2 very nice 40s you got there ive got a 7840 turbo with oversized tyres on it does 50k no problem too got it on the dyno last year and its 140hp i think there all them 40 series are brilliant tractors you could put them to anything job
Could someone possibly tell me what kind of rim and tire size it is? And whether this is an original accessory because I definitely need wider tires on my Ford 7840
2 absolute beauties, blue roof model for me looks the nicer tractor, but 2 ,5 star tractors. Only thing nicer would be a mint 7840 in 2wd. Great video as always 👍
Enjoy the run of good fortune while it lasts in the second hand tractor business, as there will be one which will come along and eat a hole in the profit you've made in a few. Alot of genuine seller's which will tell you the truth but you'll always get a tramp wherever you go!
Sweet pair you've got there. I didn't know any 40 series did 50k. Is there any extra gears or are they just higher geared? I bet that's a rough ride at 50 especially the tractor on its own. I think the standard ones were about 25k?
Standard ones were generally 30-40k I believe, ours pushes 33k but a neighbour's will do 42k so that's why I'm saying 30-40k as taller tires will make it go some bit faster.
We used to have a 7740, completely standard, it did about 48k, 50+ going down hill. Ride was fairly good most of the time, not much different to our current TM130, but did start bouncing a bit once you get to full throttle
Sum buses them 40s the 8340 may have the wrong badge on the front as even a change over model 1995 ford/nh 40s has the new holland badge on the nose cone 😎🌬
My stomach turns around when i think of the times we had our 7840
Great Video, Great to see a couple of examples of Blue Tractor history, thanks of sharing

Some machines, your trips to Europe definitely worthwhile it seems!! Some choice to make now whether or which to sell 🙈
I'm one of the proud owners of 8340 and mine is barely doing 30km/h (19mph) is there any way to change it ?
Where do you get pick up hitches mostly looking fir one for a 7840

Cheers Ciaran. I meant 25mph not k and just realised my mistake. Thanks for replying.
Used to hear of a lot of 8340's doing well over 40k

My old 7840 used to do about 55k
Ford motor 💙
I'd choose the 8240 ford over the other 1
👍👍👍👍👍👍
I would put the pipe system on the 8240 and get rid of the case and rake and bale hauling to the 8340
FORD IS GOLD 💪👌👍 SIMPLY THE BEST 💪👍❤️
THE SERIES 40 ARE NOT NEW HOLLAND , IT'S A FORD TRACTORS.
