- Join me as we take a look behind the scenes of auto parts and accessories to check out the Karl Kustoms hot rod full restoration shop in Des Moines, Iowa. Karl Kustoms is one of the biggest Chevrolet performance and parts dealership specializing in engines, transmissions and high performance parts for your next project build. Video features walk through guide with General Manager, Bob Massey as we see the current projects at the shop including 1969 Ford Mustang, classic Chevy Silverado, chevy patina C10 with big block motor as well as classic Corvette with 6.71 blower. I had a great time seeing and hearing the dyno and seeing the dynamometers in action with a high performance chevy big block 600 cubic inch engine. Here's a little background on Carl that he related to me. Dick Walter's had a Ford dealership in Des Moines had a 3 car drag race team. Chief among them was a 65 Falcon funny car called "Iowa Shaker" . So Carl is at the wheel at the strip and after launch he goes to shift from 1st to 2nd as he does the seat breaks loose allowing him to study the roof. Regards Chuck
