This is earth-changing for me. My painting style was so slow, so stilted, so. . .boring? Yes, I've sold my work over the years, but not like I wanted to. You have opened my eyes to a whole new way of looking at painting. I am so excited! I painted an acrylic portrait with Dimitra (she did Twiggy and I chose the first face to paint) and I sold it two days after I painted it--for way more than I ever sold a single painting before! The exciting thing was , mine looked nothing like the original photo when I finished. It was new and loose and exciting! That never happened to me before! I can't wait to keep discovering. Thank you so much!
I would love to see a watercolor program like this. I was impressed by several concepts in this: Paint daily. Learn to paint in color blocks. You can be detailed and be fast. I learned a great deal from this.
Oh my gosh, I'm so grateful I found this video while recovering from the flu! You are speaking so much practical truth to this painter. Thank you for sharing your journey and process! I can't wait to feel better and apply what I've learned from you. Abundance Mentality for the win! Let's fill the world with beautiful art!
You have described everything I have gone through. My art journey started as a young child growing up in a situation that was not nice and art was my way to escape and cope with everyday living. Forward to today at the age of 51 I'm trying to figure out how to bring my art to a different level. This is an excellent video. Thank you very much for the free information.
Hi Elli, finally ive been able to jump back on as i had sooo much going on last year with health and babysitting ma grandaughter whose now three going on thirty-three. Thank God i was gifted with her and her sister to keep me going to be able to live out ma dream. I signed up with you early last year and even getting time to absorb your videos has be trying, but im still here and ready. I LOVE THIS VIDEO, I absolutely have no study or knowledge behind/ underneath me in art but need you - like I'm thirsty. I am very creative but need to learn sooooo much. God bless you and thank you again.💯👏👏👏🤲🙌🙏🥰🫶
I feel like thats the same case with me.. I have no formal learning and training but I have sooo many ideas in my head, just need to learn the skills to put it out in a canvas!
I feel ridiculous saying this but I've never been that girl that is star struck over music bands or movie stars but I'm telling you I am a fan girl of this woman, you are inspiring a whole generation and you have the substance to back it. The way you guys teach is giving power to broken hearted painters of the world. I'm still trying to find a way to go through the master program but I will before I die! Because I have learned soooooooo much it makes me want to cry, that I can finally express myself in a beautiful way! Thank you eternally, Jennifer
Though we have quite different styles, I appreciate seeing your truly skilled process. Where you lose me / leave me behind is when you tell of your sales success, because from where I and every one of the dozens of artists that I know personally sit, you have enjoyed a rare bit of well deserved good fortune. Others like me are working in a sort of desert and or are lost unseen amidst many many thousands of other painters. You were seen and had the opportunities and skills and drive to make it. I'm glad for you. Honestly. You have earned your success and it honors you that you want to share it with other artists. Bless your generous heart. But that doesn't change the simultaneous, shall we say, "obscurity problem" that many of your viewers will continue to struggle with. But THANKS for the interesting and inspiring lesson. Long may your many blessings continue. XO
Elli, You cannot imagine how much I appreciate this amazing video. Very inspiring and encouraging . Thanks for putting out this video. I will be watching this again and again.
You look great in your glasses and with straight hair. I only saw this interesting video last night. Thanks for your great advice about painting fast and what sells.
Wow I have learnt so much and I’m only 30 mins in 😮 Gosh I love how you explained the energy in the brush strokes. No one has ever explained it like that. Thank you so much 🙏🏻💖🙌🏻🙌🏻
thank you.... I have 5 or more paintings that could be good but I'm bored with them, the fire went out and I'm on to others. Painting faster of course is now my goal. I painted plein air one day and finished a painting in 1.5 hrs outside and about 30 minutes indoors for touchup. I like it more than most I done. I was forced to work fast before the shadows changed etc.
You have had the skill from the first painting, actually, and such a strong style also, I adore it and it opened my horizons like nothing before..thank you❤
Wow was on the edge of my seat with the story about giving your dad your first painting! Was so worried he wouldn't like it. Loving your content, thank you so much.
am extremely impressed, because since am a soft and semi- realistic painter that paints and completes every thing on the canvas. it has really been challenging for me on how to get loose and mix abstract and realism. indeed thank you so much for sharing this is soo much enlightening me. kindly help me on how to choose and generate themes. thank you
