
More than cool Toni! Love hearing you with your brother and friend performing an all time favorite - Dirty Work! You guys sound awesome! Was pleasantly surprised the other day when you showed up on Lissie's Instagram site. Will always remember when I saw You, Reina and the boys playing in Lexington. The newSunday Schedule - Sunday Shoutout from Sugar Lime Blue, Reina del Cid and now Toni Lindgren. My dance card is filling in! Best Wishes for the coming year. Peace Out Lake Trout!!!
Awesome Steely Dan rendition!!!! One amazing collaboration!!!! I have seen Steely Dan in concert and was truly FANtastic!!!! Thanks for sharing this beautiful song👌💐
This was fun, I have always been a Steely Dan fan since I first heard them on FM radio... “new” technology in high school... LOL. Toni’s brother and friend are very good. Brilliant!
Tony's Brother is right there with them.!

Reina
OK Reina 😊✌
North Soul and Toni! What a great video! Trevor really rocks that mandolin. Saw North Soul open for Reina at the High Noon Saloon in Madison and have become a big fan. What a talented family, those Lindgrens! Thanks for the link to Toni’s page, Reina!
Great music! Just subscribed to Toni’s channel. 😀
As usual, really good!
😁
Yikes! You didn’t have the right chords in some places and you were off key in several parts. D+
I love the way Toni smiles while playing her guitar, as if she enjoys being immersed in the sound.
To me, it always looks like she is living in more then one world at the same time. Misterious woman, but I like it. Hoop she will be in my next life too. 😊
As a massive Steely Dan fan of over 40 years this is fantastic , beautiful!
My favorite Steely Dan tune. I'm old enough to remember when it was a hit. The three of them do it nicely. Their voices sound really good together.
I remember it too Roger. What a great song and these youngins did a great job with it.
My favorite song by Steely too!!
Under rated song and album, The Dan were the Sh*t all through the 70's
Also my fave Roger. I came to them late but pleased to hear this cover of the Dan's fine song.
I have listened to all of their studio and seen them live and this is the best.
Thats my favorite Steely Dan song also. Im almost 65 and remember when that song came out in the 70s. I was a kid in my early 20s. Its almost like it was yesterday. Ive fond and bittersweet memories.
I'm just 67 and still remember the record shop I bought 'Can't buy a Thrill' when it came out..
Bittersweet indeed. The same word used to in the liner notes on the album to describe David Palmer's rendering of this song
Toni's guitar detail is impeccable!
I was thinking the same. She’s really good
As the candle of my life grows dim and wanes it makes my old soul feel so good to see that the light burns brightly in so many young talents. Love these renditions.
Very well said!
From a fellow redfish fan - nicely done!
As A DAN OF STEEL FAN since 1974....this Tune has always been one of my favorites....didn't get radio play back in the day but Steely Dan Fans know the instant it starts it's A Sweet Groovy Ride....Cheers Everyone
Toni's guitar part is just completely awesome on this one. BRAVO!
Steely Dan is my all time favorite
Good choice
Ron Townsend--- My # is RUSH....But The Dan of Steel and many others are ALL up high on my listening list too....Cheers
Mine too .
To me Steely Dan and Jim Croce = not a bad song in the whole bunch
Reelin in the Years was one of my favorite Steely Dan albums and I enjoyed listening to these three fine musicians and singers doing it justice.
It always does my heart good when I see young people playing good music from my generation! A lot of music these days isn't even music,,, just machines! Bravo to all you kids!
If it’s got Toni in it then you know it’s got me watching.❤️😍❤️
I was 13 when Steely Dan released this song back in 1972, it brings back great memories! Thanks Reina!
Toni Lindgren is such an artist. I love what she does on her instrument. Bravo.
“You can never have enough Toni in your life.” That seems like a great phrase to put on your merch. :)
You beat me to this response. Reina and all her pals make for great music and video in general, but Toni adds something extra. Not just the multi instrumental talent, but just watch her add just a bit of her own bliss with a smile or a bob of the head when a groove hits just right. Chris Jones well said!
I wonder how many Guys just love Toni 🤔
Reina, you really should make some merch with this line.
Truer words never have been spoken.
Oh wow, so good. Sunday morning indeed.
The casual perfection of this cover is so awesome!
That's an awesome phrase, "casual perfection". That's when you know that all of the hard work has paid off, and the music just flows. :))
This is my generation's music. Enjoy. Pass it to the next generation when you're done.
I watch this over and over and never get tired of it, you 3 are brilliant, please do much much more!
Cheers Toni. Well done.
I had this thought. I really like you guys because you are transparent in your music. No gimmicks or electronic trickery. Just hugely talented people sharing their passion with the rest of us.
Thank you.

