new rav4 owner here and I just have to say I do not like the new radio system. Its aggravating to jump through a bunch of hoops compared to turning a knob and selecting a station
Hi Steve: Any idea if I can do a split screen so I see the map on one side and music on the other? I can do it on my 2015 Prius, but can't figure out if it's possible in the 2023 Prius. Thanks! Your videos are helpful.
We have the same question about our 2023 Venza. Our 2021 Venza had the option of a split screen to see multiple things. Miss that! Or is there a secret to getting the split screen?
Weird thing though is that favorites-list is not specific to a source or band which is different than any car I’ve ever driven. It also puts them in the order you add them in - so if I want to scroll through my FM favorites I have to reorder them. Not wrong I suppose, just very different.

I am wondering that as well. Seems lame to not be able to easily rearrange favorites. Can do that in our 2021 Subaru. Bought the Rav4 hybrid for the gas savings but the way Subaru sets things up is a lot more intuitive and has more convenience features.
What does it mean when the message: "your session has expired" after starting up. This is happening everytime for a week. After having the car 8 months.
Hi Steve, I'm still trying to learn all the new digital features in my Highlander. I was wondering how I can get the navigation destination from my Android to appear on the display screen while driving? Do you have a tutorial video on that? Thank you in advance.
You need to be on a list. Toyota is still not taking exact orders as of now. Maybe they will by then. Also toyota does not change over model years all at once. They start.usually in may or june with the next big thing then they do a vehicle here and there . I have seen model years change on vehicles waiting until jan and feb on the last couple models
My fourth 3 year Highlander lease and this infotainment system could make it my last. Biggest change is the reduction in presets from 36 to 18 stations. Biggest PITA is not being able to use a dial to scroll through sirius stations, instead needing to use a touchscreen with an 1/8th inch touch spot + or - through the stations...really difficult when driving. Way too many touches needed for using it the system and dangerously distracting.
I hate, hate, hate this system. I never thought I'd own a car that i have to pull over to change the radio station. Every time you touch the screen it changes the configuration of the icons. It should lock my favorites on one screen not make me scroll for them. Its dangerous to operate while driving.
I'm doing nothing wrong.all my preset stations all mixed together (am, FM,siris) then having to scroll to see half of them is annoying. When I press the am prompt only the pre set am stations should come up and so on. This is a computer it should be able to handle that with a program option that Toyota should provide with an update.i've been told by the dealer that too many features are tied to the operation of the car to replace it with something simpler if so, this is a Toyota problem that should be addressed.@@stevenwelchtoyota
It is true that you cannot re-order the list, and you have to enter them in the order you want. But here's something important: it adds each new favorite to the TOP of the list, not below the current list which would have been logical. So, enter your least favorite station first, then proceed in backwards order, entering your most favorite station last.

It would be nice if there is a way to increase the available number of presets. Is there such a feature?
Yeah I agree. 20 isn’t enough, especially when you could set up to 36 in older models. Hopefully this could change in a software update

Toyota has done it this way for a while where you would switch bands to go in the order of the presets
Steve I appreciate all your help When you order the Toyota tundra does it still take a long time to get it
you cant specifically order one. you normally put your name on a list and then wait. could ve weeks could be months
Can you order the tundra with dual exhaust

Thank you Steven! Anyone know how to list your favorites in numeric order, e.g. highestlowest FM 100.2, --> 98,5, --> 97.1, etc. etc.?
They save in the order that you save them
@@stevenwelchtoyota Ok, thank you Steven I'll give that a try. I would like to see Toyota make a change that allows a re-ordering function.

It would be what the HD radio reads as being sent out from the station. It's likely they have another hd station on the same frequency

Can you have radio or music playing while you are on hybrid energy flow screen or navigation waze screen?
yes
@stevenwelchtoyota I figured, just wanted to confirm.

How do you change the order of the stations in the favorites list?
You have to set them in the order you want them
In the favorite edit mode, press and hold the 3 horizontal lines to the left of the station icon, then reorder away!

How do you scan stations?
The favorites seems to be limited to 10 stations.
All that functionality and they limit you to like 12 stations you can mark as a 'Favorite'. Just unreal.
still no fix for this? My 2010 Tundra let me save 6 pages of favorites. 12 is really bad.
How do you do this for the phone favorites, cant figure it out
Usually you have to set it in your phone

Toyota took 2 steps backwards on this infotainment compared to my 2017 Toyota Tacoma. SMH. Ridiculous
Most people like it with the possible exception of having to do the subscriptions
