omg every member of this band is so good...guitarists share leads(good ones)...drummer is a madman...bassist has taps in there and the vox sounded sick this album they're so damn good
@@doomzy8622 it's a lot more than that. Go try the lead fills in Follow the Signs. By the way a gallop is not the same as a triplet. A triplet is all 16th notes for each beat while a gallop is an eighth before/after two sixteenth notes. Gallops are what people use in breakdowns. And go play Devastate and tell me that's just all breakdowns. You don't even know shit about music obviously 😂
you guys got me into metal. so much creativity and talent. i cant wait to finally experience you live at the All Stars Tour!!! and it's awesome the drummer's got a bearded dragon =]
The only reason there's a Periphery instrumental album is because Misha already had already self-produced a shit ton of material before they had a vocalist. There was never an official instrumental album release.
***** Born of Osiris are beginning to go downhill anyway. Lee is the only guitarist at concerts and its obvious he isn't practice, as much as he should anyways. The point I was trying to make was not that Ronnie can't sing, since a lot of folks think Sotelo sucks, I can see why you would assume that's what I meant. If indeed it is what you assumed. I personally love the vocals but some of my friends find the screaming ''weird'' and they can't hear the genius buried under the screaming, if you know what I mean. Wanted to sample of a few songs too.
Sucks Jason isn't with them anymore, this album was special. TWDA was Alright, but you could tell the songwriting took a backseat. Maybe that's what they wanted...
Just look at BOO and Chelsea grin before Jason joined.... Decent... Then Bam great guitar work and programming. and then he leaves and the bands are just shit again.
Nah, BoO were fucking sick before Jason too. When he joined the were in their own level. Open Arms to Damnation, Sights and Sounds, Abstract Art were fucking sick.
Those songs were undeniably great for the time. But then the next album "A Higher Place" was just ok. They only really showed progress once jason came and then when he left they went back to the same old thing.
The Discovery is definitely BOO’s best album and would have never been created without Jason. But with that said, BOO is far from shit since. Tomorrow We Die Alive and Soulsphere are great albums.
Jason has the impressive melodies, not so technical and over the top that it's incomprehensible. Lee has soul in his though, those bends and the more simple but well-spoken notes. They were a power duo.
@SniperUnreal its drop G. if i'm right, its like any normal drop tuning except you have an extra high string. i'm going off the top of my head here so i'm not entirely sure of each individual string.
Well that's the point. When you're recording something you want it to sound as perfect as you can get it, and so a lot of people use triggers to accomplish that. Some people even use a drum machine instead of actually recording the live drums.
why did Jason get kicked out? he was such a talented awesome guitarist, in my opinion, i think he was the one that made The Discovery such an amazing album.
it's a flutter, you hit either just one note or you could hit the same note twice on two strings, or even two notes, one a half step higher than the next and put pressure on the trem bar and slide your finger off the end of it so that it pops back up into place and it will vibrate when it gets back to original position causing a fluttery sound.
The funny thing is Lee does the slower solos and harms and if you take a look at new Chelsea Grin then you can see just how awesome JR really is since that is all his work. I will admit he dimmed down a bit due to breakdowns n such but he still had epic guitar either way when the new album comes out let's just see how it ends up.
@Reid Poffenbarger he's a great drummer. He was taught by a black man 1 Arm. That's probably why his technique may be different. I've seen them live many times and will see them again next month.
That guitar Lee is playing is a John Petrucci (Dream Theatre) signature Ernie Ball. I have the same guitar in six-string, same "Mystic Dream" paint job and everything.
@Beautyofmachines the real ASP guitarist was Chris Storey, not Jason Richardson, Jason only joined to tour for a couple months, then he left Jason is not the one behind ASP's insane guitar riff / solos but i must agree that the solo at 4:07 - 4:23 is awesome
@IamAtree000001 Well in some songs he is like Recreate for example but Jason was also playing the leads in follow the signs, behold and devastate. Lee is crazy good too so he does play some leads. I don't even think there was a "Lead" guitarist in BOO since they were both playing some leads/solos correct me if I'm wrong :S.
