Great video m8. I just brought myself a dji mini pro 4 and so far I'm loving it. It's the 1st remote anything I have ever had except tv & video of course, and am thrilled it come back with no problems at all. This little drone is just great for getting shots no one else can get. But also I am 60 years old now with 1 triple bypass under my belt. On my 1st flight I thought I was gonna have another heart attack the old ticker was beating so fast. But it turned out ok in the end. Love what you do, keep it up & Ill c you in the next 1🇳🇿🏴☠️

Rick, I'm trying to find a reference for laser sensors on the Mini 4 Pro that you mention in the video. Best I can find in the DJI manuals that they are the same 3D infrared sensors that have been on DJI drones since the Mavic 2 Pro, the Mini 2 and newer.
Is the mini 4 pro compatible with the white googles from years ago?
I have a Mavic Mini and it's robustness is incredible having sustained many crashes trees, walls, pavement and even the operator only scuffs and props damaged really amazing sometimes the camera moves around like a disorientated boxer just a reset and off again.
Any news of the release date for the DJI Mini 5 Pro ?

After all of the hype of buying a FlyMore package, doesn't it give you a power supply to plug into the charging hub? It's like stopping just short of what should have been included. Do the mini 3 and 4 have the pan and 180 picture taking features? In all of the MANY drone videos I've watched, only ONE reviewer pointed out this great picture taking feature that the mini 2 SE gives you.

Hello I was wondering if you knew if the mini 4 pro plus (extended capacity)battery is exactly the same battery as the mini 3 pro plus (extended capacity )battery ?I can’t find any info. outlining the specs.Thank you for identifying the difference in the standard 249g battery of the Mini 4 Pro and Mini 3 Pro drones.
Hey Rick, great video. Question, I am a home inspector and intend on purchasing this drone to get to the high exterior places (under roof eves, high windows, roofs). With the omnidirectional, will it allow me to get close enough to get a good video or photo...within a foot or two?

Test the 360 avoidance, on small tree branches, at the edge of the tree, during fall and winter, when there are no leaves on the tree for it to detect.

I wanted to watch this but your over enthusiasm leads me to believe in a very biased opinion. I like DJI products but not your approach. It’s nauseating.
Thanks for the post but all of my reviews are honest and the excitement is something I would never fake. I really love technology and especially advanced gear like the drones is constantly releasing. And to be fair, every review is biased since it reflects the reviewers opinion of the product. I do the best I can with these and hope you’ll stop back soon for more.

Rick … are there attachment points/screw holes on each side of the controller? Limited mobility on one hand means a neck strap connected to the controller helps steady the controller for use with the other hand. Do enjoy your posts by the way! A BIG fan!
There's two on the bottom and two on the back
It only takes one crash to ruin the drone, the 360 obstical avoidance makes this drone worth getting over all others. You could fly crash free for years, and then one day clip the edge of a tree branch, and never fly with that drone agian.
Mike, No technology is perfect and I'm sure you could crash the drone if you really tried but the Obstacle avoidance coupled with APAS is astounding good on this drone. I did a test of the APAS on the Mini 3 Pro and could not hit a tree with the drone. it can detect even small branches and navigate around them. Remember that the pilot is always the best obstacle avoidance in the air and the 360 detection with APAS is the backup.

As far as the bigger battery busting the limit, check the weight. I've seen two so far, 252g and 253g, so you only need to shave off 5g and keep it legally under 250g.

Currently, I use my DJI Mini 2, with an iPad... and I made my own "custom sun shade" from a cardboard box and hot glue gun... exterior covered neatly in Blue Painters Tape. I can see the iPad very clearly even in bright sunlight, as the 13" deep box, is slightly tapered inward. Now I'm considering the DJI Mini 4 Pro... small built in controller screen or /iPad with box ?? Cheers
I know exactly what you mean when you said you can't fly it because of the hurricane. It's the same exact thing when we're having some kind of space show, or eclipse. We always seem to get bad weather on those exact days.
So yeah, the good Mini 4. I think it's great for DJI to continue pushing out new equipment every six months or year because it puts the others on standby.
I don't see much of a difference between the Mini 3 and 4. How ever, I do like that battery compatibility with the other mini's.

No combo offered with the RC-N2. 🤨 I really wanted that option because I still like to fly with my iPad and not the RC2. Any idea if someone else has a similar combo with the RC-N2?

@@Dronevalley There is no fly more combo with the RC-N2 that I could find.
@@pixelsimage No, the only combo that comes with the RC-N2 is the basic kit and you'll have to add batteries to it. What's even stranger if that you can't purchase the RC-N2 as a standalone accessory so the only way to get it is to buy the kit.
I enjoy your excitement. I really can't justify the spending for this drone if you have a mini 3 pro. I have the air 3 and the occu sync is amazing. But for a mini drone it's really unnecessary. Also, you'd think dji could make snap on props instead of screw on props for the mini drones.
Nice unboxing Rick. I have the M3P with the RC, and boy do I want that M4P with the O4. For sure would consider getting it in the future when they come out with the Mini5 Pro.

