    Thanks Ged. This is the first video i have seen that shows this immigration office. On google maps it only shows the one out of town so now i know. Me and the missus are moving to Hua Hin in August and cant wait.

    Just did my first 90 day report yesterday at Bluport. I’m not sure why there is so much complaining about it. I needed to do some shopping anyway so just took my TM47 and passport. The queue was maybe 10 minutes then less than 2 minutes with the very cheerful officer and done! So easy. It is sad though to see Bluport so deserted every time I go down there though.

      Hi Bill. It wasn't meant as a complaint. I just can't see what the point of it is. We are supposed to tell them when we change addresses or move anyway, so I can't see the point of going there and taking up their time and my time three times a year just to tell them that I haven't moved it's more practical to report to them if/when we move.
      I saw on the news today that one of the politicians hoping to take over from the present prime minister said that he would scrap the 90-day report if his party gets in.

    Was out there in April and loved hua hin. My next trip will be in January 2023 and I plan on going to hua hin, chumphon and krabi. I might also go ko samui as I've heard its the most amazing place in Thailand....I will say that I was not a fan of phuket because of all the mega tourism so I'm a bit apprehensive when visiting the islands.

      Hi Keith Thanks for your comment and input. Samui is a fantastic place to visit and more so now with the lack of tourism. No crowded beaches, cheap accommodation, nice people and still lots to do. I was there about 6 weeks ago. A word of advice 2 years ago pre-covid Chaweng was the place to stay but not now because many places have closed down due to lack of tourism, For me Lamai is the best place and Bophut is also a good area.

      Hi David and Kai. A lot has changed since November 2019, covid arriving in Thailand two months later being the main and it's sad to see a lovely shopping centre like Blueport being so empty. Hopefully things will turn around soon and Thailand will pick up again.
      Cheers

    Thanks Ged, very informational. Unbelievable immigration is only open 5 hours a day, 5 days a week.

      That's the government for you. More so when it involves dealing with us foreigners, they love to make us wait and let us know who is in charge...lol

    thanks for the information. im thinking of leaving nz and retiring to Thailand next year.... was it a legal requirement to have health insurance when there was no covid.

    • @thailandmyland...retiringd2351
      @thailandmyland...retiringd2351  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Judith. There has never to my knowledge been a legal requirement to have health insurance to qualify for a retirement visa. Last September because of the effect that Covid was having on hospitals here the government were talking about making it part of the process for a retirement visa to make it mandatory to have 33 million baht of medical insurance for retirees. As yet nothing has come of this and there has been no mention of it since though it could happen one day.
      Here are a couple of links to videos that I did last year on health insurance that may help you.

    Why not just do your 90 reporting ‘online’?
    No need to visit Immigration..

      Hi Damian. I did that two years ago and when I went to immigration to renew my retirement visa three months later they said that they hadn't received my last 90-day report and they fined me. So I prefer to go to the immigration office now. Anyway doing it online would not make a very good TH-cam video...lol

    Hey Ged, I hope all is well. Did you sort out your Aussie pension yet? Why do people try and make it hard for people to just retire and get what they have worked all their lives for.... Hope to meet up sometime in the future! Keep well.

    • @thailandmyland...retiringd2351
      @thailandmyland...retiringd2351  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Dicky. I am still in the process of sorting it out but it's not looking good at the moment. Your right we work hard all of our lives and pay our taxes like good citizens and when we retire and are entitled to our pensions they try to screw us. It seems that if you're happy to sit at home and claim the dole, a single mum with four kids to four different father's or an illegal immigrant they will pay for everything but if you're a retiree who has been paying into their retirement fund through taxes all of your life you have to beg them to give you what your entitled to...go figure.
      Look forward to meeting up with you one day.
      Cheers
      Ged
