    this is true, real hot rodding. this is how they did it back in the day when there was no speed shops, there wasn't millions of parts out there at your disposal. they made it, they tested it, they used it, in their garage at home. and maybe some newer parts, but this is grassroots shit, and I'm all for it. excellent job my friend.💯💯💯

    A Friend in Ohio owned a machine shop in the 80’s and he did this with 2, 351 Cleveland heads, custom ground cam,made a 4 bbl intake and slapped a Holley on it and ran 9’s in a dragster, what a cool sound!

    I have seen where people have done this with 351 Cleveland heads. but I believe this is the first time I have heard of an LS head conversion on the 300c.i. six. being as the 300c.i. 4.9 L six is a massive torque monster. I have always thought about doing something like this with FE heads. either 360c.i. or 390c.i. GT heads because those engines are also known for being massive torque monsters. and because they have larger valves and ports. there should be a significant improvement in HP numbers. and have one hell of a lot of torque. although a person would have to use running gear strong enough to handle all that torque. I swear by the 300c.i. 4.9L Ford six cylinder engine. I have owned two of them and I still currently have one. in a 1981 F250 4x4 with a four speed. that I have upgraded with an Offenhouser four barrel intake with a 600 CFM Holley economaster. and a header an some porting on the head mostly port matching. and a 240 duration camshaft. it's a pretty bullet proof truck. it's no wonder why the 300c.i. 4.9L is the best six cylinder engine ever produced.

      @@orlandomoreno5326 Believe me, I want this guy to succeed. He is doing something that I have only dreamed about for years, I simply lack the skills to try.

    Thank you for sharing. Please keep updating. So little out there on vids for the 300.. it's crazy, the mods you get into just by changing one part. I wish someone would just aftermarket na good head for us.

    Bad Ass. All the way! Thank you for making a video about GENUINE HOT RODDING!! Not buying 10k worth of shit from jeggs and/or some other speed shop then paying someone else to tune it. Kudos my friend, I'll be subscribing and following this build

    It will be a test on your welding skills once the boost comes on. Good luck with your project. The Ford 300 is one of my favorites.

    I’ve been around stupid fast shit since I was a kid back in the 90’s (I was born in 1990) and have had 3 1000+whp cars So I don’t get excited about much these days but I’ve been researching and brainstorming about old straight 6’s the Chevy 250’s,292’s and ford 300’s ever since I seen 1320’s vid in Brazil where they are going STUPID fast with stock block and head Chevy 6’s and goin 4.40-4.50s in the 1/8 and mid to high 6’s in the 1/4 it’s crazy! I really don’t want to make a ton of power maybe in the 550-600hp in my old 77 nova and just slay tires and cruise! But LS stuff is really all I mess with and know a little bit about so this combo is right up my alley!! If I was you I would go ahead and pick up a Holley Terminator yesterday that stock Gm ecu and hp tuners is for the damn birds I wish I would have bit that bullet way before I actually swapped over to Holley efi in the beginning of 2019, it’s definitely worth it!

      I like using the stock ecms when I can. All my vehicles have p01 ecms so I’m pretty familiar with what works on them

    That’s really cool. I guess the bore centers and head bolt patterns match perfectly? Amazing that all of the coolant passages between head and block are close enough.

    • @Pistonranch
      @Pistonranch  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They aren’t perfect but they are close. I had to weld a lot of coolant passages shut on the head to make the head gasket work