@VegetativePropaganda His "covers" were audition videos, he wanted (and probabably still wants) to be in BOO. And he did not created TS btw, he joined as a replacement guitarist. Threat signal's members are based in Canada and Travis lives in Texas, so joining BOO would make sense.
Lol jason Richardson is wearing a Chelsea grin shirt.
So funny to hear Lee react to Jason shredding the Follow the Signs solo. If only he knew what that solo would mean for him in the future...
Could you elaborate? I'm not familiar with the band's bio.
Bambuzzsprosse They kicked Jason out and Lee pretty much had to learn that and what becomes to his performance... maybe he today plays it alright idk
follow the sings and recreate is the only song from the discovery what they can play live today i guess
Kimmo Kesti They play Singularity and Two Worlds of Design sometimes
That Follow the Signs solo is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard.
Cameron is a beast on drums.
He is. His form is so bad though but he ends up pulling it off
The keyboard is the most metal thing in that band guys, no joke. It brings so much life to the music.
Comment section:
1. Jason
2. Jason Richardson
3. Richardson
4. Jason's jacket
Sauron Jason is amazing
Pure magic! Soooo talented and creative young people! Can't imagine music for next 10 years!
Haven’t seen these in years. Jason Richardson has always been so insanely clean.
The drummer is just incredibly talented.
omg every member of this band is so good...guitarists share leads(good ones)...drummer is a madman...bassist has taps in there and the vox sounded sick this album they're so damn good
7 years later and i still want them to make "the discovery 2" with jason
i still find myself coming back to the album.... it was a masterpiece
X2
Now it's 12 years later lmao
That would be the biggest comeback for this band . I dare to dream. Would definitely top BTBAMs colors II publicity wise
5:07 Lee McKinney and his awesome solo
you guys have to admit that's really relaxing and amazing
Lol Jason's wearing a Chelsea grin shirt when they're recording his parts.
very underrated, they are amazing musicians, they sound like computers
i just noticed that Jason is wearing a Chelsea Grin shirt in this video! we knew the future back then and never realized.
Jason and Lee were unstoppable on this record. What a duo.
Lee McKinney has the awsome talent to put so much emotions in his guitarwork *_*
Still the coolest studio update ever!
Met Lee not long ago in Denver. Super nice guy.
I love this band because every player's instrument stands out
How they manage to record such highly technical music so effortlessly is beyond me. I sometimes have trouble with simple power chord riffs.
Why can't you just practice
Its just fast triplet breakdowns with solos. Dont overthink it🙃
Just. Practice.
@@doomzy8622 it's a lot more than that. Go try the lead fills in Follow the Signs. By the way a gallop is not the same as a triplet. @@AustinBrake98 solos/leads same thing. Triplets/gallops its all preference. Its like your trying 2 compare tomato tomato with your life😅
Listened to this album for 8 hours straight from New Jersey to Ohio. It kept me awake driving through Pennsylvania.
Jason is so fucking dank..i miss him in BOO
8:03 is the reason why i purchase every single album you guys will ever create
4:06
That guitar tone for that lead part is INSANE!!!!!
the commenters, not the band, you guys deserve to be famous!
My fish nail soup bracelet
Thank you so much TH-cam, I haven't seen this in years.
Ha Jason has a Chelsea Grin shirt on...
you guys got me into metal. so much creativity and talent. i cant wait to finally experience you live at the All Stars Tour!!! and it's awesome the drummer's got a bearded dragon =]
I love Ronnie but they should also release an instrumental album like Periphery did with their first self-titled album. Their create masterpieces.
The only reason there's a Periphery instrumental album is because Misha already had already self-produced a shit ton of material before they had a vocalist. There was never an official instrumental album release.

*****
Don't you count the special release of the debut album with the instrumentals on the 2nd CD an official release?
Jason Richardson is such a good guitarist. Him and Lee Mckinney are the perfect duo
Poor Lee
Joe's vocals contrast Ronnie's so well! Like, damn.
