It's an experience for sure. It's out and about...all over right now! Zyrtec and Flonase are my best friend this time of year.

housing mkt. is tight everywhere I look above Atlanta, very hard to get townhouse with garage without expensive main. fees
Unfortunately, Fulton County does not remove the school portion of property taxes for seniors. Fulton County did however lower the property tax millage rate. I believe Fulton county has the highest property taxes in the state of Georgia. I think property taxes in Texas are about 2.5 times what we pay though! I'm 70 and enjoy doing yard work and I may be in the minority in that respect. Spending time in my yard and landscaping is one of the things I enjoy. When I was twenty, thirty seemed old to me. At 70, I feel more like a 20-30-year-old and I often can't relate to old people (people my age).

I'm in Tampa and got my heart set to move to Blairsville or Blue ridge Georgia but I'm not sure if that's a good idea just yet, can you please compare the two for me?
Blairsville is the ideal outdoor enthusiast's domain. Open spaces/beauty/available land for sale Summer vacation hot bed for Floridians. Winter snow. Small town politics. Easy access to ATL via Zell Miller Parkway I575. Blue Ridge is now very popular with retirees driving up properties. 20 minutes closer to ATL. Larger population density. Better town and restaurants.

income tax is in GA, be careful
Read about the Georgia Retirement Income Exclusion. It makes the GA income tax for most retirees tiny.
@@gregfey6013 how about prop. taxes after 65? in TX once I hit 65, I got a large cut there which helped a lot
@@michaelsix9684 This varies by county, but most counties cut out the school tax after age 65, which is about 2/3 of your property tax bill. She explained that in the video.
