Anna''s seemed powerful, the leader, I got the meaning of going into a dramatic battle out of her painting, and actually sat up more in my chair, it woke me up, too bad she was chosen to be the worst, I didn't think it was, but the judges choose what they like I think. Bri's painting was of a woman all by herself with gold shooting out of her hands forward and back, did not get anything from it, it did not make me feel she was leading people into battle. The dark one was ok, but it did not seem as good. But, these are just my opinions, everyone tried their best to their talent
It's so refreshing hearing the judge guy asking how the artists feel about their piece, and telling them to use their personal style, use time wisely, asking 'is there something I can help you with' - rather than telling them to change their whole perspective like the judges have been doing so far in the competition. This is the sort of critique that is helpful while still being respectful to the artists. Up to now it's been 'change this colour / move this / make this corner the focal point / make the paint thicker'. Love the artists being allowed to be themselves finally!
His name is John Milan, the owner of The Milan Institute. I've had the pleasure of meeting him a few weeks ago at the Milan Art Gallery in Florida. Very kind and generous man.
I understand why they picked Jessi to win this one, but I didn't expect Anna to be at the bottom. I really liked her painting. It felt powerful and had a strong feeling of leadership. My favourite was Katrina's, although I find her style really appealing so she's often in the top for me. I usually love Bri's paintings too and how she approaches them. I'm glad she's still in the competition, but I don't think she showed the theme as well as the others. Tanya did really well painting in all the figures. I just wasn't as keen on the colours and darker tonal values. To be fair they're all amazing artists. It's not an easy choice to make.
I am devastated 😢I signed up for the Milan art program after finding Anna on TikTok. I just knew she would be in the final round. I am heartbroken for her. She’s an amazing artist and has help me start my journey and believe in myself. She is inspiring so many people! I’m team Anna. I love the other artists as well ❤ but I feel Anna should still be in the competition 😢
❤me too! I am enjoying this series so much and just love what the artists are learning about themselves each episode. Watching what they come up with and their approach during each challenge is fascinating. I just looked Anna up and (what?!!!!?) we live in the same town! 💚💚💚
What ,Bri stays in when she only painted one person in the boat ???Anna did way better, this got to be fixed ,so disgusting on the judges part.Anna meet the challenge, Bri did not.
I said the same thing! I think there is some bias there. Bri was their intern😅. Tanya's wasn't very good either. The people were so muddy looking, but at least she & Anna met the challenge
What I have truly come to love and appreciate about this artistic competition, is all of the female empowerment surrounding it! I love that they created a sisterhood of support through each challenge. Everyone of them are SPECTACULAR artists, and I loved all of Anna's creations throughout the competition...the remaining 4 will certainly be serious competition for each other! Can't wait to see who walks...or dances away, as this seasons Outstanding Artist.
Isn’t it nice to see strong but vulnerable, open women who are supportive of each other & aren’t backstabbing & 🤬? Who are also really interesting & great artists.
The leader concept was lost in one. The rawness in the blocked-in faces portrayed unusual interest. The winner's modern psychedelic approach was absolutely smashing! And, to the one that lost...I could feel the leadership theme the absolute most. Everyone has their own perspective.
Katrina you paint with your soul. Waaaauuu such amazing paintings every time. Had i not been an artist myself, i would surely had bought some of your paintings. I also really like Anna´s and Bri´s. Really surprised that Anna had to go.
Anna, you should be proud! This was your best work, and "the best work" in this episode. You were the only one who spoke with empathy about the subject and not about themselves! This empathy and subsequent power of bouboulina came out in your painting. Great powerful work displaying light and determination for victory. I understand the decision not to put features on the other boat people. I, too, have deliberately made this choice as a strength as features can distract from a sense or feeling. Obviously, Brie was only interested in portraying herself dancing to victory!
I get the biggest smiles & chuckles with Tonya, her comments always are sweet, refreshing and endearing… I was also a bit confused by this outcome. It would be hard to make that selection! Congrats to Jessi! Her painting is really eclectic, fresh, and detailed!
Beautiful paintings and great artists! Too bad Anna, I didn't expect for you to have to leave; really loved your painting and the meaning/message in it. You're also a fabulous artist! But "you'll be back!" in the redemption !
Even though this style of art isn’t my cup of tea, I enjoy their talents and how difficult judging their art must be . These artists must be inspiring so many .
I loved her explanation of not defining the crew of the boat . . .the emphasis was on the woman. There needs to be an outside group - that doesn't know who painted what - and have the paintings judged
Oh! I adored Anna's piece. Her color palette, the perfect balance of warm and cool...how she managed to make her painting both serious AND whimsical, the composition....What a lovely piece of work. I'm unclear on what was considered "lesser than" some of the other paintings, and maybe have to look again. Part of why I watch this show is for art education, and the choice to eliminate her based on this challenge was puzzling.
