    I love that you don't wear makeup. It's cool to watch a skin focused channel where the person behind it really exudes skin confidence. I have no clue why you don't wear makeup but as a woman in my late 30s, I only discovered the awesomeness of great skin + almost no makeup over the last 5 years. It's very freeing.

      I don't wear make-up either. I have a face full of freckles (as a child, I got sun protection for sure, but I still got 'em). I feel covering that up with foundation or a BB cream just gets rid of most of them and I look bizarre without them. I like the natural look. Besides, I am extremely dry so I just slap on my moisturizer and hyaluronic acid, and call it a day.

      @Sara Salinas maybe because people like you are overly defensive about it even though you're calling it "art". Your lipstick and eyeliner may be art, not your foundation and concealer.

      Ever since I got in to my 30's now I'm 35 I have a minimalist approach to makeup and I believe is the best looks I have ever had. And most of my days is bare skin with a lot of moisturizers and layers of SFP...

    Thank ewe SO much for this video. I've been slowly testing the waters of Asian skin care and BINGO first one I tried, and absolutely love, is the Hado Labo skin plumping gel. At age 74, skin care products have to really be extraordinary for me to see results and that product makes a noticeable difference. A poster on another video gave me a fantastic tip when using the gel which is to leave my skin VERY damp, not dripping but damp and to massage the gel into damp skin. That made a noticeable difference in the plumping effect.

    The Hado Labo Gel Cream had urea and squalane in it which the Neutrogena products dont. That may count for the better moisturization with the Hado Labo. Squalane is amazing for any dry patches or issues.
    I cant claim to be a minimalist but I find double cleansing just too much trouble. Even when I wear a full face of makeup, I find the Neutrogena Creamy Cleaner or the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser remove all the makeup. The trick is to apply the cleanser to a dry face, massage around with fingers and then add water. If I have waterproof mascara I sometimes use a tiny bit of cheap coconut oil to remove the mascara.
    Love the videos and am looking forward to more sunscreen options. Cheers!

    • @DrDrayzday
      @DrDrayzday  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Hi Dr Dray. Innisfree is another huge korean brand here in Asia and was hoping you can review some of their stuff and talk about their ingredients etc... They claim 80% of natural ingredients but it's nice to know if some of those natural ingredients are safe and actually effective. Oh and if they are fragrance-free! Just a request, in case you're looking for a vlog idea. Thanks.

      Tonya Howe my nieces love Lush. They always want to go there on their birthday shopping trips with me. I don’t have any allergies to fragrance, but I swear, I get itchy just walking thru that store. The girls think it’s so great that they will give you a free sample of anything....and I thought so too, until I realized that the free samples were taken out of the open testers - they are giving you a free sample that everyone in the mall that day has dipped their dirty fingers into. Ugh.

    A benefit to the Hada Labo HA lotion is you can put two drops on the palm of your hand and rub them together and then gently pat it on top of your makeup through out the day. This is especially helpful in winter when we are using heating systems in our homes.
    The Shishedo cotton puffs are amazing too. You can by them on Amazon and at Ulta.

    I began using korean skin care products about 2 months ago and love how plumped up and moisturized my skin is! I feel any of these products are cumulative. I do a 5 step a.m and p.m process, oil cleanser, foam cleanser, moisturizing toner, serum ampoule and moisturizer. One of my toners I pat on with cotton squares, they're just easier. I also adore masks, especially Blossom Jeju sheet masks. Tony Moly has some good masks. My preference is the "hydrogel" masks as they hug my face. Snail masks are tha bomb! SO hydrating! I pat in the remaining moisture after I take off my mask and if there's any left in the packet, I pat that on too. My skin loves them! You might want to try one or two of them? LOVE!!!! ❤️

    Great review! Hada Labo's HA products didn't work for me but I love their cleansing foam and I may try the oil cleanser someday. It's a little pricey but an oil cleanser you may like is DHC. It emulsifies great and has minimal added stuff in it (I don't detect a fragrance except for the scent of olive oil) plus it feels lovely on the skin. Have a great night!

