I remember the town I lived in the 60's. Basicly like yours. What a change 40 years later. 😊

Hi Phillip, I always enjoy visiting some of the small towns to see how they've changed. Some for the good and some not so good. Have a good day!

I love these small towns, so many memories, growing up my family would take a vacation every summer and we stayed in plenty of these mom and pop motels as well as motor lodges... The interstate systems are both a good and bad thing, it's must easier to travel across the country now but it took the culture of America away as well as kill thousands of small towns by bypassing them......
I'm a little older than you Randy, I graduated in 1976 with about 150 other classmates.....
Thanks again for bringing us along for the ride

Hey, Randy, you're around my old stompin' grounds! Lived in Prescott but spent time in Ash fork and Seligman. We bought TONS of flagstone from there and built walks, patios and even floors in houses. Knew a family who were sheep ranchers at Williams.
Thanks for the visit, its been 20+ years since ive been up there.
Oh, BTW, the Grand Canyon Caverns on old 66 is a great place to visit also. Awesome!
    Cheers.

Hi Craig, Even though my time in Ashfork was short, it had a impact. Thank you for letting me know about the Grand Canyon Caverns. I'll check it out. Have a great week!

Hi Dan, I always hope that someone will spend the money to restore history like that. Hopefully Ashfork will work on the route 66 theme like Seligman has. Have a great week!

There is a movie called Universal Soldier, This classic 1992 action/sci-fi movie was directed by Roland Emmerich, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme as Luc Deveraux, and you might recognize some Ashfork spots in the movie. Interesting fact if you own land or real estate in Ashfork you can get a plot in the cemetery for free. Serpent handling churches have been banned in many parts of the U.S. but a large congregation still practices the faith in Ashfork and fear persecution they must worship in secret, like it's North Korea it really bothers me, because freedom of religion and being able to worship Jesus anyway you want to, was one of the reasons we started the country, that and helping and providing perpetual care for the Indians, providing the highly successful humanitarian Agricultual career cotton industry outreach to Africa before the Yankees ruined it. and a bunch of stuff.

Hi Karen, at the end of the video is where I show it. It was a couple miles out of town and had a restaurant that only partially standing and some old motel rooms. Have a great week and see ya on the next one.

So your family went from Quartzsite to Ash Fork . . . Must have had something to do with Ted's Truck Stops?

Hi Andy, My dad worked for Ramsey Towing, I can't remember if the property with the cafe was Ted's or not, that does ring a bell though. Have a great week!

@SeabeeTraveler There was a Ted's in both Quartzsite and in Ash Fork where the new truck stop is. I have been in heavy towing in Arizona myself since 1984, likley met your Dad.
