- More carbon for my MK3 Focus RS all the way from the USA!
You may know that I love a bit of carbon fibre and have done several videos in the past about carbon bits for my MK3 Ford Focus RS and my old MK7 Fiesta ST before it and this video is the latest in the Focus RS carbon series, featuring several interior carbon fiber items from Tufskinz!
I recently kicked off the Focus RS Carbon series after a bit of a pause with the super cool carbon fibre arch guards / mud flaps from the MK3 Focus RS Club and they have been doing really well and now I am back with the next instalments of the carbon passion / obsession for my Ford Focus RS MK3!
The new Tufskinz carbon fibre mods are:
- 3 Gauge Cluster Accent
- Interior Door Handle Surround (Front Doors) Accent Trim
- Rear Interior Kit
- Steering Wheel Trim
I have been searching for a solution to getting carbon fibre into the boost gauge cluster in the middle of the dash for some time now and have concluded that there are 4 viable options:
1 - Search the used market / breakers for one - I did this for a long time and came up short - only ever found one RHD used and the seller wanted almost new money for it so it was a bust
2 - Buy a new genuine ford carbon pod - perfect OEM fitment and quality carbon but hugely expensive
3 - Dipped - Hydrodip option available from the likes of Paintmodz - looks OK at a distance but obviously no real carbon up close, still costs around £150
4 - Tufskinz - very easy install, the only company offering such a product, cheaper even than dipped
So as the above will portray, Tufskinz was very much the best option in terms of getting the balance right for quality, aesthetics, cost effectiveness and convenience!
There are other pieces of carbon fiber available from Tufskinz for both interior and exterior but this is as far as I have gone for now. Other items include surrounds for all the air vents which are cool but I want to think about those a little more - how much carbon is too much?
Installation is super easy and quick - certainly much quicker than having to fully remove and replace interior parts (which is always scary when dealing with fragile plastic!)
Each piece of carbon trim is cut to the exact size and shape of the area that it is intended to be installed so the process is literally as easy as cleaning / alcohol wiping the area, peel and stick!
I really love the discrete and classy, upmarket look of these carbon trim pieces in conjunction with all the other bits of carbon that I already have in my Focus RS interior so check them out being installed in this video and see how the results speak for themselves in the end!

Looking at your passenger side door in the United States we have the lock unlock button on both front doors it looks like you only have it on the driver side door interesting. Thanks for another great video!
Looks great, only the carbon fiber shift knob is missing
Thanks Joel, my shift knob is specifically a very heavy weighted knob to aid shifting whereas the carbon knob is lighter than the stock knob which wouldn't suit my setup

Hi Ben, yea ordered direct. The postage hit didn't seem as bad when ordering lots of stuff but if you're only looking one bit then probably not worth it

not at this point, in my head it would show up lots of stone chips more so than the stock trim. what do you reckon?