Cameron is a beast at drumming!
Why Jason, whyyyyyyyy...
Hahaha @ 8:43! You guys are great by the way, love your work.
that is how you fuckin play follow the signs
Probably the best video I've ever seen.
the drummer is hilarious XD
These guys are a trip. I loved chilling with them at Mayhem!
lol love how Jason is wearing a CG shirt and soon enough, he ends up being in CG.
still.... he belongs in BOO more than he does in CG.
jason is such a beast. im so stoked for the album!
BUT IT'S SLIME, IT'S ALL JUST A DARK TRICK!
im going to come back and like this every day. SO GOOD
part time, it's time for part....
Born Of Osiris has such a unique and talented drummer.
Mark Tremonti is KING!!!
i feel like born of osiris are one of the most talented bands in the world right now. literally never herd anything like the dicovery.
Sucks Jason isn't with them anymore, this album was special. TWDA was Alright, but you could tell the songwriting took a backseat. Maybe that's what they wanted...
Born Of Osiris is Love
Love is Blind
Ray Charles is Blind
Ray Charles is Born Of Osiris!!!

Dawg... are you really gonna sit here and tell me My Damnation and Desolation of Eden were "decent"? Come on, that was peak Chelsea Grin.
@@Knosferatu for real, I loved the discovery era too but people forget how sick the previous couple albums were at the time
qoq, u guys awsome, nice guitarwork in the video...
honestly, they should release a instrumental version of the album. It would be absolutely sick
Jason has the impressive melodies, not so technical and over the top that it's incomprehensible. Lee has soul in his though, those bends and the more simple but well-spoken notes. They were a power duo.
song 4:40 "born of osiris - bow down "
that face at 7:36 hahaha il love Boo !
This album is going to be killer!
definitely this is a great band!!!!
wow...i really love the new Discovery lp by BOO...superb quality production \m/
true musicians...bravo born of osiris
This guy is mad good at drums. The whole band is good at everythin. :D

why did Jason get kicked out?

I want to see studio updates for 2013 album...
So many references to Drinking Out of Cups here. 🤣
@Dravn1349 they've got a lot to compete with, Scurrilous and Digital Veil are both coming out in march.
@VegetativePropaganda His "covers" were audition videos, he wanted (and probabably still wants) to be in BOO. And he did not created TS btw, he joined as a replacement guitarist. Threat signal's members are based in Canada and Travis lives in Texas, so joining BOO would make sense.
i want drummer like this guy man
This is the best studio update ever
7:14 brought tears to my eyes.
dam, these guys are all so fucking good at what they do.
@Skate4it i don't think anyone knows yet, the only one's they've introduced to the public so far are "Intelligent Design" and "Visualize Perfection"
fell inlove with the beat at 1:48 in new to Born of Osiris got recommended them by a guy at work... which song is he playing?
@tombeaney That part is from the song Regenerate at 2:01
This Album is Going To Be The Best Of The Year (Whenever it comes Out)
p.s i laughed so hard i almost shit my pants at 9:49
That guitar from 6:05, can anybody tell the song this part is from?
@Angelaa2481 It's the 7-strings from Musicman. John petrucci signature :)
best cd in metal for awhile, its soo original and bad ass
@MyNutsAreCold they're using 7 strings on the new one so it's in G i think
ive seen this this video more that 10 times X)
The song at 1:49 is Last Straw
i love how in 5:00 you can see jason wearing a chelsea grin shirt
I think my favorite is the guitar update. Their rhythm guitarist is on an electric scooter, driving around a wal-mart while talking.
youre right, just compared to their earlier stuff. jr was a major part in writing the discovery
OMG! Jason is wearing a Chelsea Grin shirt isn it? We should get that advice hahaha
i love the drummers awkwardness it's fucking hilarious !! xD
00:02
"my teacher wants to give me homework, but I don't want none!!!" xD
I like how Jason is wearing a Chelsea Grin shirt in the parts where he's playing guitar. It's like he knew...