      I’ve been using DHC cleansing oil for the past 10-15 years and love it. I received a sample of it all those years ago, and was too afraid to use it because of my oily skin. Once I used it, I haven’t looked back. Takes all the makeup off and I don’t need any other makeup remover for my eyes. I just got my latest catalog from them- I think they’re embracing the Asian skin care craze cause the catalog has gone totally Japanese, complete with a little cartoon character Geisha girl as your “guide”.

    I use the Cosrx snail mucin, it's simple packaging and you need to use a few pumps for each use. I like it, and feels good on the face. 🍧

    I've been using the Mizon All-in-One Snail Repair Cream for 4-5 months now in the hopes it would help with acne. At least, that's what the hype surrounding the product said it would do (healing scars, fading pigmentation, reducing "signs of aging"). I haven't noticed any reduction in acne lesions or wound healing of acne cysts in myself, but my skin seems well hydrated and a little bit brighter. However, I went on vacation for a week and didn't use the cream and I noticed an increase in acne cysts and redness--which could be a coincidence! Regardless, I'm still using up my jar, in the hopes it will have some other benefit! One other snail brand I've liked and tolerated well is the Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Hydro Gel Mask. They also have a hydro gel cream which might be similar to the Neutrogena one. Both are available at Target. If you try them, please do vlog about them! I continue to be intrigued by the antimelanogenic/antitumoral effects of snail secretion as well--did you read Elijimi et al? www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29635896

    This was great. I have a salicylate intolerance, so I am not able to try many different skin care items, due to the preservatives and fillers that they contain. But, it's fun to watch you try different things. As an update, I love using the differin and benzoyl peroxide together at night. What a difference! Thank you!

    Do you enjoy the habo labo skin plumping cream gel or the habo labo hyaluronic acid cream gel? Or which of the two do you recommend for use on combo skin with closed comedones? I need to reorder my Neutrogena hydro boost but seen as you like these better I'd like to try one for use under my moisturizer at night and tinted moisturizer for day. Love your channel. You must have a photographic memory because you are like an open text book girl!

I don't either- just mascara and a little eyeshadow. Have a good week.💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻

    Hi Dr.Gray I'm Indonesian and the definition of beauty for Asian are whiter skin which are for more skin product they use word Whitening or Brightening are the most desirable market, so anything with that word I always avoid, but the skin care with word plumping, HA I'm on it, very informative, thank you

    Hi, I actually make my own cleansing oil, and put it in small, travel size bottles, so I use it up before it "turns." I mix 1/3 castor oil, 1/3 jojoba oil, and 1/3 either olive oil or sweet almond oil. I store the oils in the refrigerator so they will last longer. They work great at getting off mascara easily.

    • @DrDrayzday
      @DrDrayzday  7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I do almost exactly the same! Castor oil, sweet almond and jojoba oil. It takes a full face of makeup (including mascara) off beautifully. Then I follow up with a gentle cleanse.

    • @kathkwilts
      @kathkwilts 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I am familiar with using these oils. If you add a few drops of good quality vitamin E oil (with trocopherols), it will protect the almond oil from rancidity for quite a long while. The other oils are not prone to spoilage. It is not necessary to refrigerate these oils... Avocado oil and rice bran oil are other really good oils to try that bring their own vitamin E to the party...
      You might consider adding some rosehip seed oil, carrot seed oil, pumpkin seed oil or raspberry seed oil... they will add some high GLA nutrients but they will need refrigeration if stored for more than a few weeks...

    You continue to be a wealth of information since subscribing to your channel. I am always pursuing new skincare products and most recently was hoping to get an honest review on Korean skincare. And you did not fail me! I am going to pass on the Mizon Snail Repair Cream and go with the Hada Labo Skin Plumping Gel Cream based on your review. Thank you so much - from one introvert to another 🙂

    Dr. Dray, I recently moved to Okinawa Japan and hada labo was recommended to me. I normally use cerave products based off of your reviews and love them. But my skin has changed since moving here a month ago. Would you recommend making the switch to Hada Labo products?

    Love the HADA LABO cleansing oil for make up removal and night time cleaning. I also discovered HADA LABO cleansing oil to be the best makeup brush cleanser I have ever used. Thoroughly and gently cleans brushes, leaving bristles soft and supple with no residue.
