I saw the Joshua tree tour in the spring of in San Diego CA what a treat that was...we were having a tail gate party and I met some kids from Mexico. At first I thought no big deal Mexico border is just a few Miles away but as u got to know the 3 they were from Mexico city thousands of miles away and gave themselves 30 days to get there because of corrupt police anyway i had a extra ticket and one of the three needed a ticket so I gave it to them. They were so grateful for thus but my thought was they earned they deserved the ticket. Then by coincidence the four tickets were in the same section so we enjoyed the show together ....great memories..peace Terry

It's not that often that a band can bring back a decades-old song and play it with just as much passion (if not more) than the original version. U2 are one of few bands that can do that, and this gorgeous performance is proof. I am only 17 years old but The Joshua Tree touches me more than anything from my lifetime.

I think it's awsum that they accompanied his body back home and attended the tangi. He was clearly a very special person and I hope his whanau take comfort in the song and legacy he left. Also, my thoughts with loved ones of the miners. Kia kaha, Kia toa, Kia manawanui.

When that final "and when it's raining" outro kicks in, your heart just stops. The pain in his voice freezes time

Not only is this a brilliant song, this also shows the human class of this great band ; They don't forget there friends who passed too early . I think it's great they still remember Greg in this massive tour . Really a class act !! And of course Excellent audio (you should listen this with a good head set) from Mek, as always .

What a great song, and to think that this was not even released as a single. What an album it came from too. Brilliant from start to finish. Love THE JOSHUA TREE.

We turn away to face the cold, enduring chill
As the day begs the night for mercy love
The sun so bright it leaves no shadows
    Only scars carved into stone
    On the face of earth
The moon is up and over One Tree Hill
We see the sun go down in your eyes
You run like river, on like a sea
You run like a river runs to the sea
And in the world a heart of darkness
    A fire zone
    Where poets speak their heart
    Then bleed for it
Jara sang, his song a weapon
    In the hands of love
You know his blood still cries
    From the ground
It runs like a river runs to the sea
It runs like a river to the sea
I don't believe in painted roses
    Or bleeding hearts
While bullets rape the night of the merciful
    I'll see you again
When the stars fall from the sky
And the moon has turned red
    Over One Tree…
