Power skating is DEAD and is not a method that nhlers use today to skate. A drill telling kids to go as "hard as you can end to end" doesn't teach kids how to skate. Skating mechanics are 100% rotational mechanics, knees/hips are internally rotated, that's how McDavid/barzal/Eichel skate. Powerskating with a knee rotated out and a hard "push" was teaching that skating is a linear motion and was 100% wrong. The fact that powerskating is still being taught boggles my mind
Thank you very much Bella for your point of view. Definitely power skating isn't dead, but I agree that power skating and skating teachings have changed a lot 😉🏒
I musta missed something. The vid shows a couple of perfect examples of what is typically taught by Robby, Laura, et al, going back to John Wild. Teach thru exaggeration and when done at game speed, especially handling puck, there will be proper power, stability and agility from muscle memory. Ya, there’s been technical evolution, but the basics are pretty much intact.
*Many camps in many camps.... had a fun time working with you Robby!*
Good stuff Robby, looking forward to seeing you in Jacksonville😀
