  • I've finally uploaded the review of one of my favourite mini crawlers.
In Europe it's the FTX Outback Mini 2 Ranger, in the rest of the world it's the RGT Adventurer V2. (Surprising that Hobbyplus didn't pick this up in the States to replace the CR-24)
We've had this car for about 5 months now and there have still been no breakages but the speed control doesn't quite seem so smooth (that might just be in my head).
It's a really great little truck to drive and I'd certainly recommend one either as an entry to 1:24 crawling or as an addition to a fleet as it offers something a little different to an Axial. I think it just needs a little bit of low down weight but isn't that usually the case?
Let me know what you think of the tests and any ideas you might have for future tests and comparisons. There will be some direct comparisons with other trucks in the future.

If you want to get hold of one of these trucks, I'd recommend the following:
FTX Outback Mini 3 Ranger / RGT Explorer V2

Great video 👍🏻 think I’m going to get one of these, my only concern is the LiPo battery as I’ve never used one before and heard they can be dangerous, is that something I should be worried about ? Could I run this with a non LiPo battery in it ?

      Thanks.
They're a great little truck and you can pick them up for a great price.
But.. I'd have a quick look if you can see an Axial SCX24 on offer. They do perform a bit better but it probably depends which you like the look of the most. The key thing to remember is that any truck is as much fun as another if you drive the right routes for it.
I've never had any trouble with Lipos. I charge and store in a lipo bag but these are so small that they're unlikely to cause too much issue even if they did catch fire (I've never heard of one of these small lipos doing this).
I think you'd struggle to find non-lipo batteries that are small enough to provide the bang for your buck.

How long roughly would you say the battery lasts? Thanks for the video

You know, I've never actually run a full battery. I guess it's just the nature of these tiny trucks that you don't drive them for too long or too hard. You'll certainly get to play for over an hour. I think constant running time is supposed to be about 45 mins but just be aware that there is no low voltage cut off on this truck, so you don't really want to drive to flat. Extra batteries are really cheap, so I'd say get one and know that you'll always be ok!