I am so glad I didn’t listen to the comment that said you didn’t show any techniques. This was packed with useful information! I very much enjoyed your demo. I thought it beautiful and inspiring… one of the best examples I’ve seen of how to paint more loosely and not get caught up in all the details. Will definitely save this to my Watch Later playlist to watch again and again.
If I may, how do you calculate that many new collectors per every new artist? From what I’ve seen modern art collectors is a dwindling number. But I’d be happy to hear your logic as to how you estimate new collectors coming into the scene, looking to collect.
Loved the story and the fragility of showing your very first painting. Oh my that story has initiated a seachange in me. I think I will be brave and paint too. Thank you.
Elli! I love your sharing and the perspective of abundance. The more I have shared in my art the more we achieve and are gifted in life. Your presentation skills are amazing I can tell you’ve been working on those. Thank you for your encouragement and gift of teaching!
There are so many things in this video that hit home that I don't even know what to quote. I wish I could like this video more than once. Thank you so much for sharing!
one of the best youtube art videos, maybe the best. i love her work. i hope in a decade(when im not poor lol ) to own a piece of her work. her stuff resonates with me. how much are her smaller artworks?
I love how you explain why you should paint faster. And to actually paint more. Treating painting like a job (40 hours a week) means you will create more, improve faster, and become more in demand. ❤❤❤
Good morning, I'm watching this channel from Philippines, I'm really appreciate your tip it's so helpful and has the motivation power thank you for this.
Thank you so much for this video! This is so helpful! I am going through a long period of stagnation precisely because I take too long to paint, and then I lose focus, direction and eventually interest in completing my paintings. Do you have any advice for going back to unfinished work with this painting approach to reinvigorate and bring it to completion?
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences Elli... This video seemed like it was aimed right at me! Just yesterday I gave up on a painting I have been working on for 2 months. I am feeling very down about it. My style is so detailed and graphic/neat so painting "loosely" and quickly feels impossible... Every time I try it ends up in the trash!😭
I can so relate lol, But… we all have to let it be, let it go… I heard a really great artist say that a painting is really never finished till you pass it on . Scary I know 😮😂❤
Thank you for making and sharing this video. Your advice as always , spot on. I love how you had simplify the steps / process. So many golden nuggets throughout the video. Would you also share what is your process and how do you create the source for this painting in your next TH-cam video? That would be smashing
I just came across your question as I was scrolling. To keep your acrylics wet look into wet pallets. This will keep your paints workable for days so you don't have any waste.
Hi dear I have a doubt: you created the sketch first? What materials did you use? Soft colored pencils? By the way I took the masterclass of Dimitra 3 hours class but couldn't see so fine because it was not possible to go full screen . I dont know if it s my fault. Could you clarify? Even didnt see well its a wonderful tecnique! Tks in advance!
love ur work and watch you at work. I recently come across ur channel. I saw u take a reference picture. I was wondering how do u get or choose the picture? do u first create a digital image or what?
Thank you! You are so right! I take forever with the block in. I struggle in making "decisions" instead of just "starting". How did you prep your reference for this painting? Did you take photos of parrots then use photoshop to create the final reference? Thanks for sharing!
Hi. Just discovered you on here. Loved watching season 2 of the artist competition. Do you have a video on how to get started as a decorative artist? Thank you for your videos and the information.
So you are doing acrylics here and you will finish with oil? I love painting, and always have, but have a LONG way to go. I only found you about a week ago, and I’m so grateful for your generous teaching on YT. I hope some day I will be able to do your Master Class.
Thank you so much. I am definitely a slow artist and was about to rethink my dream. In this financial crisis art is a luxury and I can't afford to be slow and ask higher prices. I will try your way
Love this!!! So inspirational and informative. ❤ Anyone know the name of the green paint she used in the first part where she covered the canvas with it?
Thank you for all your videos. My paintings are very tight. This has given me the push to have another go at painting much looser. It's given me a process to help me understand.

