@@RickMaddren - The stock ratio was 3.91 to 1. If you put a 3.00 to 1 in it, yes, it would have a much higher top speed but a Chevy Vega would beat it in a 0-60 run! By the way, the Boss engine was not a C.J. That designation was on the standard 429 wedge engine, but not the Boss engine.
@@RickMaddren - Just found out the Boss 429s had a speed limiter as stock equip. on them! That would do it.
Why do you pronounce the 1/4 mile as "quarter mile" but 1/8 mile as "one eighth mile" ?
🤣🤣🤣
I guess none of y’all saw that Pontiac motor he showed
🤣🤣🤣
My 69!supercobra was 375 hp
More like 450 hp it’s fast
Oh yeah 🚀🚀
Good video, but seemed to low-ball the top speed of them all ... They would definetly surpass 130MPH.
Thank you for commenting,
The top speed is as advertised by the manufacturer, any additional power would probably not be factory made😉
I had one once wreck it damnit😢
It’s hard not to😆
Wow, I thought that this would be good, but too much misinformation. Oh well, those of us who know.............know!!!!!
Care to share?
@@HighHosilver Many of the comments share the misinformation. 429cj and 429 Boss are not the same. Almost none of these motors had high rise intakes and solid lifters as suggested etc.
The narrator of this video is a JOKE! He (AI?) has no clue what is being described. Don't be so cheap! Hire someone who knows what is being talked about!
Non is done by AI on this channel
So the Scary Fastest Stock MuscleCar ever rode in waz Ol' Guy down the road .... 69 or 70?? Ford Torino Super CobraJet car 428?? 4-speed , 3.91 gear ,
Turd Yellow ...... It waz So strange 2 help Him get the Car outta the Barn every Spring .... clean the Dust N Pizza boxes off it , air up the tirez ...... then jus Absolutely Rippp ....
He waz Very Proud it waz A 'Super' , all original , like 30000ish miles onnit'
Car waz Fast .... 👍
That’s amazing thank you for sharing 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
way wrong on top speeds too ,this isn 't correct i rode in most these cars ...i guess they don't know about a super cobra jet either
Eeeeh, the Torino Cobra had a 429? Looks like this one's actually an F.E. series motor.
🤣🤣🤣
@@HighHosilver @Ronald is incorrect. However, the 1969 Mach 1 pictures a 302/351 based motor, not an FE. A 68/69 Torino doing a burnout during the 70 Torino. Multiple inaccuracies get a thumbs down from me.
That Thunderbolt is kind of an ugly sucker... Never heard of that one before. Thanks for the vid.
Never heard of it.... it won the 1964 NHRA Super Stock Championship.
@@markdellacqua1038 I like those old muscle cars but never made a study of um. I hate to admit it but I don’t know jack about that race either… just before my time I guess.
@joechughtai3155 - Sorry Bro, but if you have never heard of the iconic Ford Thunderbolt, you probably shouldn't be commenting on it...for any reason. It was a true MOPAR Hemi eater!
@@Loulovesspeed Kind of a snobby attitude....
@@joechughtai3155 - As Chevy Chase would say, "Thank you very little."
It's funny my 2008 MazdaSpeed3 was as quick to 60 as the Boss 429
They are telling you that's what it was back in the day do your history
@@donniewhite4892 I understand that. You're missing my point...I'm out
My rabbit diesel has tbe advantage over the 429 on the 0-60 ,and the 1/8mi but hes got me in the 1/4 by a half a second or so.
It must finally wake up after the 1/8th because thats a good gain.
Same cars with modern tires and a few mods (suspension, etc) would considerably enhance these numbers... Consumer tires were not much back in the day...
hello
Do your homework. So much of your information is wrong. Give it up dude. Find another topic as you are obvouusly not an expert here...
All the camaros, challengers, chargers and corvettes think their fast until the 2020 ford shelby GT500 walks away from them.
NO WAY
High Ho is high alright , im not sure why he even did this video as most of it is wrong. Solid lifters in cars that didnt have solid cams , times all over the place . All this youtube cash has these idiots getting just stupid about posting content . This youtube craze has to end as well as all the misinformation that came along with it. Everyone looking for a quick buck , they dont give a shit if its accurate , they get paid anyway.

@@HighHosilver oh absolutely you want people commenting so the cash register keeps ringing.
fast and ford is never used in same sentence.
Say's the punk that never owned one
They all think their Ford is fast, till a Corvette or Camaro,Cuda or Charger past them.
Oh no 🚀
@onewhoknowsrevenge6807 - You rascal you! Another Ford hating Troll who is compelled to make ignorant statements like that. The sound of jealousy is in the air! LOL
Put your Money where your mouth is I'll whoop you in even a Thunderbird
Don't forget about the GTO and Trans Am. Period.
@onewhoknowsrevenge6807 - I know! Ford has taken such a beating from those cars through the years. LOL My favorite comparison is the Vette and the Mustang. Those two cars were never meant to compete with each other, but they sure did at times. Shelby's GT350 Mustang, with a smaller 289 c.i. engine, swept the road course tracks all over America and more of the larger engine 327 c.i. engine Stingrays consistently, for 3 straight years. The GT350 was victorious in winning the SCCA B Production National Championships in '65, '66 and '67. They trounced the Stingrays almost as much as the Shelby Cobras!
Australian 6 cylinders could cover the quarter mile in the same time. In the same era. And our little 6 cylinders wooped the big V8s around Mount Panama, in Australia. The little 6 cylinder LJ Torana killed Fords big V8