toni has such soul and touch. love the crew

Came back a couple weeks later to listen again. Mic that boy up! Tight musicianship! Excellent.
Happy that young people appreciate great timeless music
I spent my final semester of college living/working in Mpls, and commuting Mondays and Wednesdays back to UW @ Eau Claire to finish my degree. I had two cassette tapes. I can't remember one, but the other one was Can't Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan. You know it is a good album when you've listened to it 1,000 times and still enjoy it.
I’m with you - I can listen to ‘Can’t buy a thrill’ every day and not get sick of it. Top album not a single bum track.
Now that was different and fun! Love me some Steely Dan and of course I absolutely love Toni... Love have you put the light on Toni, you are truly a classic!!
Sunday complete...
Toni's guitar playing brought me here!! She is phenomenal.
Love catching those Wheel of Time books on the shelf back there, too!!!
love Steely Dan one of my all time favorite bands. Great low key Jazzy/rock music.
I can not get enough of Toni either! Great family, great group, great sound!
Good group. Toni , as always. the great musician.
Steely Dan is my favorite band and this is fantastic.
WOW , i was so mesmerized, watching Toni and family, that i forgot i was watching it live w you.what a great little clan you have as musicians!!!
So I'm an old dude who had a copy of that album in the 70's. Also, proud to say I was the 88,989th viewer of this video - glad I was - y'all did the tune justice. Keep it up, I'm watching. About to go subscribe to Toni Lindgren.
You guys are pure genius
I did enjoy watching it with you. It was a nice change and a tribute to your freind with honor... Loved it.
Very impressivo. Steely Dan arrangements are notably hard to reconstruct and this gang has got it down pretty well, in spite of no keyboard or drums.
I am a fan of Toni, but I am a fan of Reina too, you two make beautiful harmonies together. All the people you work with make great music and I am blown away how well you can do the music that was so far beyond your time. Thanks for the tip. You are both great. You'r a good friend to Toni. Thanks for sharing.
Always an inspiration watching Toni playing guitar and I love you all guys & girls in your performances
Thank you for good playing of Toni Lindgren and her brother Trevor Lindgren. I hop your tours will be successful, See you again.
As a HUGE Steely Dan fan...
I'm impressed. Well done.
I think you are a beautiful person for supporting Toni´s work. Toni is amazing, but so are you. Love your voice and emotion you bring into your songs. Keep it up!
Reina and Toni are absolutely fantastic together. I love Reinas rich almost rusty voice and it's very smooth and beautiful.
You never can have enough Toni in your life” I love ya both but as a guitarist myself I’m a fan of her style and way she flows with the music. I also think she’s beautiful! Come to Rome Ga I know a few venue owners here.

It was so nice to hear this again. It's been years
Looking forward to more from Toni. Absolutely loved when she sang Church Street Blues a little while back.
One of my favorite Steely Dan songs. Great harmonies! I love Toni as well. She is devoted to her instrument, whatever it is she happens to be playing.
Welcome to our world! Excellent fun. Happy Sunday morning.
Thanks once more for my Sunday (early Monday) smile. It's inspiring to watch and listen to incredibly talented young musicians performing and enjoying the hell out of it. Nice selection as well.
I love all of guys, especially Toni. Your one of the best guitarists I've ever heard.
Gr8 song, Gr8 album, one of my favorites too, nice harmonies gr8 job. Thanks 4 the turn on!
Nice. One of favorite "Dan" tunes.

This was great! One my favorite Steely Dan songs!!
Loved you since 2016. Great tune from my childhood
Amazing job! Covering any Steely Dan song is very hard work. It’s not easy because there are so many instruments used that a lot of times some people do it right or it does a lot of injustice. but you guys did this great well done!
Get them a vocal mic. Dude sounds like he has a great voice and the harmonies were clean. I am looking forward to hearing more from them.
Ron's being polite! What the heck ?!! At least put a voice mic in the same Area Code !! SEEMED like nice harmonies!! ; >
Spot on Ron
It's acoustic, meaning no vocal amplification, cept that guitar, so,... but yeah he's very talented, they harmonize very well. Excellent interpretation, why not say that rather than pick it apart, it's quite obvious the talent is there, and HUGE !
@@jackinthewoodsii8653 So.. electric for guitar but not the mic? Not buying it. Mic the dude.
Hearing is believing, & watching it is even more fascinating. Beautifully done !!!
i love music done with skill and heartful funky soul.
Those are the harmonies I've been looking for ❤️
Tony Lucca introduced this song to me.