Do you draw out your own reference pictures or do you find images on line?
I want to join the mastery program but do let me know how much would it cost?

The painting your 15 year old self did is still stunning! ❤
I love your mindset. Thank you Elli and all Milans for changing my view as an artist❤Hoping I’ll soon be able to join your program🙏🇩🇰

Oh, how I love your first painting! ❤
Hearing the story that your painting made your father cry makes my heart smile. As artists we tend to underestimate the impact of our work on others.
Thank you for the great tips. I have been putting my art to one side for all the reasons you mention. I need to loosen up. You make so much sense.
Fantastic and loved the conversation at that beginning 😀
I feel ridiculous saying this but I've never been that girl that is star struck over music bands or movie stars but I'm telling you I am a fan girl of this woman, you are inspiring a whole generation and you have the substance to back it. You are so modest to say you don't have any talent. Right! Amazing skill and wisdom from volumes of art.
are you combining acrylic underneath and oil over top?
Though we have quite different styles, I appreciate seeing your truly skilled process. Ahhhh! You hit a word Elli:
“TEMPERAMENT”
Thank you Elli-when I can afford Mastery program I’ll be with you!!!
Omgoodness what a beautiful picture of yourself! Thank you for this video and wonderful tips! Big Milan family Artwork! ❤
Your painting when you were 15 it's absolutely lovely. It's actually very good.
Thanks for This class.
Another great workshop! i appreciate your generosity in sharing your knowledge.
Wow I have learnt so much and I’m only 30 mins in 😮

That's what keeps me painting - those occasions when you witness someone being deeply touched by your work
You have had the skill from the first painting, actually, and such a strong style also, I adore it and it opened my horizons like nothing before..thank you❤

This is a wonderful video! I am so glad i came across it. 😊
That first painting is very good. I can feel the emotion it’s very connected and real. I love it.
am extremely impressed, because since am a soft and semi- realistic painter that paints and completes every thing on the canvas. it has really been challenging for me on how to get loose and mix abstract and realism. indeed thank you so much for sharing this is soo much enlightening me.

Glad it was helpful! We can't wait to see the art you create!!
Exactly., the comment was negative and I don’t think watch the video throughout!! 🫶🏽
Absolutely love you. Fun to watch. Easy to listen/understand. Great results.
Best painting video I've watched in a long time! Thank you!
If I may, how do you calculate that many new collectors per every new artist? From what I’ve seen modern art collectors is a dwindling number. But I’d be happy to hear your logic as to how you estimate new collectors coming into the scene, looking to collect.
so inspiring!!! thank you for sharing your light wisdom and love!! ✨💖
Loved the story and the fragility of showing your very first painting. Oh my that story has initiated a seachange in me. I think I will be brave and paint too. Thank you.
You are so helpful to so many. I was always singled out as the artist and was only good at art. But us lot lack technique. You are a great teacher
Wonderful video! I noticed you remove your spray paint nozzles. Do you put them in water to prevent clogging g?
Elli! I love your sharing and the perspective of abundance. The more I have shared in my art the more we achieve and are gifted in life. Your presentation skills are amazing I can tell you’ve been working on those. Thank you for your encouragement and gift of teaching!

You are an amazing mentor. I definitely need to save money to take a course n speed thd process of painting.
I love how you explain why you should paint faster. And to actually paint more. Treating painting like a job (40 hours a week) means you will create more, improve faster, and become more in demand. ❤❤❤

Thanks for sharing, I think your first painting is very nice, do not diminish it :)
Thank you for making and sharing this video. Your advice as always , spot on. I love how you had simplify the steps / process. So many golden nuggets throughout the video.
Would you also share what is your process and how do you create the source for this painting in your next TH-cam video? That would be smashing
Love that spray paint color, but the splotchy little spots make it look like Home Goods art.
Thank you. Great video !
Just wanted to clarify what mediums you used. Was it water soluble oils & galkyd ?😊
Very inspirational!
I really like your "egghead" painting, it's very original and I hope you still have that painting. It's you and your dad.
❤
Are you using golden open acrylics? Just wondering about the subtraction - my acrylics dry SO fast!
I just came across your question as I was scrolling. To keep your acrylics wet look into wet pallets. This will keep your paints workable for days so you don't have any waste.
Thanks for sharing your talent
Where do you draw your inspiration from? Thk u love your work.❤

Love your painting techniques! This was acrylic right?
Thank you for this great lecture. New follower from Las Vegas NV.
I literally cried too!!! Definitely heart felt!
Thank you! You are so right! I take forever with the block in. I struggle in making "decisions" instead of just "starting". How did you prep your reference for this painting? Did you take photos of parrots then use photoshop to create the final reference? Thanks for sharing!