Thanks for the post and it's unfortunate for all of us that both Russia and Ukraine are using DJI gear (and others) to wage war. Unfortunately, these are commercially available tech and there's very little they can do to block the sale for this type of use. Just like the Skylink network that is guiding the missiles or the iPhones they are using to call in positions, there are always going to be overlap with tech.
A couple weeks ago my DJI Mavic 2 Zoom Smart Controller came in. I had to pay a little extra for it as they are out of production. I was getting tired of trying to use my iPad mini. The screen wasn't bright enough.
The UPS guy walked up my driveway and had me sign his hand held computer.
I opened up the bubble wrap envelope and there it was ! I said I am not going to get giddy... that lasted about 2 seconds. I opened up the box and there it was. The first one I have ever seen in person. I charged it up and paired it to my Mavic 2 zoom. I was surprised that most of all the settings from my old original controller had migrated over to the new Smart Controller.
I wish the weather was better here in Houston. I went out the next day and flew it around the yard for about an hour. The low temp at that night here was 84 deg 😞 The high temp yesterday, Sunday was 105 with a heat index of 115.
I know one day we will get cooler weather and I have a list of things to fly around and take pictures.
That's great and the Smart Controller is impressive and makes flying so much easier. I felt the same way when I converted and just love that I only have to charge one thing plus the drone to get out the door. I also still love (and fly) the Mavic 2 Zoom and think it was a pivot point for DJI in design.

Does it have the 120m height limit in the USA?
Yep, the 400' limit was set by the FAA not DJI. You can fly higher than that with the drone but risk violating the rule and possibly hitting a plane that stays above the 500' elevation.
Happy to know it can fly higher, I watched a video that said the mini 4 pro was fixed at 120m, which is a deal breaker. The terrain around here varies by 1000's of feet. FAA 400ft limit is above ground or structure and should not be based by DJI on the Home point.

Sticking with my M3P, next stop Mavic 3 Classic
The Mavic 3 platform is a near-perfect drone and the one to reach for if you're doing any commercial work. The New Mini 4 Pro is designed to be a lot more portable and ideal for taking on a trip to capture some amazing content. Both great drones but designed for different missions.
Could you try the camera lens filter if they work on the Mini 3 Pro and Mini 4 Pro
Pro 3 filters don't work on the 4...DJI designed the gimbal housing differently on the 4...

Not buying it. I'm not buying anything that looks like a flying frog. I don't care how good the technology is. I just bought the Air 3. Now that's a real drone. Hahaha
I agree that it looks like a frog a little but it's such an amazing piece of technology that I can overlook the design. Besides, those big "eyes" on the front are watching for obstacles to keep you safe. I agree that the Air 3 is also amazing and the Mini 4 Pro is like the Air 3 in a smaller form factor.
I just got mine, but that is really hilarious to me because I didn't' realize it looked like a frog/toad until you posted that...😆
Thanks for the update Rick. I finally bought what I thought was a Mini 3 Pro; however, due to some really slick wording by an eBay seller, I ended up getting a Mini 3. Shame on me. Anyway, now I have to decide to get an aircraft only Mini 3 Pro or this new Mini 4. I will be watching prices and your videos on the Mini 4.
Sorry to hear about the "bait & switch" with eBay but the good news it that the Mini 3 is a great drone and will provide about 80% of the same experience as the new Mini 4 Pro. I would stick with the Mini 3 for now unless you need the 4K video, obstacle avoidance and other upgrades the drone provides. If you're new to the hobby, fly the Mini 3 for now and maybe upgrade to the Mini 5 in a year or so when that one releases.
Does the charging hub charge a battery like the air 3 hub when a battery needs to be charge to full from the other batteries and do you need a 65 watt charger to charge the batteries.
Great video Rick. Just ordered my mini 4 pro, so my mini 3 pro will be going up for sale. Question, since the camera is basically the same other than the internals, like the plus batteries, it would be nice to know if the nd filters for the mini 3 series are compatible with the mini 4 pro camera
They are not unfortunately but the batteries are
No they’re not, the batteries are but take the weight over 250g as the Mini 4 Pro batteries are larger amps but weigh less than the Mini 3 Pro batteries.
phantom 1 has way more technology and is more fun to fly
Thanks for the post and I own (and fly) all of the Phantoms and loved them. They are great but at this point, 4 year old technology. The Mini 4 Pro represents a new generation of drone that is smaller, smarter and includes a ton of AI to help you get the perfect shot. I'm a fan of pilots flying what they like best but it's not really a fair comparison with the new Mini 4 Pro.

I think it should be mentioned that this drone, as well as the AIR 3, do not come with a charger, the part that connects to the outlet. Many posts on forums of people frustrated with not having the appropriate charger when they get the drone or not having one at all. I appreciate DJI bundling the fly more combo with he drone, but it seems the fly more combo is getting less and less items (charger & ND filters.) Please mention this so people are aware and even recommend a suitable charger....
Interesting how it took off and seemed to slip sideways about a metre to the left of the home point, when you let it hover.
That didn't seem to affect the precision landing which makes me wonder about the need to let it sit there above the target for a while.
I am waiting for your obstacle avoidance test between mini 3 Pro and mini 4 pro. I'm not sure if the mini 4 pro detects obstacles in the front and back as good as the mini 3 Pro does. The reason is that the new cameras have now fish eye lenses to see 360° and because of that, they see not as far (18 vs. 25m) and not as many details (thin branches?) as the old ones in the front and back. I think, drones really should have extra cameras on the side or real higher resolution cameras for perfect 360° obstacle avoidance
