Our review of a new brutal take on Godzilla. Does Godzilla Minus One tower over its giant monster movie competition? #godzilla #godzillaminusone #toho #monsterverse
Listen, I have been a Godzilla fan since I was 7 years old. Words I've used to described him include "awesome", "badass", and in the case of the 1960s Showa version, "Cookie Monster on steroids". But one word I never used to describe him before is "scary"....but Minus One changed that. Y'all, this is not a sci-fi movie. This is a straight up HORROR movie! For those who don't know, Minus One is a remake of the original black-and-white film "Gojira" released in 1954. It's a stand-alone story with no connects to Shin Godzilla or any other previous Godzilla films. Godzilla was originally created to be a VILLAIN, but he quickly became a marketable anti-hero. Minus One returns Godzilla to his original purpose. Humanity fears him. He is a weapon of mass destruction. He seems unstoppable...invincible even. He. Is. SCARY. Minus One also made me do something that no other Godzilla film could do. It made me cry. The humans are the main characters here, not the monster. They are very well developed through the movie, and the acting is top tier. (That agonizing scream. You know the one.) I felt for these characters. I wanted them to succeed. I wanted them to successfully kill the badass lizard that I've loved since my childhood. Go see Godzilla Minus One. This week. Do it. I swear upon my fandom that you will not be disappointed. 🦖☢

Star Wars is too far gone to waste on a great director like this.
The 1954 version is better. All other versions pail in comparison. No other Godzilla move would exist but for the original.