Anna is such an incredible artist and amazing woman🩷🩷 this episode was hard to watch💔😢 (if you are wondering YES i still wanna throw this painting in the ocean🤣🤣🤣🩷lol!) Thanks for all you guys comments! Im glad that so many people enjoy the show🔥
Loved Jessi's and Katrina’s the most. Katrina continues to blow me away, week after week! I simply LOVE her work. xo I've been a fan ever since I saw her work back in June 2021 on the Milan student artist's page. xo
Something just doesn’t gel with this competition. Its almost like all except one judge already know how they want it to end. One needs to listen to remarks carefully to read between lines- and i believe as respect to the artist who is being eliminated, the whole “ time for you to go, hand in your overalls” should be skipped. Elimination is announced once so “ why hang someone twice”?
Once again, my favourite was Katrina - so beautiful, so powerful, so much movement and mood. But I also did not believe Anna should have gone. I loved her painting too. Her interpretation of the original painting is that the leader was detailed but the others were impressionistic - that was her interpretation, as she was asked to do. And it definitely demonstrated leadership.
25:24 Wow 😮 Katrina’s!!! That looks amazing. Definitely fits the brief & executed in such a vibrant, dynamic way. Love Bri’s too - although I wonder what the judges will say about the single figure 🤔 Actually I was a bit sceptical about this challenge, as recreating a painting in your style is tough but they did an amazing job
I didn’t even listen to the midway critiques. Skipped right thru them. 😂 they always just irritate me. Let them paint! Don’t guide them to what YOU want to see! And they have 3 minutes and this guys talking thru every minute of it 😂 geez
So we all know Tanya she have went home with Bri in the bottom two 🤦♂️ What is happening? Jessi keeps giving us the same painting over and over again however she wasn’t the worse. Katrina should have won! This is crazy
What a waste of location. I’d love to be out of the competition at this point. I’d paint the area. Forget their assignments. They’re in a fabulous place. I’d paint memories
Although disappointed, there could be any number of reasons for the delay...both with the next episode and a response. It's not the end of the world.@@lisafinnegan7905
I’ll admit I was surprised by this one. I suppose the unfinished faces could’ve been seen as messy and it was a more simplistic background in comparison to some. However I feel that one stood out as unfinished and kind of thrown together, as if they didn’t have a game plan going into it. I am intrigued to see how they do the redemption round 👀 I really enjoy this show!
personally I think anna should have stayed and tanya should have left. like in previous eliminations, one painting has gotten people out.. so not sure how this is any different
Like a lot of you, I don’t necessarily agree with this choice, but I’m sure there’s a lot more to judging a long term art competition than this single piece. Truly, it must be so difficult. So let’s not judge them and just realize that they probably know more than we do. Art is meant to bring people together. ❤
I'm really shocked that they eliminated Anna, and to say her people were unfinished? Having no detail on the other people makes Bouboulina the focal point. I thought this challenge was about the artist's own interpretation ... why then are the judges deciding what should and shouldn't be in the painting? Double standards through and through.
Woah. Barbie-boy is dismissing women now when he's finished talking to them? Tanya, your painting was the best this time, from the perspective of academic art rather than commercial. (And yes, I do have an informed opinion).
I don't agree either, I preferred Anna's to Tanya's who painted the dark boat, it was so flat. I like Bri's but one figure is a cop out and the boat too small. Disappointing. Xxx
I would like to see the other artists paintings as well - the ones that were already eliminated. I just do not feel that this competition is completely fair. They should hang the paintings in an art gallery and let the public decide . . . which one - in each category - would I want if given to me. That would make it much fairer as I am sadly seeing favoritism. And why did the MC comment: Some paitings are looking real good. Hell! They were all looking real good! That felt like a slam. Where is the encouragement. He annoys me at times.
I don’t understand why Anna went home. She had a gorgeous painting and chose not to put in the faces on purpose, not because she was lazy. Brie didn’t even have any other people in her boat and even though I love Tanya’s style normally, even she thought she did the worst in this round. So confusing. I just don’t appreciate that man’s critiques, seems like he’s not that experience and is a one-trick pony (more paint!) I wouldn’t listen to him 😂 bless him
This episode was not fear and based on real results. Bri got a chance but her peace was super weak this time. Also there was another very weak painting.
How does one person in a boat represent the power of a woman to lead all those men. She missed the brief entirely, she made the painting about herself and not about what that painted meant.
I really liked Anna's piece. The colors were great and she showed leadership more so than others.
Anna''s seemed powerful, the leader, I got the meaning of going into a dramatic battle out of her painting, and actually sat up more in my chair, it woke me up, too bad she was chosen to be the worst, I didn't think it was, but the judges choose what they like I think.
