There are several reasons why people might use a full face CPAP mask:
    1. They have difficulty breathing through their nose: Some people have nasal congestion, a deviated septum, or other issues that make it difficult to breathe through their nose. A full face mask allows them to breathe through their mouth as well as their nose.
    2. They snore: A full face mask can help reduce snoring by providing a constant flow of air to the airways.
    3. They sleep on their stomach: Some people find it more comfortable to sleep on their stomach, but this can cause the nasal mask to leak. A full face mask can be a good alternative for these people.
    4. They need a higher pressure setting: Full face masks can accommodate higher pressure settings, so they may be recommended for people who need a higher level of air pressure to keep their airways open.
    5. They have facial hair: Beards, mustaches, and other facial hair can make it difficult to get a good seal with a nasal or nasal pillow mask. A full face mask can be a good option for people with facial hair.
    6. They have sleep apnea and a deviated septum: A deviated septum can make it difficult to breathe through the nose, so a full face mask may be recommended for people with both sleep apnea and a deviated septum.

This is probably the best CPAP mask breakdown on the internet. Thank you and well done. Since I've had to start CPAP therapy which has been 8 months, I have bought eight different masks and eventually I went for the vitera. It's the only mask that actually works for me and allows me to get a full night's sleep.. I wouldn't recommend messing around and wasting money like I did. Just go straight for the vitera. Give that a crack. I wish it had been the first mask I bought!

I have been using the F20 from around 2007. I tried the memory foam cushion because it sounded like a great idea. However, the foam developed a tear after about 3 weeks. Back to the rubber {or silicone}. That last me quite a few months. The last cushion I started using in June 2022. I finally had to replace it in early March 2023. I know that may seem like over kill, but if it doesn't leak air - why replace it?

I HATE the Evora. As a tech, it pushes into almost everyone's cheeks. It is also prone to make a whistling noise at the nasal hole at high pressures. I prefer DreamWear hybrid, but it also has fitment issues. I really try to avoid hybrids for sleep tests.

    Best:
F&P Vitera - best air flow for my low O2 issues and love all the adjustable straps. Looks like a Bane mask but fits like a dream.
Resmed F20 Touch - soft on my face. I don't like the magnets, I would prefer the hooks from the Vitera. Love the memory foam and haven't had problems with it. Gently wipe it once a week and it has lasted longer than 30 days.
Resmed F10 - my backup mask. It has great air flow and straps that loop on.
    Worst:
Resmed Mirage Quattro - very heavy and leaves marks on my face. I can't wear it a full night without intense pain. Costs a lot of money and can't use it. I buy all my supplies out of pocket so this one burns a lot.

I believe I was using the F&P Simplis. Comfortable harness , The Diffuser collected humidity and Whistled terribly , and the ( zipper ) where the silicone attached to the clear plastic got moldy and could NOT be cleaned AND failed , separating - cannot be repaired or glued back together .Happened to 3 masks in a row !

    The f30i design..will
The tubs on the side be squeezed or obstructed when sleeping on one’s side like I do? I had tried it once and stopped felt the
    air flow go down significantly

Hello Peter, we have a video answer to this question! But in short, the side being squeezed will not effect lung and airway pressure. Even if you feel a drop in airflow if you press it with you fingers. th-cam.com/video/Lw-eZSSshLk/w-d-xo.html

The last sentence of review gave me my answer. I have been using dreamware nasal and it the best one for me. But several times a year i get cold and sinusitis which makes horrible to use nasal mask. So for days with stuffy nose I was looking for full face and ended up buying F30i but unfortunately S size which is unsuitable to me. For last few months I was unable to decide if I should go for cushion replacement with m size or altogether switch to dreamware. Recently I discovered that dreamware has flexible width whereas F30i has narrow width at the nose side. Which you have also confirmed in last sentence of ur video. So i am thinking to buy whole new dreamware full face instead of replacing cushion of F30i

My Simplus mask leaks air. I'm going back to my Vitera. I found I can use the Simplus head gear though with the Vitera. It's stronger and softer. Other masks I've used that have straps across the upper cheeks caused my eyes to swell. The Vitera only has the lower neck straps, non over the upper cheeks.

I bought the Vitera because loads of TH-cam reviewers raved about how well it sealed and fit. For some reason I could not get the Vitera to seal around the top of my nose. It was constantly "farting" at higher pressure for my BIPAP. The F20 fits pretty well, but the F&P Evora Full Face fits absolutely the best of any full-face mask I have tried. I recently purchased a Dreamwear Full Face and we'll see how it does after I receive it. Great run-down of different types.

      Same problem, Robert.
The full face masks I’ve tried, I have to cinch if so tight to prevent leaks that it’s like a straitjacket on your face.
I have pretty much switched to nasal pillow masks and mouth taping.
After awhile the nose irritation I got subsided for the most part, and way less “hardware”, straps, plastic etc. touching the face.
I keep reading reviews and every so often try out a new full mask (no success) or nasal mask (better) but I keep coming back to the nasal pillow masks.
      Good luck!

Airtouch F20. The foam seals much better than silicone, but you have to replace masks more often. Nothing seals better than Airtouch in my experience.

  • @polarablues64
    @polarablues64 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I started off with some crap nose cup they put on me in that horrible sleep test. I have a deviated septum which means it's very easy to collapse my air passages by just pressing on my face. It was God awful. I got the vitera next, but I had a hard time getting to seal around my deep bridge without also causing the septum issue. I ended up with a lot of dry eye issues. I tried the Airtouch F20 next thinking the memory foam would solve all problems. I had a touch time seating the foam, so I fussed with it a lot and as a result kept tearing it within a week or so. I'm on the F30 now. Surprisingly the under nose units actually seem to inflate my air passages through my septum (just like they do the rest of my air ways, how bout that?) And since it doesn't interact with my bridge no problems there. My only complaint is leaking at my cheeks when I lay on my back. I have to strap it down awful tight to prevent that. So almost perfect.
